[Resolved]  HDFC Bank — Harassment by Collection Agency

Hi,
My name is Saurav Kumar.I m holding hdfc gold credit card([protected]) from last 3 months.In May 2012 I had my sister's marriage,due to which i used my whole credit.From last few days I am getting collection calls on my mobile.I can understand if I am not paying bill on times,I will certainly get these types of call.I make them aware about my concern.What they did they started calling my mom and dad number,which I think is wrong.They call them,harass them and used abusive language.I think if card is on my name,then I am only one who is liable to pay the bill,You guys cant go and harass my parents.
My concern is that if I have credit card wid your bank n I have sum emergency then certainly I will use your card.N if its a paying account,how come you guyscan call my parents and harass them.These guys are calling from[protected],[protected] and so on numbers..N if its wid debt collection company then the employee over dere know how to talk to consumer.they should try to understand customer situation.

My credit card No[protected].
i have dues with my account.before two year i went your star bazar office at ahmedabad due to dispute in amount.Collection people behaved very badly.so account became over due.prviously my record was good.since few days your dehli executive following the matter and pressurising for immidiate satelment.I am ready to satale.but not agreed with amount offerd and payment instalment offered.Since last two days he has started to treatened to my wife.I clearly told that i am ready to sataled but not this way.
He is calling from[protected], 45673477, 45546749 his namly vinod(m-[protected]).Today he called twice and treatened my wife that i will send gunda party for collection and may be dengerous for your husband tell him.Is it way of collection?I am not affraid of law, police or my supirior.Have you given this much power to harrast your customer.
This way we can not come to conclusion.I request you to deput proper person who can help to solve the matter.On what ground he is harrasting my wife? I told him to contact me on my cell, i am always available on my cell .But he says i will continue to call your wife.Is it fare?
I am customer and ready to satale the matter.
Please do the needful and oblige.

My Name is Abhilash K Mistry. I m from Ahmedabad. I have ICICI Gold credit card. My total credit limit is Rs. 95000/-. and my Total outstanding is 98000/-. Since last 7 - 8 month i have pay only Minimum amount because intrest is too high and i dont have capacity to pay full amount. I have told ICICI bank customercare to convert my outstanding in to EMI. I will pay it by monthly installment. But bank person said that there is no any policy in our bank. Kindly do the needful and tell me some proper reasonable way to sattle my credit card.

HDFC Bank Credit Card — harrasing phone calls despite of total repayment of what ur company demanded

i dr vivek gupta had a hdfsbank gold card no.[protected].i had a loan settlement deal with ur bank peopleand i gave PDC acc. to schedule on the spot.all the payment was made on time and all my cheques cleared as per schedule exept one, where instead of jan09 year was written as jan 08 by mistake . when i came to kow the matter i made the remaining payment on very first call ...and total payment was completed.BUT phone calls started harrassing me all the time made me tensed, that i have to pay nearly RS. 5000 becos of panelty charges.when i was giving PDC to ur officer was he sleeping or what .how can u make me totallyressponsible for that, and that too i have rectified .but...ur phone callers misbaved, harresed, wasted my time wasted my patients time, used abusive language.distressed with all this and on assurance of one o[censored]r officer Mr.premji, that this is my NOCno., this is my REFUND NO. i payed RS.1930 more over and above acc. to repayment scedule.BUT... AGAIN same type of phone calls started asking for more payment .i think mein saari jindgi mein bhi aapke bank ka karz nahin utar sakta.NOW i have kept all details of credit card a/c, i have all details of repayment, and going for a legal refrance., before this i wanted to put forward this whole matter in front of banks higher officers . kindly look into it and repay my refund with COMPENSATION .

I have a HDFC Credit Card. In some months when I don't receive my salary on time, I am not able to make the Credit Card payment on time. But I always make it the next month. I have also stopped using this card.
Any month when I don't make the payment, the collection agency calls up ad start harassing me. Even if I tell them that I will make the payment next week, they will keep calling every few minutes.
Last week, when I was not at home and my daughter picked up the phone when they called, they started telling her that we know you are lying and that your mother is not making payment, etc. Why should they harass my daughter?
in case of delay. do drop a post dated cheque.

this should solve the problem. iam sure they will understand

In spite of an assurance from HDFC that they will take care of this issue, nothing has been done.

Today the same guy called and started taunting me saying "Why are you working if you don't have any money? If you don't have money, come to me and I will give you some idea as to how to make money.", etc. I am really amazed that this is the way a reputed bank talks to its customers. There seems to be no difference between banks and personal money-lenders.

When I spoke to some friends, they say that this is HDFC's known method. There have been many instances when HDFC collection agencies have called and intimidated parents and other family members in the house.
Reserve Bank of India has laid down rules and regulations for the banks and other financial institutions on the code of conduct of recovery process. If any of the financial institutions or their representatives harass, threaten or intimidate you in any way, we definitely can stop it by taking appropriate legal action on your behalf against such actions. This is inclusive of filing criminal complaints against those who try to harass, threaten or intimidate you as well.

Hi! Advice you to contact the branch heads . Customer Care manager in writing.

You can further approach the Nodal Officers / Appetite Authorities of the Bank for their support and guidance, they have proved to be always helpful in such matters.

If this does not works, contact the nearest police station to file a complaint against harassment with the copy of the letter marked to the Customer Care Manager.

The legal authorities can take care of such a nuisance properly.

My name is Sirisha, my husband is holding HDFC credit card, we were happy with the services and while purchase car we swiped the card for nearly 75000. Immediately we called customer service and informed them to convert it into EMI so that it would be easy for us to pay off and thought will try to close it as soon as possible. We swiped the card in JULY'12 and informed them before bill generation date but they took TWO months of time to convert it into EMI. We received call in SEPT'12 that our outstanding is 105000 . We called customer service regarding additional charges which are laid on us. We came to know that it is the interest amount, we explain them that we already informed in JULY to convert it into EMI but they did not do and came up with interest on our transaction which is not our headache. Somehow we paid nearly Rs 30000. We were unable to make payment from last 3months as my husband moved out of the job seeking new job and due to additional financial commitments. We got a call from collection agency regarding the payment. We informed them that we are in a process of going for settlement, we were informed by agent that our outstanding is 140000 and agent tells us that we have to pay at least 1, 00000 for settlement and demanded us to pay at least 30, 000 so that it will get reduce while settling the amount with bank . I seriously don't understand what these people are trying to do, we swiped for nearly 80000 and now they say that our actual outstanding is 140000. Everyday we are receiving 8-10 call regarding the payment, asking us to pay right away. We don't want to deceive anyone, we are genuine in our intentions and we want to settle it once we receive money which we are expecting in JUNE. Though repeatedly informing them they are calling frequently with threatening statements. These calls are harassing us mentally, i am loosing my mental peace because of these call. Please ADVICE us.
