Auto RickShaws-Pune — Overcharging/Misbehaving by autodrivers

We always have to travel by auto rickshaws in Pune as we don't have our own conveyance due to the fact that we are not from Pune. Auto Rickshaw drivers in Pune take advantage of this thing and charge us a lot more than the meter rate. We argue with them to go as meter says but since they know that we don't have any other choice so they demand a fixed amount that is generally much higher than what comes up if we go by meter. They are very troublesome. Sometimes they even use abusive language. Every outsider in Pune faces this problem because generally they don't have their own conveyance. They have no other choice. So these auto rickshaw drivers must be taught a lesson so that they can't charge higher than the meter rate to anyone.

Auto Rickshaw — Meter 20% higher than what it is supposed to be.

I have been facing auto rickshaw's having really freaking high meters for quite some time now. It is just extremely stressful to keep arguing with these auto rickshaw fellows.

When I tell them let us settle this in the police station; they say "FINE" and after some time they just ask you to get off you are returned back the appropriate change.

But there should be an end to this.

Today morning 7th August 09 I travelled with a friend from Juhu to Santacruz (Arya Samaj) on linking road. The daily fare is Rs.50/- the meter showed Rs.62/- to be paid. Now that is a 20% high meter.

Pune Auto Rickshaw — Over charging

This complaint is on Auto Rickshaws having Registration No. MH-12 AQ-4025, Driver's Name is Anil who has over charged me on 14 Oct 09. On questioning, he started queralling and fight.

The auto rickshaw bearing no KA 05 B 1154 has a tampered meter. The guy charged me 57 rupees from Mahalakshmi Layout to Sanjaynagar, where as I have travelled the same distance on many occasions and found the meter to be only 46 rupees.

This is big time fraud. I request the concerned officials to kindly look into such incidents.

Auto Rickshaw — tampered meter

Today morning (30/7/10) I have travelled by a rickshaw(MH-02,QA-2006) from Thakur village to Charcop Kandivali.The meter was tampered so generally it shows 4.50 to 4.70 for this distance but the meter shows 5.70.whn i refused to pay that amout and asked the driver to visit nearby police station the person started using abusive language.So I shall request you to take a proper measure to this offender.

This is to inform you that Autorikshaw number AP13X1971, is running with tampered meter which is showing almost double the cost. I had travelled in the above mentioned autorickshaw on 28th August evening 8.30 pm from Balanagar to Neredmet X roads. The distance is only 10 kms which costs Rs.72/-. but the above mentioned autorickshaw has shown the distance as 20 kms and the amount was Rs.140/- which is double the cost. PLEASE TAKE APPROPRIATE ACTION AGAINST THE AUTO DRIVER else the public travelling will be cheated. Also please publish an article in the leading newspaper regarding auto rickshaw complaints as there are several auto drivers in Hyderabad running tampered meters.

I wish to lodge a complaint about faulty meter in auto rickshaw bearing no.MH03 M-4781.
The driver charges exhorbitant fare as a result of this tampered meter.

The auto rickshaw no MH 02 UA 3971 meter was tampered.I traveled from kandivali E to kandivali -W
at 9.30 am and found charged more on reaching my destination.Please take proper measure.

The meter of the auto rickshaw MH03M 9782 is tampered. Everyday I travel from my house to Vikhroli Station and the meter reading comes between 1.2 or 1.3, but this rickshaw had meter reading 1.7. When I confronted he argued and said go and complain wherever you want. I wish I had so much time to take him to a police station immediately.

On 6th January 2011, I took an auto rickshaw at 9.45 a.m. auto rickshaw number is MH 03 AK 3177 from Malad East to Andheri West. The meter was completely tampered and when i told the auto rickshaw driver, he completely denied regarding the tampered meter. He spoke very loudly and in an abusive language. When i told him let's go and check your meter, he said he doesn't have time for it.

I need to know what kind of action would be taken after writing about this complaint.

