Foul language and harrasement

Hii, incident occur on 23rd March 2024, At Dakhisneshwar metro station near About 11.45 Am to 12 pm, a guy from ticket counter using some foul and inappropriate language and foul sign towards me, I don't know any organization or service providers staff in the world use such kind so bad foul language or sexual harrasment thing towards there customer. This totally a intolerable service I have got
I'm using metro service since 2017 never met with such kind of service from Kolkata metro, hope Kolkata metro is step up agains this,

Machinery not working properly and rude behaviour of staff

I entered dumdum metro station at took exit from central metro station. At the time of exit gate wasn't opening. I sought help from a staff and he checked that entry was not recorded in my card. So he made both entry and exit in central metro. It charged me Rs. 25/- whereas the metro fare from dumdum to central is Rs. 15/-, when I said that the fare is not this much and why am I charged extra, they behaved rudely and said in a harsh tone that the fault is mine and I am rightly charged the money for that.

Does not want to retail
In Baranagar Metro Station in ticket (for token)counter they does not want to retail of Rs 100/- and do misbeheve.The problem is increasing day by day.

Air conditioner inside metro
This is the third time I am experiencing this. The temperature of the air conditioner inside the metro is so much lowered that I caught bad cold and viral fever. Not once but thrice. It might be lowered during peak office hours when there is a lot of crowd. But what is the necessity of doing it when there's no crowd? It's still the month of March. The temperature isn't so high. Even if it is high, a sudden entry to a very low temperature can cause health disturbance. Kindly note that ill people also travel. So there's no necessity of too low temperature.

This incident happened on 3rd of October, 2022 at near about 8:30- 9 pm at Jatin Das Park Metro, it was an Ashtami night (Durga Puja) and i went to the ticket counter for getting tickets, but the staff at the ticket counter window repeatedly misbehaved with me as he kept me waiting for the remaining balance which he was ought to give me. On 26/08/2022 at 8:16 am i reached at ticket counter for recharging my metro card but there was no card machine there for card user and in the morning I didn’t have any cash or any other option .
And the staff sitting there was so rude and ridiculous he said “hobe nah” in Bengali that means we can’t recharge your card .
On Friday its working for all o[censored]s and i was getting late of office and find this miserable behaviour is too sad for us.
Kindly look into the matter urgently. If not then i have file a complaint anywhere else .
This is not done at all .
Everyone is working now a days and this will continue its not good .

Audio advertisement played in metro
Between Tollygunge ( Mahanayak Uttam Kumar ) and Netaji, On a regular basis I hear advertisement that are being announced inside the metro rail. It is inconvenient and unnecessary to all people travelling via Kolkata Metro.

Metro staff and station master's misbehaviour

Yesterday, I had the most horrible experience at the Park Street Metro Station.
One of the metro staffs and the station master (I presume) misbehaved badly with me and were very rude. The experience was traumatizing for me. I never had such experienced this before.
What's happened, I took a metro at Shyambazar, I wanted to go to Park Street. Due to some personal reasons, I needed to go to Dakhsineshwar metro. Yesterday, there was some issue at Dakshineswar metro and no trains left from there for almost an hour. Finally, I got a metro towards Kavi Subhash. I tried to board down at Park Street, but the card did not work. It was blocked, I guess. The card had and has balance. So, that particular staff allowed me in and took my card, checked its balance. It was obviously proper. He then took the card to Station master. From nowhere, both (Station master and the staff) started shouting on me, misbehvaed. Harassed me. They were behaving with me as if I have something unconstitutional and illegal.
My only fault was, I took the train at Shyambazar and went to Dakshineswar for my personal errand. They kept shouting if I had went to Dakshineswar, then I should pay till Dakhsineshwar and then board a new train to Park Street. I have searched online, there is no such rule stated. Even if it's there, they should not misbehave this way..
Any concerned officials, if this catches your eye, please take stern step. So that, others don't have to face what I had experienced yesterday.

