[Resolved] Vodafone India — international roaming charges issue | legal team says what they say in the media need not be true | |||
I travelled to dubai end of december and activated the international roaming plan for 7 days. I did the same early december for singapore (So i am not a first time traveller and i know how this works!) I had once visited a vodafone store before and was told that the pack can be activated from the destination as well. I was going for 8 days this time and i had to activate a 7 day pack so i chose to activate it after i reach the destination. I have apparently used 11mb data while activating the plan and have been charged 5k for that. I cannot believe, for one, that your vodafone app uses 11mb data for a plan activation. Does that make sense to you guys? Do you guys to do this to your employees, your senior executives, your ceo and their families too? Do you know what 5k means to a common man? It's my hard earned money and i am not paying that kind of money for activating a roaming service. I have been your customer for years! Your plans, roaming charges, everything is much more expensive than airtel and network, much worse for the past few months, yet i stuck around with vodafone because i am a loyal customer. And this is what you guys do? "further, customers on international roaming without a pack will be fully protected from bill shocks through an automatic adjustment that is equal to the daily pack for that particular country. This means that the moment a customer’s billing reaches the price of a one day pack for the country, he/she will be automatically moved to that pack." What about counting a day as 00:00 to 23:59? "the i-roamfree packs rental will be applied on all days of pack being active irrespective o[censored]sage done or no while in the daily roaming countries. We’ll count a day as 00:00 to 23:59 ist time." I activated the plan on the same day so why have i been charged on that day and not been allowed to use the benefit above? I feel so cheated! I am not paying for this. This is pure fraud, ways of minting unreasonable money from your customers. And worse, loyal customers. Despite multiple followups, i have been told that i will be given a 20% discount but have to pay the remaining charge and the legal team has implied that what they say in the media "need not be true" as it isn't on their website.