I am Amit Malde a resident of A-10, Mahavir Jyot, Opp. Odeon Shopping Centre, Vallabh Baug Lane, Ghatkopar (East), Mumbai. This is complain against the Auto Rickshaw Driver for tampering the meter and charging in excess. Auto Rickshaw no. is MH 03 R 500. I board on the Rickshaw from Nirmal Nagar, Near D-mart, Mulund (west) for journey to Rajawadi, Ghatkopar (east) at 10.57 pm on 5/1/11 (wednesday). On reaching the destination at 11.25 pm, when I ask the Rickshaw driver, he said Rs.157 and I was shocked, because I came by highway and that too at night when there was not much traffic on the road (it should have hardly cost me somewhere around Rs.80). So I told him this is not fair and tell me how much I should pay and after some arguement we decided to go to nearest police station and after reaching there charges were around Rs.180 according to his meter reading. And hence police officer asked me to pay him Rs.125 and solve the matter. When I told police office that his meter is tampered, he told me to go to Grahak Panchayat and get the issue resolved. It being so late in night, I paid Rs.125, but I want the Auto Rickshaw driver to be punished severely. As he was shameless and was not even scared when we went to Police station. I dont want anyone else to be cheated in the same way as he cheated me. So please look into the matter at the earliest.

I often take a auto rickshaw to go from Veer Savarkar Garden, Borivali to Behraum Baag, Jogeshwari. The meter reading near Toyota showroom, Malad is around 38-39. Auto rickshaw number MH 02 UA 3819, was well above that. When I asked him about it, he refused to accept it and claimed the meter was all right.

There needs be some way to tackle this problem. I have submitted a similar complaint earlier in this forum.

We happened to travel from Powai to Vikhroli station (via Kailash) in a auto rickshaw (MH 03 V 4228).

Generally its cost anywhere between Rs 32-35. But this chap charged us Rs 40 as the meter was quite fast compared to a normal meter.

The rickshaw with the following no: MH 12 AQ 2383 has a tampered meter with arrogant driver in Kothrud area had a distress with him and found that he charged me more rather his meter was just running too fast for my regular travel destination.

The auto rickshaw no SA1868 meter was tampered. I traveled from Veera Desai to Waloka at 9.00 am and found charged more on reaching my destination. Please take proper measure.

Yesterday, 23rd May I took an auto from Mulund to Chembur which I do every day, the fare for which comes to approx Rs. 125/-. As I neared Chembur I had a look at the meter which already read 130 so I told the driver that his meter was running way to fast and that I would send in a complaint about him. Thereafter, I noticed that the meter did not register any further and it was stuck at 130 till I reached home. I brought this to his notice, he just shrugged and said you pay me whatever you pay everyday. It is obvious that these crooks have a switch or some device on the dashboard by which they can manipulate the meter. I did not get off near my home as I was afraid that once I complained he may come after me. Why do we honest citizens have to put up with these rogues on a daily basis. Overcharging by auto drivers has happened to me often. However, I have 2 auto numbers where I was overcharged.

Richshaw Meter tampering — Rickshaw meter tampering

Travelled in MH02 X2667.97 (autorickshaw) this morning around 6.45am from Andheri station east to Hiranandani, Ventura and had to pay a hefty sum of Rs. 90, meter reading 70. Reached Hiranandani via Seepz without any stops for signals, traffic etc. Reached destination at 7:00am.
Does meter jam have any effect? When I refused to pay the entire sum and informed the driver that it comes to around 53-60 per the meter reading, he taunts that he has increased the meter speed just for me while he decreases it for others. This hasn't been a one time experience. Forced to log this complaint as I'm sick of paying extra unnecessarily and I'm super sick of being fleeced by rickshaw meters.

This is to bring to your notice about the concerns a lot of people are facing in Mumbai i.e. the tampered meter in rickshaws and taxi.

We all understand that there has been a unreasonable hike in transportation fare, however even after that we see a lot of rickshaws who have tampered meters and end up paying 20% more than the actual fare.

