[Resolved]  BIG TV — Complaint against BIG TV

I bought Big TV near the Perambur loco station, Chennai on 01-Sept-2008. It was from a marketing gimmick that I felt for. I paid on the spot in hot cash and I was told by one Mr. Shakthi (Sales Person) ([protected]) that the service will be installed and activated within 4 hours. I was been told to get a workorder number by giving the smart card number to the customer Service(!!!). I was told that in 48 hours my channels will show up in my Tv after I have recharged. I recharged immediately and confirmed with the customer Service(!!!) that my recharge was successful. I called the customer Service(!!!) on their toll free number after 72 hours that I haven't got anything exept the blue screen with the channel list and when clicked on any channel it throws a message to subscribe.

I called the person who installed this TV name unknown ([protected]) and he gave me 4 other numbers to call and check. ([protected], [protected], [protected] and[protected].

Later I called Shakthi (Sales Person) ([protected]) and got the office number[protected] and I talked to them and he said it will be solved in 3 hours. Later I got a call from[protected] and was told that its not their problem and was asked to contact customer care.

I again called up customer care and they gave me a list of complaint numbers every time I called them that I lost track of all the numbers[protected], 75496209, 75945671...)> Evry time there will be this sterio type reply of "Will be resolved in 48 hours and again a new complaint number. Lastly I was told that my smart card was deactivated for UNKNOWN reasons. After a good negotiation of more then 45 minutes, I got the IRRESPONSIBE manager name (Mr. Javed) not sure if that's a real one or a phoney????.

This is the successful 16th day without any success. I am really cursing myself to choose this reliance Big TV as it had been the most horrendous experience one could ever get.

I filed a complaint to [protected]@bigtv.co.in, [protected]@core.nic.in, [protected]@del2.vsnl.net.in,
[protected]@trai.gov.in.

I am really fed up to the core that I contacted core. If you could help in any ways of getting me this cursed vodoo box installed or to get back my swindled money along with a compensation for all the pain thta I have to go through. sir due to the past one week the big tv was not shown any channel in my tv . many times iwas asked the coustomer care but no response what can i do .

BIG TV — Too Many Problems and Issues

We got a Big TV connection 6 months ago- now for the last 11 days we have been trying to get our subscription changed from Premuim PAck for our 2 TV's to Max PAck- where not only will we get more channels but also save about 200 rupees as for the second TV the Price will be half.

I have called 16 times, the numbers are impossible to get through the day, so I call at night after 12.00 pm, they have raised three complaints and on 2 occassions have closed the complaint without resolving the problem, if I ask for a manager I am told that he will say exactly what the agent is saying, what kind of management does this company have?

After holding for 20 plus mins we have been told that the system is under updation, their system is always under updation, whether it is night or day and a simple request to change the subscription pack has left us extremely frustrated and depressed.

I am seriously considering throwing BIG TV out as I have no other option left.

Quite frankly the attitude we have seen from BIG TV is quite synonomous with the ANIL AMBANI group of companies ( our experience with Reliance mobile a few years ago was quite similar so the inly solution was to throw it out) where for payments it is always a one way street and customer service is a necesary devil, a customer with an issue is always a pain.

Bigtv customer cell is most worest customer care ever dealt.
I am having its connection customer ID[protected].
Every day they are sending a message to pay on add on pack
their money is keep on increasing every day.
where as I am not using it.
their toll free and other number are always busy>
it is just a mental harrasement> because they have one way communication>
I brought a BIG TV ...all service are good ..but, here not avilable any recharge card...when i going delar they say that is out of hand.In this time pepole not buy any BIG TV (delar say) ...So, I asked when I get big tv recharge card????15 day i not enjoy any programme & ICC t20 world cup...If I not get cash card I will throw set of box in mursh (in 10 days)...
Many time i cont.BIG TV castamer care...BUT they could solve my problem...

I have a TataSky connection for 2 years, but never had such bad experience at once till now

My exp;
A man named Shanxxxxx carrying identity of BigTv appeared in my office a week ago.
He convenienced me for a connection promising following;

1. The wire from terrace to my tv won't be charged even if the dish is far on the 3rd floor.(or any distance)
2. All the channels would be broadcasted free for first three months free of charge.
3. From 4th month, at my discretion I will be allowed to subscribe or not for any out of their packages.
4. Till i subscribe again, only free regional ( my case Gujarati) programme would be availabe to see free.
5. I have option to have a lapse of my desire, i.e. six or ten months to choose to sunbscribe again.
6. The activation will remain in existance till it is re-subscribed.
7. I will have to apply with a cheque and have to pay Rs.300/- by cash to installation staff.

Later I was given following by installation staff;
My card no.20071022XXXX
complaints no.[protected] and no. [protected] for re-charge.

After he took my application, on about 4th day, the installation staff approached me on phone and advised me to keep my photo and id evidence together with Rs.300/- plus additional cable charges for distant dish. I had to object for cable charge because it was promised that the distance do not matter. After several arguments, the dish and the set top box was installed next day. Initially they insisted that I will have to pay extra for extra length of wire. They also said that to gain orders, sales staff give all false promises and put them in trouble. Later the signals were satisfactory and I had no complaints till I came to know that the sales staff had given me false information ( as mentioned above). The phone numbers given to me are always busy and never get through since then. After listless attempts once it got connected and I conveyed my grief and anger for the false information and I requested for immediate suspension of connection as well as refund of my money because of all false information. The staff at complaints was polite and repeatedly regretted for the inconvenience caused to me but I decided not to continue with the company who has such bad system. Ultimately I told him to suspend this connection and arrange to refund my money.
I believe he has done the suspension but did not clarified when I will get back the amounts paid.
To avoid any problem of calculation, I took the decision on the same day of installation. Hence I expect them to arrange a FULL refund.
Now to clarify about the refund, I have been trying to call their given numbers but none is getting through.
This is reported here so that such cheatings can be avoided for more people.
This is a cry from a frustrated customer who is using BIG TV (even recommended for all my friends).

