I placed an order on Swiggy on 11/09/2025 with order ID [protected]. After waiting for several minutes, I received a message from Swiggy stating that my order was cancelled because the restaurant was closed. This cancellation was initiated by Swiggy and not by me.
After this, I did not receive any update regarding my refund. I had to personally reach out to Swiggy’s customer support team. Their representative made me wait without any proper response. Later, I was informed by another representative that I had been charged the entire order amount of Rs. 549 as a cancellation fee.
This is completely unfair and unacceptable because the order was cancelled by Swiggy itself due to the restaurant being closed. I did not cancel the order, nor was I at fault in any way. As a customer, I was made to wait for food that never arrived, had to repeatedly follow up with their support team, and instead of receiving my refund, I was wrongly penalized.
Despite multiple email communications with Swiggy support, they repeatedly refused to refund the amount, citing cancellation policies that are not applicable in this situation. Their reasoning ignores the simple fact that Swiggy itself cancelled the order, not the customer.
This amounts to wrongful deduction of money, harassment, and mental stress caused by making me chase them for a refund.
