[Resolved] Sony India — Lcd Television ! | |||
I had purchased sony lcd model – klv -32s550a from fair Electronics & appliances pvt.Ltd. Bhandup (W), mumbai on 06/01/2010. The Above said tv started having problem of sratch like 2-3 lines & gradually Some small white spots which with time have become into patches & have Covered 90% of the screen by now. I had called the sony customer care number – [protected] to register the complaint. On 27/07/2014 an techqnician from Orbitelectronics visited our place and said that we will have to change the Display panel and after making a call to his office he asked us to make an Advance payment of rs.6000/- for the damaged part which was of approx Rs.11800/- and said that they will fix by getting the new part within 3-4 days. I did not hear from them for a week and when i contacted them they said they Are arranging for the part & will call once the part have come but that Never happen and everytime they said the same. Then one fine day they told me that Now they are not getting the part & hence lcd tv cannot be repaired and They arranged to send the refund of rs.6000/- on 21/08/2014 with the letter Stating that as the lcd tv is 4 year old case and the damaged part is not Available hence sony company is offering us 25% discount on mrp on sony bravia. But i fail to understand here is that, is four years too Longer duration that the company itself cannot replace the damaged part & It also makes me think of what is the life of these kind to televisions.. I Bought sony as it is one of the best and premium brand without even comparing It to any other brand in the market though price wise sony is nearly 20-30 % more Then others. I am totally disappointed with the quality as well as after Sales services. And by the end i am left with to buy a new television that Too with only 25% discount which effectively would be nearly 20%. As in market from the retail store one gets Nice discount on mrp. To buy a new television of sony again means i have to Bear nearly 75% of cost again in just 4.5yrs. It makes me think whether i should stick to the brand ‘sony’ And if i do what gurantee i have that i May not face such techqnical issues in short span of period with really bad After sale service s ‘or’ should i explore other brands equally competative With nearly 20-25% lesser price for nearly same features. We have been using Many sony products ourselves and have been also recommending others to buy sony Products but now its difficult to recommend it to others as even i am thinking What should i do with my pending wish list of other gadgets to be bought which Earlier would have been by default ‘a sony product’. I request the concerend authorities at ‘sony’ company to Look into the matter to either resolve the techqnical problem of my televisions Display panel at earliest or offer me a genuine discount which makes me think To continue my faith in sony and also effectively value for my money.
