[Resolved]  HP Service Center At Coimbatore — Very poor after warranty Service of HP Authorised Service Center at Coimbatore

Dear Sir/Madam,

Myself Prabhat Kumar Bhakat, very old customer/consumer of HP Company and its services. I have bought a HP Compaq Laptop 2 years back. The details are given below:

Model No= V4118AP
Serial No= 2CE5360FKP
P/n= EH025PA#UUF

In the warranty period there was a problem with my Hard Disk and Speaker and that I have got corrected at Gurgaon.
Since last 6 months I was facing problem related to sudden auto-power switch off. When I used to work on it , then suddenly my Laptop used to get switch off, without shutting down or without restart. Initially I though the problem might be because of Viruses so I un-installed Windows XP and formatted all the drive.
The problem was very serious when I was trying to Re-Install Windows Xp again, the power was getting off in between the installation, so I did not neither able to install XP not I could work on that. So I decided to go to HP Authorized Service Centre at Coimbatore, Tamilnadu. In HP website I have found that the following service center is authorized for all HP product.

So I went to Maha Electronics Pvt Ltd on[protected] at 2.30 PM and reported my problem. They told that the Laptop was not under warranty so I need to pay Rs. 500/- for checking the Laptop and after that they will tell me what is the problem.

However I agreed and told them about the problem, after that they told me to wait and after 2 hours they told that it was a Mother Board problem and I have to replace the part, which will cost approx Rs. 20,000/-. I asked them about the details that they have checked in my Laptop, they just gave me silly reason. I was sure that they have not even opened my laptop and just giving solution to the problem without finding Root Cause.

After that I repeatedly requested them to open the Laptop and try to find the actual Root Cause and kept my Laptop with them. Then after repetitive follow-up again I went to them on[protected] and asked what was the Root Cause. Their service engineer (Mr. Mutthu) was so stupid that he gave me again some silly reason behind the problem and again told me that I have to replace the Mother Board (not even repair?). he excused me that he has checked all the parts after opening Laptop, and the problem could be only with Mother Board.

I was so upset with them and with their behavior, that I decided to take my Laptop with servicing I paid them Rs. 500/- as their service charge (so call expert’s service charge). Then I asked for a proper report where they have to indicate that the problem is coming due to Mother Board. They were first reluctant to give me such report but finally boldly they have reported that that the Laptop need to replace Motherboard.

I was quite upset and I tried to find the problem in Internet and as well as HP service support websites. I found that frequent power off problem may come due to over-heating, and there is a Heat Sink and Fan inside the Laptop, which dissipate the heat. If get jammed by dust and dirt then the safety device of laptop cuts the power so that it should not get damaged by over-heating.

I opened my laptop and seen that there are lot of dust over the heat sink and it is loosely connected to motherboard then I realized that for these reason laptop was getting over heated. I solved my problem and my laptop is working OK.

But why I am writing these big letter to you because I feel as a customer I can reach to you and tell the problem which general customer like me are being looted by so called HP authorized service centers.
The points, which I was to highlight, are as follows:

1) Does HP authorized service centers like Maha Electronics Pvt Ltd have a expert technical team?
2) Why they do not entertain the customers who are not under warranty?
3) Why these people has taken Rs. 500/- charge from me and had not given any solution?
4) Without thinking what could be the problem, they just told to replace motherboard of Rs. 20,000.00, by which they can at least earn some money. So don’t you think that they are looting general public like us , who has full faith on HP technical team?
So at last I want to tell HP that it should not spoil their brand name giving authorized service center stamp to the company like Maha Electronics Pvt Ltd.

I definitely agree this complaint. The world's best PC or laptop sellers is now cheating their customers. Day by day they are betraying their customers and assure them about their best performance.

Since last 3 months before i have purchased a laptop from Salem, Sun Computor.(dated 31.07.2009purchase date) I was facing problem related to sudden cd drive button locked. when I used to work on it, then suddenly my Laptop used to get switch off, without shutting down or without restart.
So I decided to go to HP Authorized Service Centre at Tirunelvelli, Tamilnadu. In HP website I have found that the following service center is authorized for all HP product

So I went to Maha Electronics Pvt Ltd on[protected] at 5.30 PM and reported my problem. They told that the Laptop was not under warranty so I need to pay Rs. 4000/- for complete replacement of cd trey with micro lock and after that they will tell me this is a phsically damaged. I am surprise, this is not automaticaly open, physically to push then only open. their reply is not satisfaction. Please solve the problem immediately.
I was so upset with them and with their behavior, that I decided to take my Laptop without solve the problem.

i am vaibhav garg. i have a compaq laptop. right now it is in a warranty period. my laptop keypad has problem.i went to the hp service center ghaziabad for this problem.that day they had commited to change my key pad within two days .but after two days when i went to recieve my laptop that day they said that we can not change free you have to pay for it . so if i will pay him then what is the warranty over here ?why they had make fake commitment .this is their duty to provide me any type of service or hadware facilities withiin warranty period .

