I, Santosh Kumar Pandey, wish to file an official complaint against Meritnation, Meritnation Registered Address: Applect Learning Systems Private Limited, A-221, Okhla Industrial Area, Phase 1, New Delhi, Delhi, 110020, Meritnation Website: www.meritnation.com and Capital Float for fraud, misrepresentation, unauthorized loan processing, and causing severe harm to my credit
record without my consent.

On 26/03/2018, a Meritnation counsellor, Mr. Sunil Kumar (Phone: [protected]), visited
my residence and persuaded me to purchase an online course subscription for my son. I paid for the subscription in good faith.

During the sales discussion, the counsellor explicitly assured me that if the course was
not going as expected, it could be cancelled at any time. He also promised several
additional features and benefits which were later not delivered.

Over the following months, I made multiple payments towards the subscription (details
attached as Annexure A). However, due to persistent network issues and poor class
delivery, my son repeatedly raised complaints. When these issues remained unresolved, I decided to cancel the subscription on his behalf.

I followed Meritnation’s stated process for cancellation i.e., calling their customer care
and clearly informed them of my decision to stop the classes. Initially, they
acknowledged my request, and after further discussions, assured me that the
subscription would be closed and no further deductions would take place.

Unknown to me and without my consent, Meritnation appears to have processed a
loan/finance arrangement in my name through Capital Float (Axio). Neither I nor my son
ever authorized or signed for such financing.

Despite my understanding that the subscription had been cancelled, nearly two years
later, on 11/03/2020, I suddenly received a legal notice from Advocate on behalf of Capital Float, demanding ₹25, 079.14. The notice falsely stated that I was liable for repayment of this amount.

Alongside the notice, I was subjected to continuous harassment through repeated calls
pressuring me to settle the amount. Despite my repeated explanations that I never
authorized any loan, the callers refused to acknowledge my position.

Out of frustration, I personally visited the Capital Float office at Bellary Road, Sadashiva
Nagar, Armane Nagar, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560080. To my shock, the officials there
stated that they had no knowledge of my case and simply advised me to “speak to the
caller, ” indicating possible misuse of the company’s name or internal fraud.

When I demanded proof of my authorization, Capital Float could not provide any signed
document or evidence showing that I had approved such financing. Meritnation, on the
other hand, avoided calls, gave vague answers, and never addressed my queries directly.

As a result of this fraudulent and unauthorized loan processing, my CIBIL score was
severely damaged, causing financial loss, reputational harm, and mental harassment to
me and my family.

Payments & Cancellation Timeline:
26/03/2018 – ₹5, 013 paid on the day the counsellor visited and proposed the classes.
03/05/2018 – ₹2, 228 paid when the batch started.
04/06/2018 – ₹2, 228 paid.
After these payments, due to continuous issues with the classes, I requested cancellation by phone call, as instructed by Meritnation.

Despite this request:
On 04/07/2018, an unauthorized EMI attempt was made, and a failed charge fee of ₹295 was deducted from my account. When I called customer care, they admitted it was a mistake.

On 07/07/2018, another unauthorized attempt was made. I again confronted customer
care, and they assured me that my subscription was being closed immediately and that
no further deductions would occur.

After this assurance, no further payment requests were made to me, and I believed the
subscription had been properly cancelled.

On 11/03/2020, I then received a legal notice from an advocate on behalf of Capital Float demanding ₹25, 079.14, threatening recovery for a loan I never consented to. Despite visiting their office at Bellary Rd, Sadashiva Nagar, Armane Nagar, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560080, their staff claimed to have no knowledge of my case and asked me to “speak to the caller, ” showing a clear lack of accountability.

A salesguy from aakash meritnation came at my house for the courses.This was at the time of march 2021.He ensured that this course can be converted to aakash offline from online but now he is not responding to the calls and also the company is refusing to convert to offline.I only took the course just because he ensured that it can be converted to offline.Either do it or refund my remaining course money.