I was in a rickshaw (Rickshaw no MH - 03 - AK - 7449) from Sakinaka to Andheri east station which usually cost Rs 50 without traffic and Rs 60 maximum in traffic. The meter reading was so fast that the rickshaw driver asked me to pay Rs. 80. We request you to please take corrective actions against such rickshaw driver who force us tp pay such huge amount.

Looking forward for some positive response and hope to see genuine meter readings going forward..

This is to complain about the autorickshaws plying in the Marol, Andheri(East) area. I am a senior citizen and daily traveller. Since, I travel on a fixed route, I have observed the autorickshaw meters show incorrect tariff. I request the RTO to take strict action. Thank-you.

Recently I took an auto from Green Park to Dwarka. For a journey that usually costs me around Rs.132 to 135, the meter reading came out to be Rs.182. The rickshaw driver refused to acknowledge that the meter had been tampered with and instead misbehaved.

Complaint on faulty meter. I usually pay around Rs. 30 from Vasant Lawns to Teen Haath Naka. But today the rickshaw meter was too fast and rigged. He charged me 35/- even though he didnt have to wait long at the signals. He was trying to break the signal at Cadbury when a cop saw him he just took a sudden U turn. The number is MH04 - AE4912

Auto Rickshaw — high fares charged

it was a weekend trip to mysore with 5 friends on 31-may-2008.
reached city dasprakash hotel from railway station nominally charged at Rs 20 by a taxi. with no availability of rooms decided to try luck in J.L.B road or ramaswamy circle. so six o[censored]s(friends) came to gandhi square and boarded two autos. both auto drivers discussed something and they told us that only one meter will be running cos the other meter is not working properly. we agreed upon this, since i am regular visitor to mysore. fare from gandhi square to ramaswamy circle shud not exceed more than Rs 20.but that day we were taken for a ride. the auto number plate read KA 19 8111.
i was shocked to see the meter changing fares, for a moment i felt i was looking at a counting machine or something similar because it was rolling out fares almost every second.
finally when we reached ramaswamy circle the meter reading was Rs 40. when told him that the fare shud not be more than 20, he started arguing crap. when the other auto arrived, the
driver of the other auto was literally mouthshut and we were made to pay Rs 40 so with the other other auto not running with the meter also charged us 40. finally we had paid 80Rs which was supposed to be not more than 35-40Rs.
so the complaints are auto meters are so badly tampered that they are running double fare and the other complaint i would like to put across is most of the autos wont roll the meter and just gives us a round figure of fare which will be more than a taxi fare.
i dont know who is the concerned person or department who looks into these cases but if these are resolved at the earliest, it would be good for regular commuters as well as frequent visitors like us.

I am a student and I also face the same problem, especially whenever I'm coming back to Pune from my hometown.The buses, most of them coming from Goa to Pune do not enter Pune.they drop the passengers at Swargate or at the by pass, these buses reach Pune at 6, 6.30 .The auto rickshaws at these two points never go according to the meter.They charge double (even though its past time), argue, refuse to take you if you do not pay them double, or triple.They go to such an extent that they carry a fake meter card.Unfortunately at that point i have never seen a police officer.

I completely agree with the complaint. Auto Rickshaw Driver charge from 15 to 20 per km and they don't have electronic meters installed and charge what they feel like.
I my self have paid Rs 50 for a 2.5km journey from Bhajghera crossing to Sector 23 gurgaon.

Why is the Gurgaon Adminstration so much insensitive? While Delhi has meter system of Auto. Why is Gurgaon adminstration not doing anything. I feel like cheated everyday i come by Auto for 6 Kms (from Sec 17 to Udyog Vihar IV) I pay 80-90 Rs everyday. In Delhi for the same distance I dont think it would be more than 50 Rs. When will these things end up.. Its due to poor public transports, there are increase in no. of private vechiles... increase in polution. Why is Govt. not taking serious actions against these things?

Please any one help me out whom I should contact for this.
Even for the previous complaints actions has not been taken since 2011..

