[Resolved] Airtel — Airtel SIM card not working in Dubai | |
I am an NRI working in Dubai and Visit my native in India once or twice a year. I had subscribed to a Airtel prepaid life time service SIM card in my last visit to India in the month of April'09. My SIM No is[protected] H 3 and Mobile phone no is +91-[protected]. It was explained to me by the Airtel Agent that I need to make a call of atleast Rs 200/- in 6 months to keep the SIM card active. So I was just trying to make an international call from this SIM but while using this SIM, it doesnt indicate any mobile network in Dubai. Now I am about to complete my continuous stay of 6 months outside india getting this SIM card from Airtel and hence I wish to use it and top up further to keep my SIM active. Notably this is not the first time it is happening to me. Earlier also I had got one SIM Card ( No HLR-2 [protected] and Mobile No +91-[protected] which was made inactive by Airtel because of this same simple reason of not using the SIM for 6 Months though I had balance credit on my phone while leaving from India which also I lost without using the phone. This time also I had kept sufficient Credit balance on my SIM ( more than Rs 400/-) while leaving India in April -09 so that I could use it from Dubai just to keep it active. I simply request you to look into the matter and provide a satisfactory service to NRI customers which is lacking badly with Airtel as of now. Kindly let me know the status oy my SIM card and advice accordingly how to keep Airtel SIM with me for further use in India without any pain. My Indian airtel SIM card is blocked due to insufficient balance and once i contacted the customer care my old SIM card which I possess cannot be reactivated and only a new SIM card can be obtained from airtel store. This will not serve the purpose of the customers visit any foreign country and it is a push to use international roaming only which is very expensive and push us to the brink of losing a contact number. Customer friendly services are mere these days with airtel too. This issue must be sorted out with airtel once the customer is willing to pay and submit the essential documents through emails.

I definitely need this number to be active, as all my transactions happen through.
The last recharge i did was for 35Rs/- on 29th of August and number is still active.
Please let me know what has to be done to keep the number active on long term.

I have one airtel connection from India which I have been using in dubai for bank transaction and all. now since last two months the sim is inactive and no network is showed. I tried to mail airtel but they always send the pre drafted message everyting to update mail id. I cannot update the same as the mobile number is inactive and no network is displayed and cannot receive the sms. all my banking transaction are based on this sim. please advice what to do. anything I can do while I am in dubai. it is really frustrating. I am Saheb Paul. I have also kind of same issue. My airtel sim got automatically deactivated. As per India customer care, I need to replaced the sim. There is no service Center in Dubai. And it is impossible for me to go to Mumbai got a SIM card. I am ready to pay all the cost for delivery of SIM card. Or I can go to Dubai any shop to collect.
