Hi,

I have applied for a credit card 1/05/08, and haven't received any kind of communication from the bank on approval / disapproval of the same. My & My friend Application no. AA 3474904 & AA 3474903. The bank reps confirm to deliver cards or respond on status within 12 business days, I have contacted the bank several times, but apparently none have clue about it apart from a vage answer that, " They will get back to us within 2 business days". All i have to say is please atleast confirm the cancellation of the process so that, we have a peace of mind.

Barclays Credit Card — Pathetic service, unscruplous means of making customers pay

The service of Barclays Card is one of the most pathetic, troublesome and agonizing experience for the end user. I guess they go by the principle “if you have used me once I will not let you go at all, till I suck all your money”.
I made a purchase of 3500/- once on my card and converted it EMI for Rs 500/- a month with interest for 12 months. Since I was not using the credit card extensively I decided to cancel the card after 6 months. I got the card blocked, paid all the outstanding ( Rs3500/- Rs. 500 charge for preclosure ).

Following that when I placed a call to cancel the card, I was being told the system is under upgrade and was asked to call the next day… this continued for whole 1 month. And one fine morning came the bolt from the sky, when I placed the call to customer care – I had an outstanding of Rs. 1700 still left.

I almost got into conflict but Barclays folks did not relent.

FYI, I paid Rs. 1700 twice as i was getting messages that my details will be uploaded on CBIL that will not enable me to put a loan request with any bank.

I took me 1 year to get the card cancelled!

Now I can see the same thing happening with one of my friend except the fact that his outstanding amount as claimed is Rs. 17000/- for no purchases made yet.
I guess Barclays is trying to reduce the loss they suffered by extracting money by this unscrupulous means.
sir iam muthukumar using barclay card i have many problems 1 payment, 2 statement, 3 i have speak to tamil languge .

i am ravi verma from NEW DELHI, I was holding a Barclays Credit card till NOV 09. for which i have cleared all the amount which i have utilised from it. the last payment which i have is on 4th DEC 09 Which is not cleared till date. & from last 1 months I am getting the 5-10 missed calls from the collection Dept about payment & messages also.when i received a call from payment dept they informed me that if i pay minimun amount of Rs.600/- they will issue me a final settelment bill so, BUT at next few minutes i received a call they used to tell me that is extra charges,they are doing only fraud again i have received a call then also they told me to make a payment of Minimum Amount of Rs-600/- they will going to issue me a final settelment bill. they are sending me a messages to make a payment or contact on[protected], but this no is invalid or they don't have incoming calls faciliity. ,they had un necessarily added my name in some priority circle with out my consent & they had charged me of Rs- 6410/- which i had not paid & it takes me about 6 months to come out of that scheme. every time they send me a message that if i not pay the amount they will report to CIBIL. I am also holding other bank credit card but i dont have any problem with them.
The collection team has literally abused me and if i donot pick up the call they call my landline and abuse my family and threat them of dire consequenses.Because of these abusive calls , they abused my parents several times when my cell # was not available

now thet have started given threat to me n my family also,These collection agents speak as if they are road Hooligans and shout and scream to get the money out. me and my family are tortured by these agents on a regular basis.The bank has given me Mental and Physical Harrasment and has crushed the norms stated by RBI by indulging in Immoral Practises and forcing the customer and his family to pay.the phone no and names are given below from which i used to receive threating calls and abuse:

I Kindly request you to do the needful and get me out of these fraudlental charges as the bank has really given me and my family a tough time with the collection calls. This information is said to be private and confidential and how on this earth they have given this private and confidential information to my family members.

Issue regarding Barclays credit card no.[protected]

Respected Sir,

In month of November I received a call from Barclays regarding conversion of outstanding dues in EMI.
The Executive advised me to convert my dues in EMI's, So that my EMI would be Rs396/- per month for next 36 months.


For this transaction I was instructed to sign an ECS format along with cancellation cheque, Accordingly an Executive was sent to my office for obtaining required documents to complete formalities of conversation of outstanding dues.

As instructed payment of Rs396/- was made by me before due date.(9/12/2009).

On 23/12/2009 I received a call from Barclays recovery dept.(out source) informing me that Rs 680 are outstanding and instructed me to make payment ASAP.


And Again I had telephone call from Barclays recovery dept. to pay outstanding amount immediately orelse you will be disturb till payment is made. (Sana Shaikh)

After this I had word with Barcalys Customer care they told facility of conversation is not provided to me and your Ecs and cheque is not in our possession.

I Lodged complaint against this issues with bank CAS 2929844/CAS 292930.


In this situation I feel helpless & cheated by such a reputed bank. I therefore request you to kindly look in to above matter and settle issue ASAP.

Barclays Credit Card — Amount Charged Without Any Purchase Made

I was charged For a movie ticket Purchased thru my credit card which i actually never did. on talking to the bank people they said they will verify the matter with the merchent (movie hall) and then only they will call us back. but by the time the procedure is on you need to make the payment. why is that so ?
I totally agree with above comment inspite of repeated compalints we still get missed calls on our landline no. for the person who is not working any monre with the company.

I request to please to stop such stupid credit cards which torture innocent people who no where involved with matter.

I can say this is stupid ever service i have seen. Stop torturing with your stupid missed calls else we have give complaint to the police.
Hello Sir,

few months ago i have logged a complaint regarding Barclay cards priority circle( Fraud circle). im very sure it is just the name they use to cheat people in india. i can see a lot of people are trapped too. i dont really know whom to blame.. is it the indian people who work for them..or is it really barclays cards framing all these cheat tactics and giving its workers to follow.
is really any actions taken against them.

i have a Credit card account in your bank and my card number is [protected]. Last week i closed all emi's and i pay rs.14004.00 . But in my account only rs.13460 only credited. i really don't know what is happened? i spoke to your phone banking officer and he told that there is Over limit amt deduction happened in your acc. which is not acceptable.Kindly credit the balance amt or Kindly take a Card cancelation request.

and Also i block my old card and and i raise a new card request before 25 days. Kindly confirm whether i got new card with my issue solved or you take the cancellation request.

