The question in sciemce paper held on 16 march, 2018 stating: the ph of a salt used to make tasty and crispy pakoras is 14. Idemtify the salt and write a chemical equation for its formation and list uses.
This question can is quite confusing because salt with ph 14 is naoh and is generally not edible where as salt which is used in making pakoras crispy is nahco3 has ph 9 and not 14. Plz check it and resolve it.

Please acknowledge that class 10 science paper had a question which stated "the ph of a salt used to make tasty and crispy pakoras is 14...". Here the salt used to make pakoras does not have a ph of 14. This created misunderstandings and two answers according to the two criteria (One for pakoras and other for ph value) are possible... Please ensure that either grace marks are given or both the answers are corrected... Hope you will acknowledge...

Mostly people are saying that answer is NaHCO3 buy it has ph 9 . And salt with ph 14 is NaOH. It might ne the answer.
      Daksh Bhargava's [Complaint's author] reply, Mar 17, 2018
I wrote naoh ...just because of the given ph
Very misundertanding in the pakora question and confusion
Please acknowledge that class 10 science paper had a question which stated "the ph of a salt used to make tasty and crispy pakoras is 14...". Here the salt used to make pakoras does not have a ph of 14. This created misunderstandings and two answers according to the two criteria:- both NaOH and NaHCO3 (One for pakoras and other for ph value) are possible. And no one can eat pakoras made of pH 14 ( because he can die) Please ensure that either grace marks are given or both the answers are corrected. Hope you will acknowledge.

The question number 10, second option, incorrectly gives the value of ph as 14. If the answer is baking soda then ph cannot be 14. If the answer is washing soda then it is not edible in pakoras. Please take action and give marks in lieu of this question. The incorrect fact in question was confusing for children writing board exams for the first time.

Many of my friends had doubt in it as the question was not at all clear.. By seeing ph 14 we have written caustic soda... Soo please look after it.. I hope cbse board will not dissapoint any student... Will give grace marks to those students who wrote caustic soda as they are correct on their side.. Waiting for ur prompt reply...

Respected sir, yesterday's science exam was really tricky for us students. The main problem was the lack of time to study as well as during the exam.. Are we an experimental batch sir.. I'm representing a billion students. We are deprived of sleep.. Please realise our pathetic situation. Please liberalise the evaluation. Thanking you yours faithfully students of class 10

I faced a problem in question number 10 (Second optional) of set 2.
The question is about a salt having ph 14 used in pakoras but only salt which is used in pakoras is baking soda but its ph is around 10 and because of the ph given in question, i identified it as caustic soda which might lead to a wrong answer due to incorrect data in question which confused me.

Please refer to the question number 14 of today's science paper of class 10 dated 16.03.2018. The question states that the ph of the salt used to make tasty and crispy pakoras is 14. Any salt with a ph of 14 is highly alkaline, the commonly used edible salt to make pakoras is baking soda which has a ph of 9. Only caustic soda has a ph of 14, but it's not edible and mainly used in manufacture of soaps. Please pursue my complaint and do the needful.

Cbse class 12th accountancy paper was leaked one night before exam. Its unfair for hard working students. Plzz take a re-examination to give justice. Even my friends got the paper one day before the examination. Its my humble request to take a re-examination. Rather than the trust on educational system will be vanished. Its very hard for us to take admission on collages. Plzz take a strict action against it.

Class x science paper no. 31/2, set no. 2, q. No. 10 asked for a salt with ph 14. A salt with ph 14 does not exist. So please look into it as many students were confused because of this. This confusion caused many to mis-interpret it. Students consumed much of their time trying to think about a salt with ph 14. The students who are not at fault suffered, so please give a ’benefit of doubt’ while checking.

This question is from 10th CBSE yesterday exam do you think that this question is right or it has error because PH of baking soda is around 8.6 and 14 is PH of NaoH.

CBSE must take appropriate action & who so ever attempted it be given full marks.
Because students should not suffer due to this error/printing mistake/ etc.

