[Resolved]  India Today Book Club — Free offers/gifts

FIRST CASE:I had purchase a Fitness Kit on 5th Feb 2009 The invoice no is ORA[protected] they have send the kit with the wrong shoe size which they have ecknowledge and the people at India Today say they will send the replacement with in 15 days which never happens,
Since this is a reputed company they are taking the general people a ride.

SECOND CASE: I had purchase a Britannica Word Search CD and they were to send a addidas bag along with a holiday voucher and requested to log on to www.bookstoday.in/promos there is no web site by this name are the people from INDIA TODAY cheating the people .

while registering the e-voucher no.ITBC4822 I could not find the link to download the booking request form due to sudden power cut.kindly e-mail booking request form to avail the offer. my membership is
ITBC09828467 & INV.NO.ORA[protected].

Yes, even i am facing the same problem. One more thing is that the book they send under some offer tagline, doesn't looks like the original copy... the copy makes me to suspect whether the book is pirated?

India Today Book Club, 2 Nights/3 Day offer with free 12 bestsellers pack — Non receipt of booking forms to avail the offer and free gift of 12 best sellers books

Dear Sir,

I have made a payment of Rs:2598/ on 24 July 2009 for the above offer and received a booking ID as[protected]. I was told that the necessary forms for selected location booking and payment of Rs:800/= as DD will be forwarded to me within 21 working days. However till date, in spite of my telephone enquiry and emails, no reply received from you in this regards. It is also pertinent to inform here that, both the Toll free number given at the time of booking nos also not working now. In View of the above, I, request you inform me the reason for delay and the faith of this booking and the payment.

I guess this is just another complaint against India Today Book Club & their free gift offers which is a big hoax, a bit like the bogus companies that the country is full of. What is amazing is the impunity with which they blatantly dupe people & manage to remain unaffected. The promised holiday can, I understand, never be materialized as there is no such site as is mentioned.

Is there no way that this utter travesty of faith be brought to book?

India Today Book Club — Refund is awaited for more than 4 months

Sir, I have paid an amount of Rs. 5943.00 on 26th May 2009 for some free stay informed by them over the phone and after succesfully making the payment they have sent the vouchers in some other's name. Hence, the same was sent back and asked for the Refund as I was not at all interested in the said dealing. They have asked me to send the scanned copy of the Credit Card Statement which was sent more than 3 months back. Still they are coming out with somany reasons of their system failure to justify the delay in refunding my amount. I think that there is a total failure in their system only. Whenever I give a call to their delhi number from Mumbai I have to hold it for more than 10 minutes for somebody to answer and after that when somebody speaks they put me on hold for more than 20 minutes. After doing this exercise for more than 6 times, and getting assurances which is not fulfilled till this date. Hence, I request you to kindly let me know where I have to take up the matter to get my refund. Regards. Sridhar

I had availed offer to buy Kodac-C-180 camera, which I have received, but without free gifts. I am told to log on to non-existent site and furnish details to claim them. Why ??? When entire payment has been made in advance why the gift vouchers have not been delivered along with the order ? Why has India Today Group tried to misguide the innocent buyer by giving Non-Existent site ?

I was seriously thinking of availing another offer to buy Samsung Mobile, but now I will wait till this matter is resolved.

I have been trying to redeem my free gift, even called the assistance number given on the invoice. First I had to hold on for ever. When the login was set right found that the promotion number given was wrong. I cannot spend so much time on this useless pursuit.

India Today Book Club MUST get its act together.

The other services, like delivery of the product etc. was very good and timely. But this experience has really upset me.

I have been facing the same problem for the sights given for claming gift. Also some gifts they have sent in the past eg. benetton sun glasses, they are duplicate. you get better duplicates on the road. Books they send are torn or old looking. basically they are like the people who collect scrap and sell. Only diffence is these people cheat as they sell or give sub standard stuff for higher price.

I called at[protected]. My call remined in waiting for 20 minutes. You are requested not to cheat the customers like me and please dispatch my free gift with in three days. Other wise I would have to approach the consumers court.

I ordered and got t books by paying Rs.3198/- vide invoice No, OGA[protected] dated 18/9/2009. For claiming the free gift your site www.bookstoday.in/promos.htm does not work. I called at[protected]. My call remined in waiting for 17 minutes. You are requested not to cheat the customers like me and please dispatch my free gift. . Other wise I would have to approach the consumers court.

I am recommending that Dont buy from India Today Book Club... This is my experience... If you want to lose your money drop your money in RIVER or give it to India Today Book club service.

They are cheating the people. let us unite for a teaching the lesson through Cunsumer cell.