Today i when i travel from kukatpally "y" junction to lumbini park and meter for auto was charged Rs.110/-. previously also it charged appro. Rs.100-110/- only. but today when i return from lumbini park to kukatpally (from where i start)the auto charge was Rs.165/-. Eventhough i argue with him for few minutes, finally i paid total. and the auto no is AP10w3192. and i easily guess by autowala behaviour that he is doing some manipulation with meter. so, i request you to kindly take an action against that autowala.

I hired a rickshaw from Puna hospital with my grand father who was ill, i traveled to Bibwewadi. The meter shown 7.00 reading, which was already more than i usually get for the same route and distance. Then that rickshaw driver rudely and using bad language asked me for 105rs fare which was supposed to be 68rs only. This disappointed me, I asked him to show the meter fare on his sheet, but he didn't show. He said he is needs to be payed more as he will need to get back long way on the main road. He started insisting loudly and using bad language for 100rs fare. I was not in a situation for verbal fight because my grandpa was already standing besides me (waiting for me as he is not able to walk properly because of his oldness and illness) and also my neighbours will get disturb, so I just took a snap of his vehicle number (MH 12 FA 2470) and I hope no one will get cheated like this...

sir, i don't know when u posted this complaint but i think no action has been taken by manipal police or consumer court to resolve this problem up till now this for sure. at night just after 7 auto rickshaw drivers start charging double.that too not by meter but their own fairs. none of the auto rickshaw driver cares for the authority that they r wrong doers and will be punished.today i asked an auto rickshaw driver to start his meter he asked me to get down from his auto.

I regularly take auto from Bhikaji Cama Bhawan R.K.Puram to Munirka bewteen 20:00pm I asked him to start the meter but he said its ok don't worry you just what you paid always but after travelling he asked me to Rs. 50 From Bhikaji Cama Bhawan R.K.Puram to Munirka the distance between not more than 2km, autual charges is Rs. 20-22.when I asked him to why he is not start the meter why he is charging more than the meter, he suddenly use the abusive language, force me to pay what he is asking. After all i have paid but this is very in delhi about autorikshaw traveller.

Auto Rickshaw — Charging more than the meter reading

The auto no is MH03 M 5375. The autowala was asking more than the money as per the meter. He said he will charge 20Rs more than meter. I had to go to airoli from LTT station

This always happen especially in Navi Mumbai area. Autowalas never travel by meter. They already fixed charge for all destinations. againt meter cards provided by Govt. recently I travelled from Airoli to Mahape based on Meter. It was only 54/-. May the driver was ignorant about fixed rate i.e. between 80/- and 100/-. This clear evidence about looting of mumbai autowalas from its customers.

auto complaint — Excess fare

I have seen this happening many times now. I have come to Bangalore few times from Chennai or Coimbatore in overnight buses and got down at Silk Board which is a major junction in Bangalore early in the morning between 5-6 AM.

None of the autos available at that time come by meter and ask for exorbitant rates. They ask for Rs. 200/- even for going upto Jayanagar 5th block. One is already tired due to the bus journey. On top of that you have luggage and then you to bargain with these guys on the side of the road. This is very stressful.

I hope the authorities do something in this regard and dont let these autofellows fleece the customers.

Auto rickshaw registration no MH 03 V 826 Date: 14th July 09 Time: 7:40 PM Location: Dahisar Station East refused to take me to desired location and arrogantly stated that he will forcibly take me out of the rickshaw when I asked him to take me to my home. When I told him that I will complain to police station he told me go ahead as he has some connection with the police station and as he was running meter from previous ride he was about to blame me saying that I haven't paid his fare at the police station. Hence I am complaining this matter to your respective authority in hope of taking action against this situation which is very common nowadays. Kindly take the action against all such rickshaw and bus drivers who behave arrogantly and does not serve passengers and refuses from their duty.

The auto rickshaws at malad goregaon stations (west) deny taking a fare most of the times. They either rush away with half or full meter down. If not the case they deny a fare. About 80% of the crowd travels to in orbit, hyper city, mind space and Toyota. We need to spend at least 15 -20 mins to get a rickshaw. because of this trouble ppl have started sharing the autos and the rickshaw drivers object to that.I have complained at the local police station and also the RTO but to no heed. At times we have seen the traffic hawaldars around but they are busy eating or talking amongst themselves.

