[Resolved]  BIG TV — Complaint against BIG TV

I bought Big TV near the Perambur loco station, Chennai on 01-Sept-2008. It was from a marketing gimmick that I felt for. I paid on the spot in hot cash and I was told by one Mr. Shakthi (Sales Person) ([protected]) that the service will be installed and activated within 4 hours. I was been told to get a workorder number by giving the smart card number to the customer Service(!!!). I was told that in 48 hours my channels will show up in my Tv after I have recharged. I recharged immediately and confirmed with the customer Service(!!!) that my recharge was successful. I called the customer Service(!!!) on their toll free number after 72 hours that I haven't got anything exept the blue screen with the channel list and when clicked on any channel it throws a message to subscribe.

I called the person who installed this TV name unknown ([protected]) and he gave me 4 other numbers to call and check. ([protected], [protected], [protected] and[protected].

Later I called Shakthi (Sales Person) ([protected]) and got the office number[protected] and I talked to them and he said it will be solved in 3 hours. Later I got a call from[protected] and was told that its not their problem and was asked to contact customer care.

I again called up customer care and they gave me a list of complaint numbers every time I called them that I lost track of all the numbers[protected], 75496209, 75945671...)> Evry time there will be this sterio type reply of "Will be resolved in 48 hours and again a new complaint number. Lastly I was told that my smart card was deactivated for UNKNOWN reasons. After a good negotiation of more then 45 minutes, I got the IRRESPONSIBE manager name (Mr. Javed) not sure if that's a real one or a phoney????.

This is the successful 16th day without any success. I am really cursing myself to choose this reliance Big TV as it had been the most horrendous experience one could ever get.

I filed a complaint to [protected]@bigtv.co.in, [protected]@core.nic.in, [protected]@del2.vsnl.net.in,
[protected]@trai.gov.in.

I am really fed up to the core that I contacted core. If you could help in any ways of getting me this cursed vodoo box installed or to get back my swindled money along with a compensation for all the pain thta I have to go through. My contact information will be best through email as I read emails every day atleast 10 times.

BIG TV — Recharge Worngly

Sir, I am Ravindran working abroad and my parents were now in Trichy, Tamil Nadu. For their pleasure, i have opted for BIG TV on Oct-2008, and which is due on Oct-2009, As my parents were aged while reading the numbers they mispelled wrongly and the amount was recharged wrongly to other person, we found that the transaction was made only after a week, and soon we registered a complaint in BIG TV Customer Care, for which we received an automated mail message saying that you will be replied soon, we too got the reply as

In response to your mail regarding Transfer of account balance, we would like to inform you that we have again forwarded your issue to our concerned management department for the necessary action and the needful will be done shortly.

they sent his mail on nov 21, for our mail dated oct-26th, even afetr sending 2 more mails and keep on calling the customer care they mislead my father to meet the person in the address, where as that person is not the correct person to contact for.

Till now, we have not received any reply from them with reference to the transfer of account balance.

BIG TV — non repairing of top box under varranty

respected ser I have taken big tv connection at my home tv 4 months ago my smart card no is[protected] in my name .The top box of the tv connection is not working since last one month I have made complianed to big tv customer care, of big tv connection four times but no action has been taken so far .what can i do about the same.
i purchased big tv one year back. after one year i want to change my plan to silver pack. i called up customer care and told them to change my plan to silver pack. first they told that i dont have balance to activate to silver pack, the next day i recharged and again called.again they told me that thereis technical problem and they have registered my complain and will be activated within 48 hrs.

but after that i did n't check whether they have changed my plan. when i got the message to recharge, then only i came to know that they didnt change my plan.

again today i called them, they told me the same old story that i dont have balance, call after recharging.

pls tell me what to do with this bigtv
Writing to [protected]@bigtv.co.in and calling [protected]/2 is pointless as the people on this page have suffered enough from RELIANCE BIG TV customer care(less) team. We can all write about the complaints here but it is only an outlet for vomiting our frustration.