Student — Bad service on part of the Hp service centre people

I had purchased an Hp laptop(HP NB DV4-1240Tx/1241Tx) on the 8th of may '09 . My laptop's display has some issues where a line flickers at the bottom of the screen. This problem is very common with this model and 3-4 friends of mine have already got the screen replaced at various other Hp service center in Hyderabad and Bangalore.

When I visited the Hp Service Center on the 25th of October at Bhubaneshwar, Bapuji Nagar Branch, they asked to visit them again for according to them they cannot file any new complaints on saturday.

After this when I visited them again they kept me waiting for 4 hrs just because I requested to speak to the manager. That day after much of request they logged in my complaint and today ie on the 16th of November I get a call from Hp center saying that the part for my laptop has arrived and that I should visit them to get it replaced.

When I reach there , the kind of treatment that I got forced me to write this whole story.

Forget about the part being replaced .. these people did not even care to respond properly..
and the kind of response that I get from these people is really disgusting.
They tell me that the engineer has not come when he's actually standing in front of me. On top of that the lady in charge at the reception says that the engineer would come at 5 in the evening when apparently the office closes at 5:30.

They just think that the customer is a fool and they the most smart people of the lot..
This experience really forces me not to suggest anyone to go in for the Hp laptop, for with the kind of treatment that these people give to customer is not only sick but discouranging as well..

If someone sensible is reading this and is associated with Hp then please for heavens sake manage the workforce properly for if this is the way the customers are treated then I'm sure people will stop purchasing Hp laptops
yes... your complaints is true. I am also facing this type of problem in Maha Electronics.
After sales HP service is not suported... HP Is very very worst.
i have bought compaq CQ40 - 425TU laptop. the problem is while working there is a small sound from the hard disk. Also while shutting down, in the last stage, there is a sound hearing. please give me the addresses of authorised cervice centeres of compaq laptops in coimbatore and kerala as soon as possible

I completely agree with the narration given by you Mr.Prabhat Kumar Bhakat. Even i'm a very old user of compaq and hp products and trust that these products are good enough n are worth for your money. But when it comes to service provided by the (very rightly said) so called HP Customer Service Center (Hyderabad) with the inefficency shown by the service engineers degrades the Product promotion there after by the mouth marketing of those who are victims of such cases. No doubt HP Products are very good. But Service Center Franchises are not upto the mark with regards to the service engineers efficiency of diagnosing the problem to the root. I think they simply give an outer look following their very old check list provided to the service engineers.

For even simple things they ask customers to change the Motherboards & LCD screen (in my case LCD) which had only the problem with the standby lid button...
Surprisingly other service engineers who are doing a real good job to find out the root cause and the best part is they dont even charge for checking the problem.

Hope HP Customer Care concerned officials take appropriate actions in order to check the efficiency of the engineers at their franchise as it is indirectly giving a bad name to the HP Customer Care as a whole..

Whenever the CD/DVD is inserted into the drive it does not show anything . because of the above cheating activities of authorised service centers i went to a local service person.

I am using aHP pavilion laptop since 3 years...now the diplay has gone and only white light screen appears..i met with lot of show rooms in coimbatore and i coudn't get any correct reply...some one saying that strip along with the display card has to be changed and others saying that only strip has to be changed but there is no guarantee for that...so sir, what i should do for rectify my problems. please give a genuene service centres details where i can believe and get my lap top repair in coimbatore..

I hereby request you to look in to the matter of case ID 2913992 with ticket no. : [protected]. I Ramesh Jain partner of Shivoham Associates had bought HP OFFICE JET PRO 8500 around December 2009, they also had bought set of all 4 XL cartridges,

Complain had been registered - engineer visited and mention the problem with cartridges - visited RT Sourcing and received replacement via challan no. 059. dated[protected]. now engineer is mentioning the problem with HEAD.

I don’t know Product like HP have problem in just 2 month, your above service enter had not resolved my problem still now they are not properly replying and my printer is with you dealer at borivali (west) check mat

Now you just resolve the my problem and please reply me that your are going to solve my problem or u want to loose your customer

HP — HP Technical Support

I have purchased HP F4185 AIO (printer cum scanner) in 2008 and i've also purchased 3-year extended warranty (tll 2011).
Recently the software is giving problems and continuous error messages. i visited website and no solutions listed for such errors.
i tried HP diagnostic utility available on the website. But no use. i uninstalled and reinstalled software. no difference. I contacted HP customer care helpline ([protected]). They asked for the seral no of my machine and model and told me to visit their website.
i again came back to the website and contacted through email support. One day they asked for serial number, the next day they asked for proof of purchase.
I sent them the invoice with date of purchase, model no, serial no and also which mentions the 3-year extended warranty.
the next day they asked what my problem is and next day they asked for screenshots and the next day suggested to uninstall the software and download the fresh drivers from the website. I did it. But no difference.
i contacted them again. then they asked for proof of purchase again stating that my product might be out of warranty. if i can prove, they said that they will update their database first and later consider providing their great and wonderful technical advice through email... HP India must be proud of its technical staff. Gradually losing concern for the problems of customers.
