I am writing to file a formal complaint against Shine.com regarding unethical business practices and a dispute over a refund for services rendered.

On [11-Mar-2024], I engaged with Shine.com to avail myself of certain services, for which I made a payment of [INR 3300] . However, subsequent to this initial transaction, I have been consistently pressured into acquiring additional services, each requiring further payments (Order ID: CP519497Amount :16, 706.00, Order ID: CP519490 Amount:9875.00, Order ID: CP519488 Amount:5192.00). Eventually when i again got an invoice of 24, 000 i mentioned them on call that i would not be paying this and they started harassing me stating if you have financial issues then take loan. Despite my refusal to proceed with these additional payments due to lack of disclosure regarding total costs, I was informed that a refund for the previously availed services would not be possible.

The lack of transparency and the refusal to process refunds for undelivered or unwanted services are clear violations of consumer rights and ethical business standards. the next day, i got a call from their customer care asking to activate my services however i refused and clearly stated that i do not wish to take the services and asked for my call recording since it clearly shows how the executive has trapped me in this loop stating these are all mandatory. however the lady on the call said that as per our policy we do not provide call recording, subsequently i asked for the policy which states this statement. she dropped the call saying she will get back. Have not heard from them ever since. and Today to my surprise, my courses have been activated without my consent and is only valid for a period of 90 days whereas on call the sales executive (Tushar) told that these have lifetime validity.

Therefore, I request the intervention of the Consumer Forum to address the following:

A full refund of the payment (INR 35, 859) made on 12-Mar-2024 for the services that have not been utilized.
Cancelling any ongoing services and subscriptions associated with my account.
Appropriate penalties and disciplinary action against Shine.com for engaging in unethical business practices and disregarding consumer rights.
I have attached copies of relevant documentation with Shine.com, to support my complaint.
