Sony India — KLV-32EX330 Display panel problem | |||
Service Request ID: 24684693 Serial No.: 3296106 Model No.: KLV-32EX330 Date of Purchase: 11-11-12 Place of Purchase: Vasanth & Co, Velachery, Chennai After saving a lot of money, finally the day came when i was ready to buy my dream TV "Sony LED Bravia TV". Purchased this TV from Vasanth & Co, Velachery, Chennai. I was really proud when i bought this TV. (which i regret now) But after couple of years, now all of a sudden i noticed display color changing & in a while display will go blurred. I posted a complaint in Sony's web portal & a service engineer visited the next day. He verified the TV & said that the display panel needs to be changed & the estimate will be given tomorrow after he reports at his service center. I got a call from this service center & they sent me an estimate copy which just woke me up from my dreams. Estimate to fix the TV was 11K rupees. More than one third of the value which i paid to purchase this tv has to be spent on fixing it. After seeing this, i went across the internet to find out a lot of such complaints on Sony about their defective display panels across all LCD/LED models which is not lasting more than 1-2 years. I could had chosen some XYZ brand's TV which costs less & ready to give 2-3 years of warranty unlike Sony's 1 year (i think Sony is aware of their defective parts, thats the reason they're sticking with 1 year warranty) This is really a pain for a middle class person to spend such a huge amount on one particular household appliance and also to spend more on the same item. Give me one good reason why i need to spend my hard earned 11k rupees on fixing this Sony brand's LED TV than spending another 9K to buy a cheap LED TV which is ready to give me 2-3 years warranty? I regret why i didn't look at all those negative(true) reviews on Sony TV. I could had saved a lot of money if I did that & also could had been more peaceful right now. If this is a manufacturing defect why do you even sell it to consumers? Why not fix it? Rather than spending money on advertising, why not spend money on R&D to get defective piece fixed. In Sony's caption, it is mentioned as "Make.Believe". You "Made" & we "Believed" you. But you "betrayed" us with the defective pieces. Thanks Sony for giving me such a regretful experience & lesson.