Back in 2018 we bought the meritnation package and within few weeks o[censored]sing it I mailed the person to cancel my subscription i still have the mail i sent . And now its 2022 after 4 years i am getting the calls to pay the due amount ...

This complain is regarding the issues which my ward repeatedly faces whenever she tries to attend meritnation online classes.
1) Several times your website crashes and terminates the session by itself.
2) This forces logging-in again and by that time large part of the classes get missed with break of concentration and focus

MERITNATION has cheated us by misguiding with your sales pitch under which we paid for my child Xth class also to you.

We have been CHEATED by MERITNATION through your sales pitch and poor technical infrastructure; therefore DEMAND IMMEDIATE REFUND of the fees paid to you, as there is no-value addition whatsoever from meritnation to my ward studies.

I taken cbse 9th and 10th subscription for my son yug singh solanki. At time of subscription it was promise to have 10 student batch. Last two month i saw more than 70 student in batach..I want to cancel the subscription..No one picking the phone in customer case..Counselor, , tripti mehara..Inspite of severl call no response...

I took subscription of 95000 of meritnation on EMIs through bajaj finserv of ₹5459/ month. But it started to deducting Rs. 590 extra at least in 2 to 3 times in a month. I told them to cancel my subscription, but they told that they have NO CANCEL NO REFUND policy but before subscription they didn't told something about this. They also ignores our complaint and don't helping us. Please help me I am a student now I am very disappointed regarding this because this is collapsing our economical conditions.

I took meritnation premium subscription for 38000 board plus neet one year however after taking the subscription I came to know that the live classes weren't good enough for my preparation also the study material provided was insufficient I tried contacting costumer service lately but their was no response they kept delaying now I an literally feed up calling them daily very poor service though, I opt for refund as I can't pay for bad services and very barbaric behavior of their employees

I am unemployed from last 6 months that is why I am unable to pay the fees of my child's meritnation subscription.(₹62000) My child has not taken a single class from meritnation so I wanted my money back. When I told this thing to two of meritnation counselor Mr. Pradeep Kumar and Mr. Gyan Ranjan then Mr. Gyan Ranjan started sending threatening messages and told us that they will not return our money. Mr. Gyan Rajan is continuously sending me threatening messages. Kindly refund my money as I am unemployed and not able to fulfill the basic needs of my family. Also please take legal action on Mr. Gyan Ranjan

This is about the fraud which Meritnation institution which is a part of Aakash group.

These people are giving false information and asking parents to pay the amount at a time and once they received the amount they will never come back, also top to bottom management are into frouad buisness, this is way they makes money.

It's being 2 months now have paid the amount and I was following up with then but they are still giving false promises.

Have raised concern on there LinkedIn as well but these shameless people just telling all nonsense below are the proofs which they sent with false commitments.

We should take some some strong action against then.

The sales people Neeraj and Megha promsed that what the were selling me was a premium batch of grade 11 and 12 science stream live classes and that the maximum capacity of students per batch would be only 25. they also mentioned that the camera would be on for the student and the teacher so its going to be a two way interaction .After calling me multiple times i paid up the fees and the next day i get a call from the customer care confirming the details of the course i had enrolled my child into, they mentioned that the batch capacity was 90 students and there was only a chat window to clear doubts .

after this i called both the sales people and they just twisted their words and did not reply to any mails that i sent . i have been requesting to cancel subscription and give the money back since what they are offering is not suitable to my requirement . But there has been zero response from them.