On 28/12/2010 , Tuesday , I travelled from Borivali (West), near Chamunda Motors, to Goregaon (East), near Oberoi International School by Rickshaw Number: MH-03-AA-6085 , Driver's Name: Rahul Gupta. I had to pay him Rs.72 & just by looking at the meter I felt it was moving too quickly.

On 19.02.2011 i took rickshow ( MH 02 Z 249) from Goregaon stn.(East) for sonawala Cross road at 6.25 PM. after reaching sonawala compound i told the driver from sonawala i have to visit Gajraj Compound approx 1km from sonawala. But he refused to go there saying i should have told him before. Meter was down that time i didn't gave him money or drop the rick. so i said ill pay by meter at gajraj compound but he refused.( It's not that we fixed ill pay him Rs.11 from goregaon Station East to Sonawala compound (Approx.).08 Km & i told him that i have to go somewhere Else & ill pay only Rs.11/- Meter was on & i was willing to pay the fare as per meter reading All the way From STATION TO SONAWALA COMPOUND & FROM THERE TO GAJRAJ COMPOUND ANOTHER 1KM.)but he said he will restart the meter. only thing i came to know is he took advantage. He heard me talking on the cell that i want to rush to Gajraj compound Urgently. but i had to get down at sonawala compound. Its not the matter of another Rs11/- Taking advantage & when i told him ill make complent re-laxly he said go & do the same. his age must be somewhere 35 to 40 or little more. muslim (Dadhi & White cap)Kazi type.
I asked him his name & licence no but he refused to do the same.
If the fare is increased for Rs.9 to Rs.11 Or Taxi Rs.14 to Rs.16 & passengers are still on Toll is big disgrace.

Due to work i travel very often from Goregaon to Bhandup. Route & distance is same. 3 to 4 year back & now.( pawai, Hiranandai road is now traffic free) Since last few months Out of 10 Rickshow 6 Rickshow meter show reading from 11.60 to 12.50 That's shocking ( EVERY TIME DIFFRENT RICKSHOW ) & remaining 4 rick. meters were in between 9.70 to max 10.10.
More than Year back Rickshow Meter use to show 9.50. 9.60 to 10.00 or 10.10 max. From Goregaon to Bhandup. Same for Goregaon to T junction.

Fare Rs.9 to Rs.11. still fast meter?
From T junction to Goregaon before it was 9.50 to 9.90. same story like bhandup Goregaon.
I can understand if the CAB or Rick owner Refuse to go to customers Desired destination ( Bhai mery marji ) but fast meter?
There few good Cab & Rick owner with true meter but after all money!!

RTO Tariff card has fare upto 10.00 - Rs.128.00 & its not known how much for Meter 12.70? I had to pay Rs.175/- no other choice.
10.10- Rs.?
10.20- Rs.?
10.30- Rs.?

My humble request to RTO department is that IF POSSIBLE START THE SAME TRANSPORT SYSTEM LIKE GOA. In mumbai we have BEST Undertaking in GOA Kadamba but due to Private transport.
Passenger is KING.
HAAT DAKHAWA BUS THAMBAVA.
Compitsion like mobile call before was Costing Rs.14 now Zero paisa per Second.
Here BEST bus hardly halts @ stop. some time Driver or Conductor is in hurry. Don't have Change (Ting. bus ruki passenger niche) And will give advice get the change & take the Bus. Not happen with me. I seen. Feel sorry to see that. Some time Bus halts way ahead of Bus-stop or some time little further.
Moral BUS, RICK & TAXI IS KING HERE.

Auto-rickshaw — auto-rickshaw meter too fast

I took auto rickshaw DLIR G-4370 this morning from Safdarjung Terminal to Nehru Place. The meter was jumping really fast and the fare was inflated. When i asked the driver about it, he got rude and started to mis-behave. I paid him in full though but he never accepted that his meter was fast. I told him several times that i take auto every morning for last 3 years from here only but he started to misbehave.