Caution to anyone who has not bought RELIANCE BIG TV - if it works then it is fine, but if you have a problem then you can find GOD more easily than getting any solution from RELIANCE BIG TV's hopeless support team. There is nothing called MONEY BACK or CANCELLATION or REFUND or WARRANTY in RELIANCE BIG TV's (NON) SERVICE PLAN. If you don't believe me then "There is no warranty/guarantee period on the equipments given to customers." is what they mailed me. PLEASE ASK FOR AN OFFICE ADDRESS where you can register a complaint or walk in to explain. Their Call Center and Support Desk are the worst I have experienced in all my life and they never give any office address.

Does any one have an address where a registered post (with acknowledgment aka AD) can be sent? Only option is sending legal notice and I want to do it.
i have subscribed to etv bihar & 1 year platinum pack worth rs. 4490 they have said your services will start in next 12 hours but till now we are not able to seen the channels i suggested to everyone dont buy reliance big tv i also will discontinue this service. my smart card no. is[protected] and contact number is [protected]

There is many oriya channels are available at orissa. i.e Taranga TV, Taranga music, Ollywood TV, Kamyab TV, Superstar JOSH TV, Ekamra TV, Moon TV, Kanak TV etc. But DISH TV could not broadcst these channels till today.If we complained for that then customer cares are saying "These channels are not available in our Platform."
But why these channels are not available? There are many south channels are available but why oriya channels are un-available?
I think dishtv doesn't give priority to oriya channels.
I am your dealer. I sale one connection to Mrs. Mamta Palaria on dated 22.1.2010. (smart card No.[protected] and work order No. [protected]& three months free silver pack) Installation time distributor change the request and install multisetup box other name. Present time cutomer's account is Rs. (-) 600/- & distributor do not support to me & to customer. customer do warning to me my problem short out 24 hours otherwise i go to consumer forum. Please short problem rush.
HI 2 future customers who want to buy DTH, pls do not buy Big tv, as the name Big tv, same with the problems are very BIG.
I am not getting recharge card to recharge my account every month.Its been very bad impression on big tv personally.that iam not able to watch IPL matches these days.

probably they will stop service.based on the way it operates.

Customer care and Technical support of Big TV are the ends of the river...which will never meet to satisfy the customer. I have given request on 17th June 2010 (#[protected] to reinstall the Big TV at my new address. And to my surprise, the request was closed on 20th June with the reason my mobile was not reachable and the technician visited my house and no one was there to attend him which were totally LIE statements given by the technician. Again on 21st I gave one more request / complaint (#[protected] to reinitiate the process the reinstallation of Big TV at my new place. No one contacted me till 22nd late eve so I called up cust care (as usual the waiting time need to consider) and I was told that the request is closed with the reason Technician has called me up and given the appointment on 26th June, which was again LIE statement given by Technician. DAILY I HAVE BEEN CHARGED FOR USING BIG TV SINCE 17th JUNE FROM MY BALANCE AMOUNT.

I’m losing football World Cup moments…. I’m now tired of this Big TV...

BIG TV — Overcharging & means to suck customer money

I had purchased this Big TV DTH (Prod.ID:[protected] years ago when these people had affordable rates & good services. But as the time passed by the tariffs & monthly charges were increased considerably. Just today my TV was working pretty well & suddenly it stops & displays an Error saying Single Lost. Well we all know that DTH do have a poor tolerance to the bad weather & rains. But when this error occurred the weather was sunny with no strong winds. When I contacted the customer care they just gave me a procedure which involved a total software blackout of the Set Top Box. On contacting them again they said that to solve this problem I will have to call their engineer & further they would deduct Rs.175 from my account for it. Neither there is a hardware problem, nor anything involving our mistake, yet the company policy stands on sucking customers hard earned money to make it theirs. A Bad Signal Error is definitely the Service providers fault.... So why should a consumer be over charged for it?? Arent their engineers paid to look after these faults?
Moreover it has been recently been evident that the subscription charges are different for new buyers to woo them into buying their product whereas it remains too high for older ones as enough money has already been extracted from them. No wonder Big Tv has the highest monthly tariffs than any other DTH provider!