Yes u are right it is a very big problem even I got confused in the exam and anyone who attempted this question must be given full marks
Yes not only this but the question also says that it was used to make the pakora crispy whereas baking soda does the exact opposite and is responsible for fluffyness. Also baking soda is not a salt but a mild base so according to the question that cannot be the answer neither is it base more does it have 14 pH also it does not make crispy pakoras
yes, CBSE should look into this issue and give students full marks if they attempted the question
yes, CBSE should look into this issue and give students full marks if they attempted the question
Yes CBSE should definitely look into this and give full marks to the students who have attemtpted this question.
Yes I agree they should give grace marks for the question
CBSE should give marks to students who had attemted this qus
CBSE should have full marks for it .
I hope CBSE board should consider this mistake and give full mark to all children who appeared this question.
If I have attempted the first part of that question, then I will get Grace Marks or not.
yes. even i got confused after reading that question, therefore i had to attempt other question (the question had choice). cbse should be careful while making these question papers and they should be properly revised before students are handed over the question papers. students are already in a lot of pressure due to board exams and when they are given question papers with errors like this, they get confused. cbse should not only compensate for this mistake but also try to not repeat mistakes like these.
                          thank you.
Yes, CBSE should give students the marks for this misprinted question

                              Respected sirs,
Today (16-march-2018) was are science test. My question paper set is 2 and code no. Is 31/2. There was a wrong question in section a. Question no. 10 the 'or' question in which we were asked to identify a salt added in pakoras to make it tasty and crispy. The answer to this should have been baking soda but further the question added that the ph of the salt is 14. Baking soda is a mild base with it's ph below 10. Thus it's not possible that the answer to the question is baking soda. Many students have written caustic soda as answer because its ph is 14. Further the question asked about the formation and applications of the salt, making it a 3 marker question. Sir i would like to request you to please take note of this and make sure that students should not be disadvantaged because of this error. I humbly request you to please take suitable action. Thank you

The paper was very tough. Just a single day and a huge potion and upon that a twisted and tough paper. We aint robots to study like this. Please grace marks must be added this time.

MOST OF THE STUDENTS ARE NOT ATTEMP ALL QUESTION ALSO MAJORITY OF FAIL THIS IS NOT FAIR CBSE SHOULD THINK ATLEST

Action should be taken. The question has given incorrect value of ph
Yes the 3 marks question was wrong. The value of pH is given wrong. A salt with pH 14 is not at all edible.. it highly corrosive in nature and is never used to make pakora.
CBSE is requested to take action on this.
Yes some action should be taken...just a few people have attempted the ph question in day before yesterday's SCIENCE BOARD PAPER 2018 and so very few people are going to write over here and oppose to it...so please dont think that people are just simply making an issue about it...it should be fair for everyone...its a mistake from the boards side and students have to get grace marks either be it just few people...justice should be done with those people...it was clearly written that ph is 14 ..that ques could have two answers depending on that statement ...please acknowlegde and do something so that its fair for students
3 marks is not a joke...first of all they have full book for the first time and then u make such mistakes in the board paper that makes it confusing for the students...such mistakes should not made in a national level examination...how would students know its a mistake...boards should give grace marks to make it fair for the students who attempted the ph question...action should be taken...and i do repeat again 3 marks is not a joke...3 marks are huge and will effect badly in their percentage...students are writing boards and had full book for the first time...board has to do something.
Please give grace marks for this question... The question is wrong.

This time in class 10 board examination of subject science a question was out of syllabus. It was from physics section about the electric motor from which the principle should have only come but the information about the motor parts was also asked which was out of syllabus. Schools were told to only teach the principle not the working or information about the electric motor components.. It's a humble request to give marks for even attempting the question as it was totally out of syllabus

Sir please, chemistry ka paper leak ho gya chuka hai aur ye aapko bhi pta hai. Isliye chemistry ka paper dobara liya jaye. Isse undeserving student ko fayda na mile. Aur jin teachers ne paper leak kiya hai vo log paper ko leak karne ke bare me na soche. Agar sochte hai to ye bhi soche ki paper leak karne se koi fayda nhi hoga kyunki cbse dubara paper le lenge. Aur unme darr bana rahe. Delhi me cbse hai aur student viswas karte hai ki cbse nhi padhne wale student ko pass nhi karega aur jo student mehnat karte hai unko hi pass karenge. I hope aap samajh rhe hai ki mai kya kehna chahta hu. Please sir chemistry ka paper dubara lijiye.
                                    Thankyou

But the last question had two parts and the first part was not from our novel. I demand CBSE to solve this issue. As i told i only answered the question regarding our novel.

                                      Sir,
This is my humble request to you, to arrange a re-examination of accountancy. This is because the cbse class 12th account got leaked in social media.

I being a free and fair student would like to request you to take steps regarding the matter. The believe of the public on the cbse board is going down, as the undeserving students will get more and it will also increase the cut off in colleges.

If the board decides to not take re-exam i would also loose my hope on cbse.

                                      Thank you
