[Resolved]  Vodafone — Charged Rs.99/- for false item

I have a vodafone postpaid connection [protected]. In the monthly bill for the period 24 April-23 May 2014, I am charged Rs.99/- under an item "download". When I called up the customer care, they said a file has been downloaded named shotformat_dw****** for which Rs.99/- were charged. When I asked them what this file is, they had no idea. They said it could have been a chargeable item which I may have downloaded from a website. However, I did not download anything that was chargeable to my carrier. I have a 3G datapack of 1gb, and my data limit had not exhausted. They don't even know if this file is a song, a game, a software or a video. I do not understand that if they don't know what I have downloaded, how can they charge me? When I told them that it has to be some error in their system, they simply refused. I tried to log a complaint on 198, but they continuously argued with me and did not log any complaint. I am sure they are over-charging me.

The same has been happened to me now. I didn't downloaded anything, but they charged me Rs.225 for the below downloads,

I had opted for porting from Vodafone. so vodafone is cheating me.

Vodafone - simply you guys are cheating many o[censored]s . Spoiling your name by yourselves.


If I had downloaded sent me technical details.
No, my complaint has not been resolved and the issue persists. I have not got any details regarding the download that has been charged to me. After talking to 3 customer care executives I can infer that Vodafone intends not to disclose the details of the bill item. I just want to know which site has charged me through my carrier. If it is not you and you do not have the details then to whom would you give the amount billed to me for the download?
Vodafone is not giving the technical details that is the main issue which arises suspicion..they say we do not know what this file is and from where u have downloaded it..simply overcharging..
I have a vodafone number and charged Rs60/- for download. When I chat with I got the following information.

Yes..this is how Vodafone has been cheating many customers..and other ppl who pay their bills in good faith without even looking at the details..

29/08/14-16:19:16 hello1_tvalls****** Rs30 when i ask they said you have down load later on they said you have activated caller tune...

Vodafone running a scam I belive.

I have had the no for the last 8 years, and I have never done any kind of downloads.
Nor do i find any such downloads done by mistake in my phone.
Vodafone is surely doing something very awful.

We assure you that our billing system accurately monitors data usage just the same as Voice and SMS usage. This ensures that you are billed only for the service which you have actually utilized.

Any additional downloads (like games/song/wallpapers etc) will be charged as per the product details mentioned along with the data charges.
E.g if a wallpaper cost is mentioned as Rs.10, you will be charged Rs.10 along with data charges depending on the download size of the wallpaper.

Hence, we are unable to reverse the same.

a fake charge of Rs 327/- against downloading of application in " d2c_ndtv_valu", "hello1_tvalls" &
"shotformat_dw" are loaded in monthly Bill ( Dec2014) of my postpaid mobile connection [protected].The application have never been down loaded in my mobile and same was checked in my mobile application/downloading system. Couldn't understand how did Vodafone charge in my account which I have never utilized ? I made online complaint to nodal officer UPW through mail .But nodal officer denied to refund /reverse the unusual charges .Before that same type charges were uploaded in my monthly bill and reversed by Vodafone as accepted error .But this time they have denied .I also made complaint to Appellate officer, but reply received from same officer who was Nodal officer, UPW . How this could be possible that both officer will be same ? as per the web content of Vodafone both officers are different.This is completely harassment of customer.
Guys same problem with me .I was charged Rs 495 for downloading charges .I have activated my 2G data pack, which is not consumed completely till the end of month .Then how could the charge me any downloading charge .

Vodafone done have any good roaming plan so i asked for porting my number to AIRTEL and from the same month the bill is added with download charge .
Guy I have received my refund after forwarding complaint to Sec TRAI and Sec. competition commission of India( email can get from their website).After my complaint to TRAI & CCI I got phone call from vodafone that vodafone will adjust amt in next bill after approval of CA.I got refund in next bill.pl forward your complaint to Sec./ joint sec of TRAI & CCI.
