[Resolved]  Income Tax Department — IT refund not received

My husband died in an accident and I was awarded MACT CLAIM from UNITED INDIA INSURANCE COMPANY LIMITED, GODHRA-389001.

This company has deducted Rs.35057/- as TDS from the claim amount and issued me a
TDS CERTIFICATE for the same.

Then to get back the TDS deducted I have filed a IT RETURN

But instead of returning me Rs.35057 + Interest, mistakenly I got refund of Rs.3620/-
vide cheque no.77015 fsyrf 27.04.2005 from Income Tax

But because I got the cheque too late, the same was rejected by the bank.

So I have given back the cheque to I.T.Office in Dahod to and written a letter to

recheck my IT RETURN and refund me Rs.35057+Interest instead of 3620/-

on dated 14.09.2009.

But till date i.e. after a span of more than 15 months no reply is there and

till date I am awaiting for my refund .....

As I am villager and widow, I do not know the proper way and where to approach for this

problem.....

Please do help me to get my refund back at the earliest.....

Income Tax Department — Not yet Received TDS amount

I have not yet eceived my TDS amount. I have done return of income for Assessment year[protected]. I have launched a complaint to Income Tax officer on 20th August,2011. I will be highly obliged if you take action on my given complaint.

I find from your internet Status of Refund that the "refund cheque returned undelivered by postal dept. as address provided by you is incorrect". This is not true. When the refund cheque arrived here I and my fa mily were out of station. I have requested the local Assessing Officer to send a request for sending the refund cheque again to me.

Income Tax Refund of Rs.123182/- for the Assessment Year 2009-10 of Sri Tapan Behera bearing PAN - ALBPB9413G had been claimed. Out of this, an amount of Rs.80050/- has been refunded and sent to the assessee. But the assessee has not received the same so far. in the mean while the assessee has changed his place of staying and the refund cheque returned undelivered by postal department. I haven't received my IT refund for the last year. I received a very confusing notification from the IT department that I need to send my address details to them. They already have my address details in the IT filing documents so why are they asking this again? I had given my bank details for direct deposit but this they have ignored.

It is a scheme to loot money from citizens or at the very least, make money out of the interest earned through holding back all these refunds.

If I had a chance, I wouldn't hesitate to torture these officials in the same way they've been torturing us for decades.

Hello Sir/Madam,

i have not received the IT return for the assessment year 2008-09. Also i have visited the Income tax office Erandwana pune for the refund inquiry. it was on 19 of August 2010 i had put one application requesting the refund for the assessment year 2008-09. After 2 months of applying the application i had visited the same office for the inquiry but nothing was helpful to me. They had asked me to give one Xerox copy of acknowledgment which i had already submitted on the same day. can help me out.

But it is sorry to say that i have not yet received the refund amount till date.
