TODAY I got a message for my mobile that i had won GBP 200000.00 in the 2009 COCA COLA, mobile draw to claim contact TM-LUCKY.W on [protected]@hotmail.com ...my name is annpurna omar... my number [protected]..sir plz let me know is it true that the message i had got ...waiting fr ur reply please make it fast?

I am very confused to see how people will believe in such SMS. Even i got the same SMS but any one after looking at mail ID will definetly find that this is fake. Check out the E-Mail address they are asking to reply. It is [protected]@Live.com, IF SHELL REALLY has sent this they could have asked to reply back to shell address might be some [protected]@shell.com and not to any public and freely available E-Mail address.

Coming part to the SMS from provider i got an SMS from Name "TM-Kudos" and used to get SMS from a name TM-IndiaTdy, TA-MEGAMART. If you look at names from which i used to get SMS there is a similarity. It looks this has a name from service provider otherwise generally service provider will broadcast only number along with SMS and once if your phone book has that number it shows the name other wise it shows the number, but here it is different as we dont have entry in our phone book but still there will be a name in SMS. So i feel there must be some tieup between both provider & sender otherwise naming is not possible. We should be very careful while replying to such messages.
