Airtel Prepaid — Fake Connection

To whomsoever it may concern,

Subject: Complaint against wrong prepaid connections against my name

I would like to bring it your notice and also lodge a complaint that today i.e. 8.03.2010 around 1400 hrs (2.00 pm in the afternoon) a person from Airtel Prepaid came to my residence to verify 2 new connections that supposedly were applied by me.

In spite of my repeated refusals the inefficient, uneducated and unaffected man kept confirming if it was my address or not. It was an arduous task to convince him that I live at the mentioned address but have not applied for 2 new Airtel Prepaid connections. The dangerous part of the incident is that the person had all my person details, for e.g. - NAME, FATHER'S NAME, and ADDRESS etc.

I immediately called the customer services of Airtel Prepaid and spoke to one of the executives, who in turn assured me that no one can misuse the details and even if someone gets a connection on my address they'll later call the person and fix the issue. The approach was casual and reflected the lack of training given to these executives in Airtel. This matter can very well be a matter of concern if these fake connections are in wrong hands, it can result into a security threat to me and the society.

I hope that Airtel (Prepaid Department) takes the matter with seriousness and solve the issue by deactivating / canceling the said connections with immediate effect which reflect under my details.

I am also lodging an FIR from security point of view and also taking further action and reporting the same to appropriate authorities.

The numbers mentioned at the end of the complaint are my current and only airtel prepaid numbers, had to mention it otherwise the inefficient and casual staff of Airtel Prepaid may discontinue these numbers due to lack of ability to comprehend the words.

I have purchased a mobile set and Airtel connection from M/s.Univercell on 05.07.09 with a prepaid life time connection. And on 23.02.09 after 7months inspite of mobile phone is working out going calls were cut( currency of Rs.200 available) without informing any thing to me. Airtel company is very nicely swindling public money like this I belive. Since I was on tour I coul'd not contact the concerned people, I came back to my place, Bangalore on 02.03.10, I went and met the people at Whitefield branch of M/s.Universal, they are so adament that they are not having any business with me, once they sell it is none of their business even to contact Airtel people, after much persuation, he asked me to submit fresh application with photo and identification card(I gave all) and he told me with in 48 hrs phone will activate, inspite of 72hrs no action came through.
Again when went and asked for it, he contacted one Mr.Kiran of Airtel, and he promised me within 48 hrs he will activate my number, telling my number is recycled.I do not know how a life time SIM can be recycled.But now Mr.Kiran's phone number is also not working. Kiran"s number [protected] My number is [protected].now I would like to know whether my number can be activated or not, or shall I approach consumer court.