I request the concerned authorities to please take immediate step and stop such harrassment to users.

I want to file a complaint against a auto rikshaw guy, as his meter was too fast & was very rude. So help me where i can give his complaint.

Autorickshaw — Charging of excess fare through tampered meter

This is a problem which I face daily i.e either the auto drivers will charge excess fair or otherwise they will not be ready to take me to the destination. There are are also instances where there are tampering of auto meter. Today, I faced a situation where there is tampering of meter resulting in excess rate. Today morning, I was coming from Kaggadasapura to CMH for which meter charge is only around Rs. 35 but in the meter it was Rs. 54. I refused to pay the excess amount and there ocuured argument. I demanded the driver to go to Indiranagar Police Station for which I got abusive reply which I do not wat mention here. The driver dragged me out of the auto and I was assulted. Anyway I gave him only Rs. 35/-. I have already given a complaint to the Indiranagar Police Station.
During the struggle I could not notice the auto number. However other details I could write from the display card inside the auto and the same is already given to the Police.

I request that this is to be taken very seriously as this is a daily problem everybody faacing from the autodrivers.

Excess Auto Fare — Excess Auto Fare

Mu self working in Metro Rail Project at Wadala and since last 1.5 year i am traveling by the same route means after Sion station i moved from footpath till that Bus stop near by Aparna Restaurant and after that I used to take Auto to Wadala RTO Gate. THe fair for such distance usually take 26 to 30 Rs. (including heavy traffic) But today morning when I took Auto from there since Priyadarshani Bus Stop the Auto Meter was showing only 15 Rs. but at the time whe we reached at RTO gate it was become 40 Rs. and when I object that Auto driver misbehaved me and told me that I am free to complain anywhere. he told me that I have to note dowm his Auto no. Means he has no guilt no same nothing. I have noted his no. that is MH03R - 8311. Sir I am requesting you to take suitable action not because he has taken excess fare from me but because he has no fear of law .
This is for your necessary action.

auto — Excess Fare Charged by Auto

Hi,

I am dropping this complaint after being terribly disgusted by an auto driver over excess fare. Usually when I come to office the meter reads somewhere around 4.8 to 5.1, for which I am required to pay Rs 36 - 40. Whereas today (09/11/09) it went up to 7.5, not to mention the meter was already tapered and the driver took a Rs 50 note and never returned the change inspite to telling him to do so a lot of times. The Auto registration no is MH12 R3482. Any action on this will be highly appreciated.

I travelled in auto from RBI layout to Hampinagar
via ring road.the meter showed 17 kilometer and fare of 118.
The auto has old meter (14=00)
the driver demanded for the fare 153=00 .
and paid 153=00.

As I have travllelled earlier also the fare used to be
around Rs120 only.
I request you to take action on auto for wrong meter

Rickshaw — excess fare

Hello, today i.e. 29/9/2011, we are travelling from santacruz (E) station to Amar Brass (MahaAuto). Usually @ morning time (between 8 am - 8.30 am) meter runs upto 17-18, but today rikshwa's meter runs 27 and driver charge us Rs. 32. When we ask him abt this fast meter, rikshwa driver starting giving us abusing word. This is height of crafiness & open looting.

rickshaw/ Auto — tampered rickshaw/ auto meter

Hello,

I travel every day from Goregaon east to Santacruz East (Kalina). I used to pay anything between Rs.120 - 150 one way, irrespective of traffic. After the strike when few autos had the corrected their meters and I paid 80 - 90.

However, there are a few rickshaw meters are still not corrected. Besides these auto drivers have the audacity to ask to customers to get off and find another auto. The auto numbers are given below and request the concerned authorities to please take action them;

Hi,

This is regarding a recent incident which happended to be.The autorickshaw driver misbehaved and utterred bad words in his native language and also asked for more fare. I was forced to share an auto with a lady who was in the same route as mine with slight deviation.I told her thatthe fare will be shared and she hande over tome Rs 20 once she arrived at her stop.After I that Igot down at my place and handed over Rs 20 +20= rs 40 to the autorickshaw driver.He asked me for Rs 10 more saying that that the lady gave me rs 30 and he wanted Rs 30.I told him in Hindi many times that she gave me rs 20 only and inisted on going back to the lady and chceking with her.But this the driver was not at all ready eventhough I mentioned she is very close.Then came an array of bad words and shouting in native language.

