[Resolved]  Bajaj Highland Holiday Homes — CHEATING

Address:Maharashtra

Bajaj Highland Holiday home has different strategies to cheat people. One strategy is to call your telephone number and conduct a quiz. The questions would be very simple. Even if you say the wrong answers they would say that you have won the quiz and are eligible for a prize. They ask you to come and collect free gift and vouchers with your family. The insist on your coming there with family only. Once you are there they try to brainwash you into becoming a member of their resorts. They start with offers of Rs 50000 and if you bargain they come down to 10000. If you say that you dont have money with you now, they send an agent along with you to some how get cheque or cash. Only after giving them money we had realised that these fellows are cheaters as our friends told us about them. Even then we visited their so called resorts in Kodaikanal and Mahabalipuram and found out that they are of very poor quality. BEWARE OF THESE CHEATERS. THEY ARE NOT AT ALL RELATED TO THE BAJAJ GROUP!!

Hi,

We are also BIGGEST victims of this fraud that has duped me for 25K inApril' 2010. We have also gone through same process like asking three questions then declaring as winner and asked us to visit their office along with my wife and explained about their packages for 1 hour by some trained MBA students. Then we took the membership for 5 years and they have asked us to pay through credit cards then convert the same amount into EMIs we will refund the interest charged by the bank .

We did the same and produced the Credit card statements after converting the so called amount to EMIs to this fraud company. Then the really story get begun. They started arguing that they would refund only 7% of the total amount. I had to fight, abuse and threaten for amost a month month and
finally after that I received the Cheque.

The Sales rep also informed me that in case I want to go out on a holiday and if I call in for a booking 15 days before my journey date I shall get a confirmed booking, which is not at all true. I had to travel to Lonavala and Mahabaleshwar on 28th may and 1st june respectively, I called them and asked to do the bookings for the same. The reply i received was all the bookings are full.

The sales rep told me that over and above the membership charges I had to pay some utitity charges to which I asked her "What if I do not use the utilities? Will I still have to pay the charges?" she said no... Later When I tried booking the resort I was informed that thos were manditory charges. So I asked what are the Utility charges... she informed me that for Domestic its Rs 500 per day for 4 persons in thier own resorts and Rs. 650 in affiliated resorts... again this proved to be false information as the lonavala resort which is their own... I was informed that I had to pay Rs 1000 as utilty charges per day and in Mahabaleshwar I had o pay Rs 3000 per day.Hence I did not utlise their services.

This is the first company I have seen where the Head office does not have any information about their branch offices but the branch offices have all the information about all the other branch offices... And is the also great to hear that Highland Holiday Homes was barred from doing any business by Sebi for 5 years beacuase of a fraud.

Heres the link to that :-- http://www.sebi.gov.in/satorders/Highland.html

I am trying to cancel the membership but as per their dirty terms & conditions it’s not been cancelled. Guys why dont we come together and file a case againt Highland Holidays in the Consumer court.

Jayesh Rathod

Hi I too am victim for this. Please contact me on [protected]@india.com. I would like to join the group
I am also a victim since 2000. I paid Rs 50000/- for an all season membership but I never get a booking during the holdays. It is always full. I have availed their facility only twice and once when they gave me a booking at Mahableshwar, it was one hell of a dirty place. Can't remember the name. After giving me a letter stating that there are no Utility/Maintenance charges applicable, I was charged for the same. I am disgusted and dissappointed and would like to have my money back.
All promises were made at the time of booking but none were fulfilled. I too would like to join the group.
I can be contacted at [protected]@rediffmail.com

Hi,

I am also a victim of this fraud. I lost Rs. 50000. I took this membership on May 2010. Visited their Lonavala resort, where the hotel condition and service is pathetically bad. Next a month prior i asked for booking in Auli in uttaranchal, but they couldn't provide me hotel booking as it was full... but later when i personally contacted the hotel... the hotel booking was available. These HHH are big time cheaters.

