[Resolved] Cinepolis India — people not allowed to bring their own edibles despite the new rule
The hon' bombay high court issued an order to all the multiplex theatres that movie viewers should be allowed to carry their own food inside the cinema halls and not be forced to buy overpriced food from the multiplex food stalls. The rule was to come into effect right from 1st of august 2018. Yet, when i booked 2 tickets on 15th aug. 2018 at cinepolis theatre (Magnet mall, bhandup west) our bags were checked and we were told that outside eatables won't be allowed inside the cinema hall. Upon enquiring further we were told that they have not yet received the "gr copy" of the hc's decision and probably would not even allow outside food in the near future, despite the court's order. This is not only an insult towards the hon' court's orders but also violation of consumers' rights. Please look into the matter and make sure the orders are followed by all such arrogant multiplex theatres asap. Was this information helpful?
