Vodafone — [URGENT!!!] Pre Litigation notice from VI for a forged Bill

This is regarding Relationship No.[protected] Vi Brand Mob No. - [protected]. I requested to disconnect the number on 19th-Nov-2020 as I was moving out of India for good. I cleared my due amount(PFA screenshot- 01*) and requested for suspension for which I got the confirmation as well that the number has been suspended (PFA ss- 02*)

Later on 24th Nov 2020, I sent a follow up email (PFA ss-03*) to VI CustomerCare to get a status on my Churn request #C004-[protected]. On 26th Nov, VI CC responded that they have initiated the disconnection process for my number [protected] (PFA ss-04*). After that I assumed that the number has been disconnected so didnt follow up further (a BIG mistake from my side).

On 30th Dec 2020, I was surprised to receive an auto email from VI about payment due of Rs.439.44. I responded back on 2nd Jan to that email, giving the reference of Churn request and number disconnection (PFA ss-05*). However on 3rd Jan, VI CC told me that the number is still Active in their system. (PFA ss-06*). I told them this seems to be a discrepancy in their system and I won't be paying any due amount for a service which I never used. (PFA ss-07*). After that the whole matter calmed down (..for a bigger storm)

On 3rd March, I received a DEMAND NOTICE email to pay the due amount of Rs.1155.02 to avoid any Civil proceedings against me. I again repeated myself and shared old emails about number suspension confirmation (PFA ss-08*). To which I didn't get any further acknowledgements from VI.

Again on 12th Mar, I received a 2nd DEMAND NOTICE which completely left me enraged. Rather than responding to my enquiries, VI kept sending me payment due emails. (PFA ss-09*). After responding harshly to the 2nd DEMAND NOTICE email, I got a response from VI CC that my number was suspended from 03/02/2021, 10:49:23 AM because of an unpaid bill. I again responded with my enquiries and as usual no further comments from VI (PFA ss-10*).

On 10th July, I received a "Legal Notice, Pre Litigation Case" from jyoti.[protected]@vodafoneidea.com stating that I've availed the services but failed to pay the total outstanding amount of Rs. 978.02. The outstanding amount again surprised me that it has reduced from Rs.1155.02 to Rs 978.02. I've been asked to be present at 11.00 a.m. on 01/08/2021 at District Court, Shivajinagar, Pune for amicable settlement (PFA ss-11*). I again responded to that email with previous communication on this matter and also reached out to Jyoti Ohri on LinkedIn to look into this issue urgently. However she tells me she didnt receive any emails from me.

As you can see there was a whole lot of miscommunication, unresponsiveness, discrepancy in the data & system which caused this prolonged issue. I understand that this is not a huge amount to have such a big fiasco for and I've no issues in paying this due amount either. But what's the guarantee that if I pay the bill then it will be updated in VI system and I will not receive a payment due email after a month or two. I can't access my online account as it requires an OTP to login so I wont be able to follow up on my case either. And after going through this entire email drama, I don't really trust email communications.

I request you to please take this matter seriously and help me seek justice. I do not wish to be in a legal situation while I'm outside of my home country. It is impossible for me to be present on that day as I'm currently in the USA and wouldn't prefer to travel amid covid situation.