I would desperately like to join in the crusade to bring these cheaters down... Please let me know if collectively we can fight it out in the consumer court. I can be reachable at subrath.[protected]@gmail.com (+91 [protected])
Hi Everyone in this forum,

My name is Anil Balan. I too have been cheated by these fraudsters, Highland Holiday Homes. Me and my wife were called by their representatives in January, 2010 and given a very slick presentation. After falling for their false promises like afflilation with 3 star hotels, etc, we finally paid Rs.25, 000 for 5 years. Then, in November, 2010, when I called them up for reservations, I was told that they no longer have the affiliation with the hotel in Mahabaleshwar, I had requested for and their own property in Lonavala was under renovation. As I was not interested in the alternatives suggested by them, as they were not 3 star hotels, I told them I wanted to rent back the holidays for that year ( They had promised me that in case I did not want to avail the holidays, I could rent the holidays back to them @ Rs.1, 500 per day). To my surprise, they told me they do not have any such provision and these guys are so clever that they conveniently did not mention this point in the terms and conditions handed over to me.

I have now approached the consumer court in Mumbai and my case has been admitted for hearing. The date has been set for 3rd December, 2011. Now, as mentioned above, as the rent back facility was not mentioned in the terms, the only way I can prove this is if I can get affidavits from other people, who have beem given this false promise. I have already got an affidavit from one of my office colleagues, who had been cheated in a similar way. My appeal to all of you is that, if any one of you could come forward and send me an affidavit along with the relevant photocopies of your membership, then I will have a stronger case.

If I succeed, then this will also help you all, in case you want to teach a lesson to these cheaters. I will keep every one here updates with the progress of my hearings and I will share, all that I can with anyone wanting to ge back their hard earned money forom these frauds.

In case any one wants to contact me my e mail id is [protected]@rediffmail.com.

Subject: Cancellation of membership (D-H24-038) of Highland Holiday Homes Pvt. Ltd and refund of fee with interest

Dear Sir,
I am one of the victims of fraud by above Holiday Home that has duped me for Rs 79950/- in August' 2005. They have called on my mobile phone and informed that my mobile phone has won the prize worth Rs. 15000/- and I need to collect it from Crown Plaza Faridabad. After that they kept on enquiring till I reached with my wife to the desired venue. They provided false information and washed our brain to take the membership by paying Rs 79950/ through credit card. I could not go through their detailed terms & conditions due to paucity of time. While making the member, they have made several false promises like:
1. All the facilities will be 4-5 star category & member has to provide only nominal utility charges @ Rs 350/ room per night at that time
2. Free pickup & drop from Airport
3. 25% discount on food & beverages
4. Room will have kitchen and cook will be provided
5. Tours by Bus will be free & car/taxi will be provided @ 30% discount
On availing their facilities, I observed that they have made the false promises and cheated me while making the member. Their facilities are not up to the mark as they have promised. They have own facility only at 4 places and affiliated facilities at about 40 locations. Now they provide only room at their own facilities @ Rs 750/room/night. They do not provide any pickup/drop, discounted sightseeing, discount on food & beverages etc. They do not have any kitchen facility at any of the facility. Moreover, they are charging 70-100% of peak tariff of affiliated facilities in the name o[censored]tility charges which they have not explained at all while making the member. Hence, there is no benefit at all to avail their affiliated facility by paying 70-100% of the room tariff as utility charges. I have seen on internet also that they have duped several customers by making false promises. They are totally running a scam and cheating the people continuously. Recently I also found that their Delhi office is closed and they are operating only from Mumbai office and the same has never been informed by them voluntarily. I have sent several complaints to their Delhi, Chennai & Mumbai office but no satisfactory reply received. Their main office at Chennai does not respond at all and the phone call is terminated immediately after picking up without allowing any conversation.
In view of the above, it is kindly requested that my membership may please be cancelled which is made on false promises and the membership fee of Rs 79950/- may please be refunded with interest. In this regard, I have sent them several communications but no satisfactory reply has been obtained. Also, they do not provide any information about their owner or Board members/ Chairman to whom the complaint can be made.
Yours faithfully,

( Sarvesh Kumar )