Taher Khan reached out to my daughter informing that he is from Aakash Educational Services, and that Aakash is offering discount for enrollment to their Coaching (NEET) course for her. He even told that Aakash is offering only virtual classes due to Covid situation, and informed that would hence come home for enrollment. He came home, showed Aakash course materials, and informed us that because of sudden introduction of virtual platform, Aakash has chosen to use Merit Nation as a platform for their education. When we asked him about Aakash, he once again informed us that he is from Aakash, and that the enrollment is for a NEET coaching course with Aakash. When asked about scholarship test date, he said that it is not required because Aakash has chosen her for enrollment and discount based on her class 10 marks. I did not bargain on fee with him because I knew about Aakash Coaching. He even forced us to pay the fee immediately informing that Aakash is giving this discount only for that day. After paying the fees, he gave us Aakash course material and left. Later when we called up Aakash centre, we got to know that enrollment has not happened with Aakash, but with Merit Nation. This merit nation representative has impersonated himself as Aakash representative, and cheated us. It is a shame that MERIT NATION is adopting this kind of a strategy for enrolling students. How is Aakash allowing this to happen? I want either refund from MERIT NATION or change of enrollment to AAKASH.

3)No escalation matrix available on your portal .
4)I want to change the schedule of Classes, not able to change the same & no body answer on that.
5)No mail received for the day to evaluation, which is also not received .

As per my overall experience of the last 5 days not fulfilling the expectations .

Kindly confirm what the process to get the fee refund or i am not interested to continue with this course,

The counselor who came my home made false statement while purchasing the pacakge and he dont give any demo and on thier site its competly written that first take demo and then purchase the package but he dont give any demo and i want to stop my bajaj loan also so please help me i am not able to study now and plz return my money when i call them they said that we dont have any return policy so please help me out

I was contacted by your team comprising of mrs. Hemlata, mr. Shakir.
My ward even refused to take demo class as he already had bad experience with meritnation in 2014..

They continuously forced us to subscribe meritnation again by making several false promises.

Then they tried to offer discount on your schemes by helping a aid from finance from bajaj finserv pvt ltd.

The agent didn't even meet me a single time for explaining the terms and conditions and misguided me to process for e - mandate. No paper was get signed by me for the same. I was not also made aware of terms and conditions of the financer.

The counsellor was making hurry by saying that we need to complete e-mandate in 5 mins which was also not true. I was not given any loan documents still now.

Your counsellor, made a request to initiate the downpayment of rs 20, 000 but i refused to do so as my ward was not still satisfied with your service. They were again and again making different offers such as switching subscription to jee-iit and also offered to admit my younger son in meritnation,

When i didn't make payment, your team made paid the downpayment which you can also confirm from your resources. A payment of rs 20, 000 was initiated through internet banking but i wasn't aware of this fact. I came to know this when called your customer care desk for cancellation of this subscribtion.

So, it is evident that this is a cheating by your team. My ward wasn't intrested in your subscribtion right from the first day but they were not keen to understand this and still calling 10 times the day.

I incquired from your customer care staff that they still didn't receive the financed money from bajaj finserv.
In view of the above, you are requested to cancel the subscribtion and finance.

Please look into the matter as it is a serious matter of cheating and misguidance by your staff.

After seeing this, i damn sure to unsubscribe this package. Please do the need ful at the earliest. I shall ever be grateful to this act of your kindness.

They are not processing cancellation of subscription and finance though i haven't made any downpayment to them.

Meritnation is a set up to chaet parents and students...they don't give entire info...make you purchase their products and then you come to know that it's of no use...I purchased a doubts and chats subscription of 5000...while making the purchase no where it was mentioned about the level of doubts that can be asked...only while asking the doubts incapable staff mentions that it's only for 12th std level...these services of jee can be availed for a limited time for free from other online institutions...but look at these people during pandemic they resort to mislead people by providing false information and harrass students and parents...these aren't trustworthy...also with a amount of 5000 they are unable to give jee answers...shame on Meritnation...also their executives make false promises and give you false remedial means...take care of yourself donot purchase Meritnation services.