This is with request and to know much more about my credit information. I would bring into notice that I was been using Barclays credit card a year before but with undue service I left using that card.

There was an undue payment to be made as per my credit card statement, keeping that in mind all payment was made with cheque and had been dropped at bank drop box. There started the cause of problem, the collection department carried that in late day and with undue reason late charge of Rs.150/- the bank started claiming me monthly late charges. On a year-end they had total fee charge of RsRs.2500/- towards which he meant to finalize or settle the account for Rs.1000/-. On a charge of Rs.150, I was been charged to pay 1k. That never meant to be sensible as per bank.

I had already complained and no response has still me made. I request the bank to kindly check and take favorable response without charging a discreet way to harass customers.

Barclays Credit Card — Reversal of LPC

Sub:- Cancellation of card No. [protected]- Regarding.

The aforesaid card has been issued to the undersigned in the month of November’2009 with a credit limit of Rs. 44000/-.

On 15.12.09 and 20.12.09 undersigned 1st time used the card and have made the transactions of Rs. 790/- and 310/- respectively. After completion of billing cycle no instruction/bill for payment of aforesaid transactions has been sent by your bank to the undersigned till April’2010. In this regard undersigned telephonically contacted to your customer care executive, where it has been gathered that an amount of Rs. 1515.63/- has been reflected in the statement of April’2010 as LPC. In this regard undersigned, vide reference No. 33002454 lodged a complaint regarding reversal of LPC and non receipt of statements. In reference to this complaint the customer care executive assured that a copy of duplicate statement in which the LPC has been waived off, will be reach to my home address with 04 to 05 days and advised to submit the left amount of Rs. 1100/- towards purchase.

In reference of above, undersigned made a payment of Rs. 1100/- which has been credited in your a/c on 12.04.10.

Despite of aforesaid assurance of your customer care executive neither any call nor any statement has been reached to the undersigned till 21.04.2010. In this regard on 22.04.10 undersigned again over telephone contacted to your customer care executive, who was again suggest to not to pay any amount and again lodged a complaint regarding reversal of LPC as well as non receipt of statement, and assured that after lodging the complaint the statement will reached to the address o[censored]ndersigned and their respective will contacted to undersigned within 04 to 05 working days. On the suggestion of executive undersigned again lodged complaints bearing No. 3515587 and 3515597, but like my previous bad experiences neither any call nor any statement reached to the undersigned till 28.04.10.

On 29.04.10 undersigned received a copy of duplicate statement from the month of October’2009 to April’2010. On the scrutiny of the statement it is gathered that despite of aforesaid complaints and LPC charges has not been reversed by the bank.

In reference of above, on 11.05.10 undersigned one more time called to your customer care executive and on his suggestion again made a complaint bearing No. 3609503 but all in vein. Despite of assurance of your executive neither any call (regarding reversal of LPC) nor any statement has been reached to the undersigned till date.

Sir, this type of activity creates bed impression and spreads negativity between Bank and customers, which could be harmful to your bank images.

At this stage two course of action is proposed:-

1. You are requested to look into the matter personally and reverse all the LPC and make me free from this mental harassment as well to use your card regularly.

Or

2. Kindly deactivate the services of aforesaid card with immediate effect keeping in view of poor and non-cooperation of your customer care executive service, under intimation to the undersigned. After receipt of the same I shall destroy the card at my own end.

Barclays Credit Card — Charged without any purchases

I own a Barclays credit card since 06/2009. I never used this card and now I have received a bill of Rs 551.00. The statement mentions that it is the non-usage charge.

I do not remember signing any document from barclays accepting the condition of non-usage charges. I have emailed my complaint to Barclays grievance cell.

What are the options do I have so that I do not have to pay for these charges ?

dear sir, i have yr barclays credit card i used yr card only 2 times amount is 1231 so i cant recieved yr statement or sms so i complaint yr call centre after they send me duplicate bill after i pay my amount of rs 1231 after yr side call me u pay 5600 bcoz u r intesr and penalty ...so how can i pay this amont.. evry 1/2 hour call me at my res or my mobile no so plse solwed my this problem my card is already blocked from yr side so i am very worry about for this problem i am not miss used yr card u see my all record after u deside what i do, , so plse help me my cell no is [protected] yr side i have no response every time call centre says u wright ur complaint by email so i wright email so no reply from ur side so plse help me what can i do sir thank u

I am very sorry to inform that the customer service team that has been selected is really below expectation infact it can be said very poor

I had problems with the customer service team before 7-8 months , due to which I had to face problems in my cibil reports as well..hence at this point I had decided to clearoff the bill. Hence I had given a call on the 18 nov 2010 n asked for the bal..was given the amount of Rs 4750.99 and was wrongly informed to wait till the 9 dec 2010 ie my due date so that the amount would be removed throught ECS. But to day being the 11 dec 2010 the amout was not removed hence called up the customer service…spoke with the floor supervisor Chandrakant. He informed me the amount that I have to pay is Rs5320.39. when conferming he said that will have to pay this amount and might have recived a wrong information previously and refuced to put any further investigation and said can only be done once some extra charges were acessed into the account.
Previously because of barclays credit card and due to the wrong information taken my cibil was effected and had to face problems when applied for home loan.kindly resolve this matter as the people who want to pay off the bill are also not able to do so because of poor service and lack of professionalism..barclays being such a big bank world wide has such a poor customer service is really difficult to understand