Improper Behaviour and Comment by Cashier

I was at Kavi Subhash metro station and was making a card. Gave the cashier a 100Rs note which she returned to me after 10 seconds, claiming I had given her a torn note. It was, of course, perfectly fine when I had produced it. She seemed to have torn it herself.
This was fine, as human error may happen. While getting another note for her, I commented on the situation to my travel partner, saying that it was not torn, and she must have somehow torn the note.
At this point, the cashier butted in and told me "to not act oversmart"!, Insisting it was me who gave her the bad note. At this point it was clear to me she was frustrated and was choosing to take it out on me. I held my silence and calmly walked off with the card.
Very poor customer service, it's extremely detrimental to the travel spirit for both residents as well as tourists visiting Kolkata. Terrible experience!

Improper behaviour at the Belgachia Metro counter
This may sound trivial because this kind of behaviour is probably normal for the staff but I find it absolutely not normal for a middle aged male at the counter to click there fingers at a 24 year old woman. This happened around 3:30pm on 3rd September 2021. There were two people on duty at the Belgachia metro counter. One woman on the right side and one middle-aged man wearing glasses on the left side. This person was extremely rude in his tone, in the way he called me to take the balance and most of all, in the way he clicked his fingers at me, asking me to move. It is highly inappropriate from multiple angles. I want such kind of behavior to be accounted for and such employees should be sensitized about the inappropriateness of this kind of behaviour.

Misbehave of metro security staff
Everyday I take metro from Kavi Nazrul metro station to Chandni Chowk. But today I faced a problem
1. When I was entering the security (male) staff called me addressing "hoy Madam" for checking my bag in automatic scanner. At first the tone he talked me is very rough which is not expecting.
2. I told him to check my bag with hand metal detector but he refused to do that, then I request to check the bag manually as in COVID pandemic situation I am not comfortable to put my bag on the same machine where everyone is putting their bag. He spoke very roughly with me and forced me to give my bag in that machine.
3. They don't have the facility of sanitizing the bag after checking. In this Covid situation when we all are advised to stay proper distance and sanitization protocol then how we could so irresponsible to put our bag in a machine which is never been sanitized. Even their is no option of sanitize the bag after the checking.
4. They sent me to near ticket counter where only one sanitizer machine was there with few amount of sanitizer. I am a vertigo and panic patient. So it is very difficult for me to walk here and there for checking and sanitizing the bag. Metro staff didn't cooperate me. They always used to sit and give instructions.
5. There are 2 sanitizer machines in all metro station but all remain empty most of the time or written with a not "out of service".
6. There was only one security staff who was watching the queue weather anyone is not putting his or her belongings in the machine but my question is if there is only one staff then who would watch the screen? They are not focused to the screen they are more focused to harass the common men specially women.
7. In chandni station they don't have automatic machine they have hand detector. There they have to work, so there is no checking. I think it is nothing but just n eye wash to show off hoe tough our security is. Where they have to do minimum work they don't check. Where it is harassment then they force to put bag because they don't give to any labour for that.
I don't is it the proper site of lodging a complain or not. My request if it is a proper channel please look into this matter. In covid situation all metro station must have the facility of manual checking/ Hand detector. There is a possibility of spread virus from one's bag to another by putting the bag in the same machine.

Metro services for essential staffs during lockdown
My complaint is about the ongoing metro services during the current lockdown situation which is running from dumdum to Kavi Subhash but what about the employees living in areas near dunlop and nearby areas.
I work in bank which is an essential service I live in kamarhati area my employees are calling me to office ...but how will I go to office or how will anyone to go to services living in these areas or nearby..
So what is the need of opening the station in baranagar or dakhineshwar if metro railway is not running here. Kindly start the services from baranagar it's getting really difficult to go to office. It's a request

Open toilet
We reside at a complex adjacent to kabi subhas metro station (west bengal, kolkata) where metro works are going on. The workers are doing open toilet beside our wall. Cannot we expect a minimum arrangement of closed toilets for metro where such a large scale work is going on?

Online recharge done on 18.3.2021,showing success on transaction history, but balance showing nill after 18 hrs.

But yesterday when I travelled in the metro, I came to know that my card is not recharged yet & it is showing old balance only. But till date deducted balance not credited to my bank account also. non refund of security deposit of smart card.

