[Resolved] Vodafone — postpaid sim and cellular service | |||
Hi, Moral of the story. Never trust what vodafone say. Issue is not the employees but serious communication gap within the company. Do your own detailed research on what the sim requirements are. That way you won't be screwed. I came to bangalore from us and visited vodaphone mini store. I gave my aadhar card copy and temporary stay address. I got my sim activated and used it for 2 days. After that i got a message from vodafone asking me to visit vodafone because my sim verification failed. My guess is that the hotel i stayed is not good enough for verification (Vodafone center people should not have taken my temporary address in the first place. Only later did i know that temporary address won't do). Anyways, i visited vodafone mini store again and told my case. These folks confirmed there was nothing wrong shown in the system and that i'm all done. Come next day this lady from vodafone called me mentioning that my address verification has failed. I described my whole story and call ended with not much information on next steps. Within one hour my sim gets blocked and i'm not able to call, sms, use 4g etc. So i went to vodafone customer care center a 3rd time and described the situation. So now they finally said that they need a permanent address from where verification can be provided. So i provided my uncle's address. Vodafone folks activated my mobile number and confirmed that nothing would go wrong. 2 days later i was traveling to another state and then my sim got blocked again without notification. I seriously struggled this time. I called vodafone customer care using an airtel sim. They said my sim is blocked and i need to visit a vodafone center. This time i lost my cool. Vodafone customer care center mentioned that there was no address updates from the center. I asked the customer care people to speak with vodafone mini store people. Seems they are not allowed to talk to each other in vodafone. Customer care people wont contact the vodafone store people. Finally, i said i would like to cancel my sim. They said it is already suspended and i only need pay prorated amount. I hope they don't screw me big time anymore. I will be visiting a vodafone center soon to confirm my sim cancellation and get necessary proof about this. These vodafone people are good nice people but the vodafone company definitely lacks the order or service capability to address their current or future customers. Was this information helpful? | |||
