[Resolved]  Airtel — Airtel Mobile Customer Service

This is Iftekhar Ansari and this is in reference to my cell phone number [protected] i.e. an Airtel connection. I got the service in 2nd week of last month i.e. July and was pretty happy with the service until one day I receive a sms from Airtel saying your limit has exceeded so please pay Rs. 1000 to avoid disconnection. I am new to Chennai and because of language barrier it caused me inconvenience to locate a airtel payment center. I called up the customer service and mentioned that they can send an executive to my office and I can provide them with a cheque.The executive mentioned that they cannot send someone out there and said you can just type in CASH and the pincode and SMS it to 121 and you will get a list of the agencies that except cash payment in your area. I did that a day back and I still have not received the SMS. Today taking the pain I went searching for a payment centre and after spending Rs. 200 in an auto, and totally exausted I found a Airtel gallery approximately 4 kilometers from my home. I went there and made a cash payment at around 3.00 pm in the afternoon. After giving the cash payment I confirmed by calling a number to see if the outgoing was working and yes it was and I made the last call for the day at 5.10 IST. Now in the night at around 10.45 pm when I tried to make a call I got a IVR on Airtel customer service that your outgoing has been disconnected due to non payment and the same would be activated within an hour. I tried calling the customer service number and it would not allow me to connect to an executive and the last message it gave me was your line would be activated within an hour and got disconnected. This happened several times and finally I had to get my friend's cell phone to call up the customer service and when I had a word with the executive he mentioned that cash payment takes 24 hours to get updated. (This really zapped me. Vodafone and BPL would update that right away on the spot. I made the payment at the Airtel gallery)

I then told the executive to pass the call to his superior who could help me. The executive placed the call and when he returned he mentioned "Right now there is no superior present" (This is another thing that shocked me. A customer support center without the management.) After mentioning how urgent this was he said he would be able to activate the lines within 2 hours. But that wouldn't work for me. I had to make some urgent phone calls. He finally mentioned that he will activate it within 20 minutes and again at the end mentioned that it's going to take 2 hours and hung up on my face without an acknowledgement.

Here are something I want to point out.

Why should it take 24 hours to make a note of a cash payment when the payment was made at the Airtel gallery.
The SMS sent to customer service never returned with results. Why?
The CSR was not able to help me, didn't escalate the call and hung up without an acknowledgement. Is this called customer service?
It's 08.51 PM 2nd august, in the night almost 24 hours since the line has been deactivated and 29 hours approximately after making the payment and the line has not been activated yet.
The CSR mentioned the line would be active in 20 min, max 2 hours. It's 24 hours and nothing done yet. IS THIS AIRTEL?

I'm totally distressed with Airtel. I never had such a bad experience with any service provider. How do you expect me to recommend Airtel to any one I know. This is really not appreciated and I need a resolution at the earliest.

I have a handset of Nokia 6630 I was going to format my mobile; it asked me for PIN number, i entered 12345 many times but it denied and began to ask for PUK code. My Mobile Number is [protected], I recharged my number with 205 on[protected]. the remaining balance in my account is almost Rs. 64. please send my PUK code to this Number: [protected]. or to my Email ID. I spend sometime 3000, 2000 and usually more than 1000 in a month in calling STD. i was in roaming when it happened to my number. please solve my problem to continue using AirTel services.

I have received a Bill for mobile number [protected], for which I have not been issued with any SIM card from the company till date and the bill reflects an amount of Rs. 607 being charged for the month of February 2009. The calls have also been made from this SIM illegitimately, without my knowledge this is highly objectionable and against the customer rights.
In this context details are as follows: Representatives of Airtel had contacted me at my residence and advised me for taking new mobile connection for which I have supplied them necessary documents and a CHEQUE FOR Rs. 500. WITHIN 10 MINUTES OF THEIR DEPARTURE FROM MY HOME I HAD GIVEN THEM A CALL REQUSTING NOT TO PROCESS MY APPLICATION AND RETURN ME THE DOCUMENTS SUPPLIED TO THEM. THEY HAD TOLD THAT THE DOCUMENTS ARE SUBMITTED TO OFFICE AND THEREAFTER I RECEVIED CALLS FROM VARIOUS OFFICIALS FROM AIRTEL HIERACHY, ASKING ME THE REASONS FOR DOING SO, AFTER EXPLAINING MY REQUIREMENTS I WAS TOLD THAT I WILL NOT BE ISSUED WITH ANY NEW CONNECTIONS.
But today I was amazed to find a bill for the number [protected] issued to me and also showing the particulars of calls made from this SIM. May I kindly know HOW and WHY I have been issued a bill without issuing any SIM card or any answer to the particulars that were made in telephonic talk with the company officials?
I THERFORE KINDLY REQUEST YOU TO RETURN MY DOCUMENTS AS WELL THE AMOUNT OF THE CHEQUE ISSUED TO YOUR REPRESENTATIVE AT THE EARLIEST AND ALSO DETAILS ABOUT CALLS MADE FROM THE MENTIONED SIM ALLOTED AGAINST MY DOCUMENTS. THIS MAY BE DESIRED FOR SUPPLYING PARTICULARS TO THE APPROPRIATE AUTHORITIES IN CASE OF DEMAND.

i m neeraj, airtel custmer executive has blocked my number, whenever i want 2 talk with customer care it says me to send sms on 121 by writing airtel but i need some other informations. so plze unblock my number my number is [protected]. i need lots of informations about offers, so plze do something.
I'm having prepaid campus group nos. [protected], [protected], [protected] & [protected], there was charges of Rs.0.10 per minute for evening hrs and weekend period but now a days you are charging Rs.1.00 per minute. Many time I have contacted ur 121 servise center but I cant get proper respose from ur servise center ... You are therefore requested to kindly see and correct the error or ur servise previously provided (Rs.0.10 p.m)to my nos. as indicated [protected], [protected], [protected] & [protected]. Reply awaited.

This is Harikumar.s, i have Haryana airtel preaid mobile no is : [protected].

last one week i have try to top up my mobile through online, but is not top up and i receive one statement for, your noumber is not correct,
i already complainet in custmer care several times, but i didnt receive solution,

this is my complaint no: CANRC[protected] i complaint on march 2nd

no: CANRC[protected] i complaint on march 1st,

ple here too i didnt receive one solution, kind help me, now i have very very low balance in my mobile Rs.0.02 so now i didnt call to customer care also,

any body have solution kind advice me, what i do next step.

or otherwise i change my mobile customer other then airtel.

I am R.P.Singla holding airtel mobile tel # [protected]. The connection has earlier been in the name of corporate employee Sisir Kumar but was being used by me. I approched Airtel Sector 34 office ( Chandigarh ) with my ID n address proof to make amends. The Airtel employee there took my ID but did not make amends. In result I am not getting details of calls n unable to find correctness of charges SMS-ed on phone. Sick of this behaviour I activated my old Reliance connection # and stopped actively using Airtel service for over 4 months now. Surprisingly however I am being conveyed on SMS to pay Rs 1251/- which amount has only surprised me. I am getting tele reminders also but no one is prepaired to send call details.Will Airtel remedy it ?