With ref to above i am extremely sorry to complain against the metro railway, kolkata and it was seen so many times that they totally cheat the public in the way of taking sec dep and at the time of refund they make so many types of excuses for which any passanger were ubable to fight.
In my case i had submitted my master card no.[protected] which was totally new active till i used it at the time of entry from rabindra sadan metro stn & just at the time of exiting at belgachia it did not work it became inactive while checked by security personnel at there as well as stn master & suggested to submit it and take refund. Most of thing just a day before i had recharged for rs.500/-
After submitting on 23/8/19 at belgachia station vide r/sc no.[protected], sl - 1904, id - 76169 vide refunded on 30/8/19 rs.560/- by adjusting all discounts and any others on highly pro rata basis except security deposit held with them of rs.100/- which was totally denied to refund on any way & show me so many reasons, again on arguments they were unable to point out in my card any type of damage/torn/mutilation etc etc.
For future it was suggest that it will be refunded only on working condition, i mean i can exchange my card on daily basis as i purchasing the tkt/ token & at the time of exiting i can submitting it to st master. Why anyone will be surrender these type of monthly/ master card?? Why you accept the sec dep if you could not refund back???
Pls take a steps to stop these type of malpractice in public. It is not the question of rs.100/- but it was totally unfair practice followed with passengers for which no law in our legislation made agst govt enterprises...
This type of malpractices spoil the faith in public. Resolve my problem if can do by taking any steps to prevent these.

touched inappropriately

The schedule time was 9:41, the metro reached rabindra sarowar at around 9:45. Therefore delay in metro led to unbearable overcrowding where i was touched inappropriately and it was so crowded that i could only remove the criminal hands from my body. Women helpline facility is absolutely inactive. And this happened because the metro was not on time. Delaying from the schedule time is a regular practice of kolkata metro especially during office hours. With a heavy heart i am bound to blame the metro service for what i have faced today. Unfortunately metro railways service and authorities is making a room for the women to get molested by criminal minded commuters by making the train run late from the schedule time.

newly issued metro card not working

Dear Sir,
I purchased a smart card for metro journey travel. At the time of issuing of metro card no body asked me about submitting any application. But now when I want to surrender my metro card the station manager of Gitanjali metro told me to submit an application regarding surrender of this smart card. Also he is telling that the amount which is there in the smart card will only be credited after 6 or 7 days.
If the metro card is purchased without any application to the station manager then why while submitting these substandard card you need an application.
Also you are travelling from one place to other and suddenly I am asked to write an application and Asked about the blank paper but these people will scold you for this.

New entry to noapara metro station (Kolkata) has become unsafe for ladies after 4pm. Many women have faced harrassment, cat calling and even a man dared to spit on a passengers hand. The area is poorly lighted. Thefts and crime may pop up in near future as well. No security guard or police force is present in that area. Immediate action must be taken.

extra charge deductions

Due to an accident/suicide attempt in metro line i had to come out from the same station where i entered using my smart card, so extra charge rs25 is deducted, even from the counter i didn't get my money back, even i talked to station master regarding this issue but the response was same. This is happened today (2.1.2019) in belgachia metro station.

harassment during bag scanning at the noapara metro station, illbehaviour of metro security staffs

Let me draw your kind attention to the fact that the noapara metro station need to pay much attention from your end. Stating the situation below:
1. Metro staffs of noapara metro station (Specialoly the female security staffs and also the male staffs) are extremely noncooperative in nature. Their behaviour is also very rude towards the common passengers. They talk with common people like the way that they are police and other people are all criminal.
Please depute some much responsible staffs to this end with the replacement of the existing staffs. Passengers are neither criminal nor street beggar. They are not a part of charitable service and each passengers are paying to avail metro service.
2. Please arrange a manual scanner at the metro smart gates as many of the passenger with small luggage are avoiding the scanning point due to long queue at the scanning point, where as they are harassing daily passenger to stand in queue which even lead to failure in catching train in office hours. This was the exact situation i faced today at this station. Being a part of emergency service, i could have the privilege to run away from the situation by showing my i-card but this type of harassment they are doing daily with hundreds of common people.
3. Last of all i must state you that 4-5 months back, all the fire extinguishers of noapara was expired and it was hanging in this expired condition for a long time. After informing this fact to the security staffs, the situation came to notice of them. They repeatedly requested me not to give written complain against this and accordingly i kept their request. This is the exact scenario of noapara metro station.
Please look into the matter immediately, so that common people do not loose their hope towards the complaint resolution section of metro railway. Awaiting for your fast and sharp response.