Date of subscription & Incidence -17th June'20

Incident: There representative "Shipla" called us & briefed about entire details of live sessions/study material etc. & eventually we enrolled our ward for live classes as new session. "Sandeep" from sales team was the one who shared us a link for payment (Almost at 9:30 PM) and was after our life to get the payment done in next 10 minutes else link will expire. We did it as we were ok with the inputs as shared by Shipa & Sandeep.
While we got the active login, to our surprise it started from 18th Class (meaning session for three subjects & therefore almost ~26 hrs of online session was already done) now my ward was in 18th Day of class. Since that day we are asking them to either return the money or settle us in new session (live one).But neither Shilpa nor Sandeep are now accommodating us with a clear solution. When we approached their help line number regarding this issue, Instead we were asked if we have any recording of what Shilpa /Sandeep has promised to us. So after that we started having a recording of all conversations with Shilpa & Sandeep & have all evidence regarding the cheat & how they are now manipulating it. Moreover Shilpa even admitted "Madam mai to system me nayi hun to mujhe pata nahi tha " and "Sandeep" said "mera kaam to sales ka hai aur promise to shiplap ne kiya tha" and all that stuff.I am surprised how someone can even say this to a customer & how Meritnation hire people to play with money & time that too in education line?

Yesterday had a word with their care team representative "Anshu" wherein she asked me provide all evidences to her so that she can look into the matter & resolve it. But after entire session of follow-ups & zero output I am afraid to share it with them because I don't think they will resolve it, instead they will just chuck-out Shipla & Sandeep & that is not what I want. All I want is either refund my entire money or allow me to join in new live session starting from day 1.

I am not even sure if I will get any solution after explaining everything here, but sure that at least people will be aware about Meritnation's way of cheating people & unprofessional behaviour.

I purchase a package of 11000 french live class for my daughter saumaya rajvanshi... At the time of sale siddhant told me that u are eligible for french live class and other subject notes test all except live... Live class is only french... Other subject have material... Now i am unable to access any subject material... And customer care told me that is only for lockdown period

Discussion in school chat are going very wrong. Students are use heated abusive language. No one discuss meaningful conversations. Yesterday my parents cross check this app after long discussion my family decided to complain. I hope you take this matter seriously and you solve this problem as soon as possible.

A sales person visited my place from merit nation. He convinced me for registration for their All Subject package for my son. He took the advance payment and taken documents to process the loan. I read about the company reviews and felt like cheated. The sales person made all false commitments and called him to not process the registration. He confirmed to stop Registration. He stopped picking my phone afterwards.

Requesting merit nation to not process my registration and loan documents.

Education is the medium by which you are cheating native people meritnation promised to send live classes but this is lie there is no live classes but a huge package of lie we are not so much rich to waste money in a un used thing and wastage please send my fund this is our humble request we are very frustrated and disturb by this this is so frustrating that what we do and we got very hurt on that day when we call to customer care number and they said that it was only for concepts which we can do in our tution as well as in our school please help us lndian consumer company you are our last hope

I had taken meritnation pack for my daughter two years back for which while demo they promised the world and even on whatsapp they kept saying u will rcv the hard copies but nothing came and when i complained no one was ready to take the responsibility. They keep calling too many times from different numbers and thru different people even after telling them i m not interested anymore. This time it was heights when a lady called me up and she is like u have to listen to me. Heights was this call was for the package i had taken for my son who was in 11th standard two years back and she is telling me u haven't renewed the package. I said u all don't even trust on ur own studies that a child can pass 12th with meritnation studies that's why u r asking for renewal knowing that the package was for two years and when i had taken it two years back means the child must have passed 12th this year. And when i disconnected the phone she kept on calling continuously till the time i didn't pick up the phone and shouted on her. I told her don't u understand that i m disconnecting the phone means i m not interested. She is like no u have to listen to me. They r quite irritating people and i would request everyone pls b aware of these people. They will promise u the world while taking the money. Once money is gone to them then they will not solve any problem o[censored]rs.

I bought online educational apps from merit nation (Bangalore executives mr. Praveen ph: [protected] and mr. Yuvaraj shet ph: [protected]) for my 2 children (3rd and 7th std) oct - 2018 in bangalore for lump sum amount of rs. 86, 000/-.