Today morning i came from Delmia Circle to Bilekahalli, Bannergatta Road by auto. The meter showed minimum charges i.e. Rs.17/- & i gave him Rs.20/- as the auto minimum fare is changed from 17/- to 20/-. But he asked me to pay Rs.22/-, when i asked him the reason & he said the minimum charge is not 20/- but 22/-. I said daily i come by auto & pay only Rs.20/- & refused to give 2/- he used abusive language in front of everyone. He called me Bikari ..., Bewa..., Mun... etc., etc., It is not the question of Rs.2/-, but i was ashamed of in front of so many people.

Please take some action against him. Please. This is a request.

Every day i travel from begumpet to Secunderabad by Auto. The actual distance is 8.5-9. Kms. As everyday today also i got into an auto and before i reach the secunderabad railway station the distance is showing as 12 Kms and the auto fare is 25/- more than the acutal fare.

Daily it will be 55 or 56/- from begumpet to my house.But today upto Sec Rly Station only it is 80/-.

I was trying to give a police complaint against that auto;But didn't find any number as such. If any one knows please let me know.

The Auto Reg No:AP13X 6727. Please be aware of this auto as this is completely wrong meter.

This is for information only.I too have faced same problem and tried googling on net to find out some place and no to complain.

I read from internet regarding an old interview of Deputy Controller, legal metrology department, Mr. Ram Kumar (7 December 2004 and I don't know whether he is heading that now or not) regarding increased instances of tampered meters. He had mentioned a tel no[protected] in which one can complain regarding tampered meter between 8 am to 8 pm. I called that no and was redirected to another no[protected] to make complain.

I called the the no then[protected]. The person was cooperative and lodged complain on the auto-rickshaw no. And gave me tips which I am writing for everyone's knowledge.

Tip-1: If you face situation like this, call to[protected] at the auto driver presence.
Tip-2: Find out any traffic police nearby and just orally lodge the complain. The traffic police will siege the documents and will send the driver to Metrology department to verify the meter.

Hope this will workout.

I travel from Collector office to Bandra station almost everyday. The auto fare will come to Rs. 13. last monday i was go to same route my destination it was Rs.27. I would like to raise a complaint - The auto no. is MH 02 UA 9180.
Please do the needful.

It will be good if digital meters are made compulsory for all autorickhaws.

Those people which are living in Pune & Mumbai are lucky.
because they pay money as per electronics meter fare.
But I am living in Ahmed Nagar. Till Date Not a single Auto is running as per the fare meter as per RTO norms.
From the date when RTO department establish in Ahmednagar . No one has taken action & follow the Rule.
All RTO has to give punishment for not doing their job properly & not given proper service to the public. Because they are our servant. & we have to give them punishment. Any one take action against this. Controller, Transport Office. Is their any T.N. Sheshan in RTO office. or all are Nandi Bail.

I & my two friends was on my way from Malad Mindspace to Malad Station & entered in the auto without asking that autowala & told him to take me to Malad station he was denying fare so i called up 100 & informed them, than they told that riskshwala to take me to station that time he said yes & later on he just started driving very driving & taken me to the wrong way also when i tried to stop him he was abusing me & was saying that he will kill me & he took me to the malad Khadi & said that i will throw you from here. When i tried to pull his coller & asked him to stop the rick that time he stopped & got down & said you wait & watch what i am going to do with you people & was calling someone from his cell & more than that it was very dark over there & no one was passing we immediate again called on 100 for help but surprisingly they told that we are just taking phone complaint incase of anything else please visit Malad police station.
Please let me know if any action is taken against the same. because this is not the end of the story today i was there tomo any one else would be there & he could have done anything with us. Auto Number : MH 02 7902 Pls do not read & leave it pls do something.