Their behaviour is also very rude towards the common passengers. They talk with common people like the way that they are police and other people are all criminal.
Please depute some much responsible staffs to this end with the replacement of the existing staffs. Passengers are neither criminal nor street beggar. They are not a part of charitable service and each passengers are paying to avail metro service.
2. Please arrange a manual scanner at the metro smart gates as many of the passenger with small luggage are avoiding the scanning point due to long queue at the scanning point, where as they are harassing daily passenger to stand in queue which even lead to failure in catching train in office hours. This was the exact situation i faced today at this station. Being a part of emergency service, i could have the privilege to run away from the situation by showing my i-card but this type of harassment they are doing daily with hundreds of common people.
3. Last of all i must state you that 4-5 months back, all the fire extinguishers of noapara was expired and it was hanging in this expired condition for a long time. After informing this fact to the security staffs, the situation came to notice of them. They repeatedly requested me not to give written complain against this and accordingly i kept their request. This is the exact scenario of noapara metro station.
Please look into the matter immediately, so that common people do not loose their hope towards the complaint resolution section of metro railway. Awaiting for your fast and sharp response.

no help they only know to arrest

As today i am traveling today my ticket felt on track and i didn't get any help from anyone they advised to contact to station master and she didn't try to help anyway and cgarged me a fine of 265 rs and it's a big value for any middle class man while i am traveling with tickets why I will be charge as without ticket and the behavior of station master and staff was very rude there is no one helpfull i just want the government to refund my amount they told me that anyhow I have to pay the fine i told that it happened accidentally so tgey replied that if you give the fine this time so the accident will not happen next time and it's in a very rude tone they think that they have power so they can do anything they want and they will not help anyone

excess amount deduction for unlocking my card

This is inform to you that i am dipankar chakraborty, living at kolkata, i have traveled in metro from central metro station to park street on 23.01.2018 at 7.30 am. Due to signalling problem and derailing of the metro track i was forced to get off the train. Today (25/1/2018) while trying to pass through the entrance gate of mahatma gandhi road metro station i asked to pay an additional amount of rs 25 where actual fare is rs 5. I request you to kindly look into this matter and give me a detailed explanation as why i was asked to pay the extra amount in the counter for unlocking the card. I also spoke to the station master of mg road metro station but he told me that this is the system. Please clarify in this matter

forceful imposition of penalty at dum dum station exit point

Purchased 2 ticket at Sahid Khudiram station for Dumdum on 28.12.2017 around 6pm. On reaching Dumdum station it reveals that ticket was less priced and destined up to Shyambazar station .We tried to explain this fact to the local in charge at exit gate, but he refused to accept the same.Being a student and non familiar to metro rail, we request him to impose less penalty charge as this is not an intentional activity; But he continuously threat us for severe consequences if not met his demand. The demand amount become double when we asked for receipt for payment. Ultimately we need to pay him Rs.510 vide the receipt number 880648, dtd28.12.2017.
I sincerely believe the Metro authority will investigate this matter and bring justice to me and so many students who are new to kolkata Metro public transport system.

fine charged due to incorrect announcement - metro rail kolkata

I visited recently to khudiram bose metro st. On 4/11/2017.
This was my first visit to this area and i was not know to this place.
There was a incorrect announcement when it reached khudiram bose st. And the announcement done was for garia bazar.
This lead to my incorrect visit to next station and charged me fine of rd.255/-.
As a passenger when we visit a new to place, we relai on announcement and if such announcement are incorrect how can we be compensated.
This is really not expected as the office in charge should have the authority to map the genui issue rather than taking such harassment to passenger.