I have made down payment of rs 17, 200/- on[protected] and made signature on the agreement copy of capital float for the balance amount of rs. 68, 796/- as financial arrangement. This is pre planned arrangement made by merit nation and capital float without proper customer supported service.

We told them to make cancellation of the agreement and to make refund of the down payment made by us. They told us that once payment made, no refund will be made but can make customization of their products. Once 100% payment is received by merit nation, they are not responding properly to our complaint calls as well as email replies.

Merit nation people forcefully convinced to purchase their app with few minutes demo classes at our door steps. They are expert to convey us when we expressed unsatisfactory about their app and even unmatched of syllabus as per the text books referred.

They had taken more than 1.5 months to make customization and without our approval they had processed to get the balance payment from the said financier.in dec-18, the loan amount rs. 68, 796/- is transferred by the capital float based on the ecs mandate signed form without taking any confirmation from our end.

On[protected], i have made stop payment to the ecs before getting cleared.
No single emi is cleared till now, but i am receiving calls and messages from the financier to clear the emi. On[protected], i have received threatening calls from a person and he said that he is the court poice jmfc court from hubli.

So, i have decided to give complaint to the consumer court against merit nation regarding non refund of the amount of rs 86, 000/- along with other expenses incurred.

We have taken the course as per the commitment of providing good clearity as well as weekly visiting to support our child, although we are not too rich, so purchase that on installments, for the reason our child could not able to solve his problem also no support is provided to him. We opt for NIET, but past one year meritnation is coaching CBSE sylabus, and student is studying in Tamilnadu state board. So it totally waste of money and time. I want total money back, because from day one we are asking them to change the product from CBSE to NIET, but all in vain.
How come a state board student studies CBSE lessons, so better disconet and refund the entire amount.

Meritnation had assured and promised me about one-to-one student-tutor ratio and personalized attention during live classes.However, what I found was something no less than a circus with one tutor catering to dozens and dozens of students with no questions being answered during the one live sessions that my child availed. I was promised that this is an alternative to personal tuition that my child was undergoing when the sales representative from Meritnation contacted us.

Much to my horror, all I could see during the live class session of this DE-MERITNATION was students complimenting the teacher on her appearance, her attire and the teacher gushing throughout the session. This is definitely not what I signed up for. Worse, subject related questions/queries are overlooked during the live session. When I contacted Meritnation, I was told the mentor may respond in a day or two that resulted in her queries not being answered and less than expected marks in science exam of IXth Standard.

This is not what I expected. When I asked for a trial before going in for an outright purchase, the salesperson told me there is no trial available and the product can be cancelled at any time and refunds are entertained on select cases. I was repeatedly assured of one to one personalized attention which I found non-existent. I have been naive enough to pay nearly Rs. 9, 000 so far for sub standard lessons. I have repeatedly communicated to Meritnation from within a month o[censored]sing the product in February 2019 that I want an immediate end to this with no response.

There is no one-to-one interaction and live classes are a circus. I have literally written dozens of emails to Meritnation and the firm called Capital Float through which they give loans to stop the EMI's but they keep bouncing mails saying refunds are not possible.

Because suddenly my ward suffer from her childhood severe eye problem after taking this online program from meritnation within 10 days due to online study on tab /phone and now she unable to study both online and offline.
Please help me to cancel this package because now this is not useful for my ward.

I would like to draw your attention to the following points :
1) i took a package of (10+ 2 year neet) online coaching from meritnation on 13 feb, 2019.
2) my ward problem :-
* earlier when she was 6 month old her eye surgery done.
* again last year same surgery done then she would be absolutely fine no problem with her.
* but suddenly her eye suffer severe eye problem after taking program.
▪doctors strictly told to stop online study because it danger/ risky for her eyes lifetime.
3) we continuously call on meritnation customer care no. From 25 feb, 2019 to cancel it but they completely neglect/ignore and no response from there side.

This is my humble request please cancel it. We are middle class people. Please cancel the program and cancel our emi. The amount withdrawal started from (2 april, 2019). So please cancel it as soon as possible please..