Story in Short:
I've bought the BIGGGGGGGGGGGGG TV on December 2008 (felt for the marketting lies)... one month back i lost the signal from BIG TV and no one still resolved my problem

First week :
I was not getting my signals (Error Code 2) since 23rd April and I have made a compliant to BIG TV customer service on 24th June 2009 – The customer service recoded the compliant ( ID[protected] and promised that the issue will be resolved within 48hrs.

Somebody called me and updated that they will be coming to my place on Sunday 28th June. But, no one came on that day (I’ve wasted the whole day by waiting for the service guy).

Second week :
I’ve called again on the next week end (July 04th) and somebody promised the same that “ we’ll resolve the issue within 48hrs”……………. No one came………………


Third week:
Again I called the Customer service department on 11th July (I guess) AND they took a new compliant (ID[protected] and promised the same………………………&hel... Unfortunately no one came to resolve the problem.

But, suddenly on 16th evening someone called me from BIG TV and asked me the status of the issue. I’ve told him the same that no one still not landed in my house (may be my house in not in this earth for these service personals).


Fourth week:
I’ve called the BIG TV customer service on 18th and 19th of July and begged them to resolve my issue………………………&he... Unfortunately NO one even bothered to resolve my problem.

I m a big Tv customer My Name is Nilambar Sahoo & my id is[protected], I gave a complain agents costumer care on dated 23 march 2009 & My complain is with out I order some one sinner call executive like his name is THAKUR or some thing active Stater pack-3 & some one BIG TV staff also de-active that pack so one month my account is going to reduce balance Stater pack-3 with out I get that service, so many time I complain with this topic with the call center executive but I can’t return my deduction money or not get the service. And BIG TV customer service gave numsence service and his customer care staff gave suggestion like monkey and doge. BIG TV can’t give like TATA SKY service, so I request all customer who purchase to interest BIG TV please don't purchase this because so many problem in set-up box also after 6 to 7 month. Reliance Big TV — I bought big tv in August, but no channels available and it says balance is ZERO

I have no idea what is going on. I bought Big Tv this month and they said i will get 3 months free channels, but i did not get any channel free except for Doordarshan, I don't know who cheated or what happend. I bought it from a shop nearby and the Big tv guy came over and gave us the dish and all, he said that he put another card don't know why. NOW WHERE IS MY 3 MONTH FREE SUBSCRIPTION? i spent so much money on this ! i regret buying it. AND I WILL TELL EVERYONE NEVER EVER TO BUY RELIANCE PRODUCTS. i have recharged for the add on packs and still i havent got them but the money is getting deducted every day and no matter how many times i call the customer cupport the issue will be solved in 24 hrs is the reply.
pls people dont buy this television its fraud and cheating.
Don’t expect any thing from Big Tv. There is a great mistake is done by me by subscribing the Big Tv DTH. After a long period, Big Tv has not added any new Oriya Tv channel in its network. Big tv is still maintaining silence on the addition of Oriya tv channels like; Tarang Tv, Super Star Josh tv which is not only demand by the Oriya viewers but also these are number one exclusive entertainment channel of Orissa. The mega serial ‘‘Lord Jagannath” of Tarang Tv Channel is now huge demand by the Oriya viewers in world wide and similarly Super Star Josh tv has some fine programmes which also demanded by the viewers. After all the result is; Big Tv is not giving same importance to the Oriya viewers.

Sir,
With respect I beg to draw the following. I am Dharampal kadian a resident of village and post siwana distt Jhajjar (Haryana).

On 04/9/2009 I purchased Dish TV set box OF Big TV Reliance from Parkash electronics Near Shiv Chock Agent No.10043579. I asked for the bill but no bill was provided and charged Rs1790/- and I was told that one mechanic will come to install the same in the evening.

One next day one Mechanic Om bir named come to my house he installed the STB and asked for Rs300/- to start the same. But since the last two days I am making telephones to Big TV customer care centre and to the agent and the mechanics but so for it have not been started. I have spend more then Rs100/- telephone and other visits to the shop I asked the shopkeeper to return the set But he is not taking it back neither he Taking the set back Nor he is starting the same in this communication the Number of smart Card is[protected] and the Number of Form which I filled for Identify is [protected]. With I D Proof.

The cost taken is also excess and the Harassment since the last two days. The operator Om Bir. Who Came to me ([protected]) Mobile No. Even after making many calls to both. Operator and the customer case of Big TV.

An early action is requested please.

Like u all guys, same is my case. I had a worst ever experience with RELIANCE BIG TV. I think they should rename it to RELIANCE BIG FRAUD TV. Some 3 days back I wanted to subscribe for Kids Plus pack and you will shock to know that they subscribe Ten Sports to my a/c. Now when I asked their customer care they have no answer to this mistake. And now I have to watch this Ten Sports for next 4 months i.e 120 days. They are telling me that system gets lock for 120 days and they cant do any thing and I will have to pay Rs.25/- per month for this for next 4 months. This people are BIG FRAUD and I must say you all must get away from this BIG FRAUD TV.
