[Resolved]  HDFC Bank — Fraud

In the Month of March I had applied for a home loan with HDFC Sector 8, Chandigarh Branch, for 25 Lac Rs. And asked the bank to approve the loan only on the basis of the collateral property (whose papers I had provided with the application) as I was looking for a property in Chandigarh which is not transferable. I paid a processing fee of Rs.11, 000+service tax. Before Applying for the home loan HDFC’s executive Mr. Kapil had assured that he has got the property checked and the bank would take the same as collateral. Before Applying I also had an interview with Ms. Aditi Lakhanpal and she had flipped through the file and also asked me my requirements. I made everything clear during the interview as well. But on receiving the offer letter my collateral property was not considered. It’s a shame that the bank was so negligent that it ignored the collateral property papers and also my application. On repeatedly trying to reach the bank’s executives (Mr. Kapil and Ms. Aditi Lakhanpal) I got a response that I had not requested for the collateral to be considered. But when they checked my application they told be that they had somehow missed valuating the collateral and now they’ve spoken to someone and the property is not approved and cannot be taken as collateral. Before applying for the loan they were all after my life contacting me several times during the day and now they do not choose to even reply to my emails. Ms. Aditi gives me a stupid response that HDFC is not responsible as Mr. Kapil is an employee of HDFC bank and not HDFC, but HDFC did not process my application as requested. I’m not at all interested in dealing with HDFC anymore and I’m chasing them to get my Processing fee back. On requesting the bank to atleast return the processing fee, I get a reply that they would be able to refund only half of the fee. Whereas it’s the bank who’s at fault for not reading my application properly and should bear the cost. I’m really disappointed with the practice that this bank follows. On the time of application they were chasing me like anything but they are paying no attention my complaints. I've mailed them numerous times but even the head of the branch Mr. Rajeev Sardana doesn't care to respond.

Please help me in recovering the processing fees from the bank.

Just go to:

CONSUMER DISPUTES REDRESSAL COMMISSIONS
in your respective states and lodge a complaint against HDFC / ICICI and any such bank doing so.
You may even file a police complaint againts bank for cheating. Just consult a lawyer - it will be resolved.
Law is definitely a painful process but Believe me it is always fruitful and in favor of customer.
Yes, the HDFC is fraud, they tell that they will monitor the construction phases and they dont do. The builder and the HDFC officials and making the syndicate and cheeting the customers and making the money.
Bellow is my experience:
I have taken a home loan in HDFC Bank, Vellachery Branch. The Builder (Balaji Constructions not registered ) and loan facilitator have the tie-up. The loan facilitator explain that they will scrutinized the documents and they have own employees of HDFC bank to monitor the site and they will look into the construction phases. The Builder constructing the apartment as his own fashion, extended the building front, back, left and right side and raising the construction area and taking the money. The builder constructed other apartment and occupied our land. As AKDR Golf court management warned him so he gave 2 feet to there compound wall. Previously he started construction on the compound wall. Without pillars one side he is constructed. I have informed to the bank people, but there is no use, they have not taken any action against this issue. without pillar on the top constructed the water tank.
The builder made the agreement, in that there is no liability on him, every thing all liabilities with the customers he made it. This information is we asked him to change, the bank facilitator Mr Sahul given the guarantee, he will make another agreement and this time please make sign on this to disabuse the amount first time. If I complaint they have not taken any action against him or builder. The technical manager of HDFC is not at all visiting the site and monitoring. Please don’t go for house loan like this HDFC bank, better go for the government banks like SBI. There are no standards at all. The builder, the Technical Manager and loan facilitator altogether cheating the customers and making the money.
I request you people don’t go for such project with small builders and especially HDFC home loans.

What do you do if you have a grievance?

If you have a complaint against only scheduled bank on any of the above grounds, you can lodge a complaint with the bank concerned in writing in a specific complaint register provided at the branches as per the recommendation of the Goiporia Committee or on a sheet of paper. Ask for a receipt of your complaint. The details of the official receiving your complaint may be specifically sought. If the bank fails to respond within 30 days, you can lodge a complaint with the Banking Ombudsman. (Please note that complaints pending in any other judicial forum will not be entertained by the Banking Ombudsman). No fee is levied by the office of the Banking Ombudsman for resolving the customer’s complaint. A unique complaint identification number will be given to you for tracking purpose. (A list of the Banking Ombudsmen along with their contact details is provided on the RBI website).

Complaints are to be addressed to the Banking Ombudsman within whose jurisdiction the branch or office of the bank complained against is located. Complaints can be lodged simply by writing on a plain paper or online at www.bankingombudsman.rbi.org.in or by sending an email to the Banking Ombudsman. Complaint forms are available at all bank branches also.

Complaint can also be lodged by your authorised representative (other than a lawyer) or by a consumer association / forum acting on your behalf.

If you are not happy with the decision of the Banking Ombudsman, you can appeal to the Appellate Authority in the Reserve Bank of India.

My name is Lokesh . I live in Delhi and I had lost my Debit card in 02nd June 2015. But my billing address is in Bhopal and my mum wasnt at home I had made a late order for new debit card n pin in 18th June . They issued me a card on wrong account m my mum did received a card which wasnt working . I pushed my mum to activate card via atm thru one time password. The pin was changed. But she wasnt able to withdraw funds . Coz itwasq wrong card. I called hdfc fone banking on [protected] n spoken to number of people and i tried to explain them my situation. I belong to a middle class family. They said Ki galti Ho gai to ho gai. They gave me d option to visit a branch . I told them that I work 6 days n I cant go to d bank and if I will take a leave HDFC will have to compensate me for daily wage that get from my company. They instead of helping me out they said Ki Jo karna hai kar lo . Aab kuch nai Ho payega. I told them that I have joined a new job I cant take a leave. If I have to I will be marked absent at work and I would loose 1 day salary. My call was transferred to shashak in Mumbai who is d floor manager of card blocking department . I told him that I have changed room m so I am expected to pay my rent at d earliest. He said Ki apko branch Jana hoga .koi aur option hai hai. After a long conversation on phone where in I called up hdfc bank it took 4 hours to sort it out.

I want toadvose Mr Puri to leave his job. He is d most pathetic business ma and erogant .this company is fraud. I am going to file a complaint to rbi and I challenge mr Puri to consumer court.
Mr Puri plz understand that hdfc has been rated as number one bank by customers .u shd treat ur customer with respect. Why for banks mistake a customer has to suffer all d time. Why would I skip my work to go to branch when its nt my fault.

This is the most fraud bank I have done business with . They are sitting in ac office just to fool customers and making tons of money. I would mark this feedback on all bank website so that people must know that hdfc is chor bank. And so is mr Aditya Puri. U people are . I will spread words on daily basis on facebook and om ther forums to revel their secrets .

Mr Puri should leave his job. He is insane and so his staff and his bank
