i had booked a SUMMER BENETTON KIT somewherein the omnth of Aaril 2009, and in spite of repeated phones and calls i received my required parcel inthe month of September 2009 and on: 19/09/2009 at about 1.30p.m. i received one letter addressed by the INDIA TOADAY BOOKS CLUB, an i hhave also called through that letter that MY FREE GIFT IS WAITING PLEASE SEE INSIDE, thereafter I am calling and searching my Gift through E-Mail I also typed the my UNIQUE NO.1889015AO90065109, and my E-Mail ID, but every time computer says that in correct enries please try once again, question is this when I have typed the Unique No. as above mentioned given in the letter/ invoice dated 05-SEP-09. I have also ringed them on the tell No. as[protected], but there too i heard computriesd voice of a lady she spoke me to dial No. 02 for free gifts I pressed the No.2 button but my cell Phone was continued till seven minutes but of no use. So why they are doing like this. Whether they are interested to giver me my free gifts or not, if they are ready so when they are sending the same. Please ask them to send my free Gifts as early as possible. Waiting for your kind and favourable reply.

THis has reference to non-refund of additional amount deducted from my Credit card.. agains procurement of REEBOCK SPORTS KITS.. amounting Rs.3198/-. Its realy shame for Indiatodaybookclub, such a repute organisation taht over 9 months hv gone and they r unable to sattles a small complaint for refund of additional amount deducted form My Credit card. I hv corresponding since last 9 moth wid all the concerned by means of sending mails to [protected]@ @ feedback @ of indiatodaybookclub mails ids but still case is pending they r, seems 2 b, unable to resolve the matter or they dun't want to sattle the matter . I hv to go for teh consumer forum & media too (AAJTAK & IBN 7 ) for the sattle ment of teh same. I am attching all my correspondance and their responses here . Hope atleast indiatodaybookclub will expedite the course of action at their end to resolve the so long pending matter. I request them for looking into the matter and refund the amount as indicated in the my all correpondence.All my communications woth indiatodaybookclun and trier responses are here with for all .

Thanks for the reply. How long I have to wait coz 4 months have already gone and no information about the second parcel. As you told both the parcels have already been dispatched from your end but I recd only one what abt the second parcel . As u said in this communication that as soon as we will receive the parcel back to us we will do the needful . If parcel is not returned back to you than what will happen, you will not refund the money than. You pl. get it cleared /comfirmed from the vendor/courier concerned for trackling of the parcel and do the needful at the earlist

According to this SMS I was contacted on 1st March 2009 for completing the unsucessful transaction and the transaction was sucessful and I got an other SMS that " Dear Sanjay Joshi, your order has been processed. Your order no.is 0GA[protected] with total order value of Rs. 3198/- ; Sender: TA-Bookclub: Message centre: [protected] Sent: 1-Mar-2009 14:38:49" and the amount has been deducted from my ICICI CREDIT CARD twice trating this as a new order where as this transaction was for completion of previuos uncessuful transaction for which order was placed on 28 Feb 2009 . Assuming this as a new order the amount of rs. 3198/- had been deducted . I had placed only one order that too on 28/2/2009. I came to know this when reced. the Statement of ICICI, in which 2 payment were deducted, immediately I complainted for the same to the [protected]@todaybookclub.com and [protected]@todaybookclub.com on 23 March 2009 .. From this date to till date continueouly sending mails to the concerned . Also Mr. Kuldeep Singhji had tele-talk with me on 2 July 2009 regarding ordernos and delivery details of teh item recd. by me immediately i sent him once again the copy of ICICI starement nad copy of Invoice. but as on day nothing has happend and matter is still pending with them.

One thing I would like to pointed out here that the desired amount ( Rs. 3198/- ) has been deducted twice from my Credit Card, copy of the statement is being attached herewith for you ready reference, You are therefore, requested to kindly look into the matter and revert the one entry from my Creadit Card Account or send me a draft of Rs. 3198/- in favour of SANJAY JOSHI, HIG-103, D.K. ROSE APARTMENT, E/8 - TRILANGA BHOPAL - 462039, so that the additional amount deducted from my account can be adjusted. The payment of (Rs. 6397/- ) the same has already been made by me against the ICICI CREDIT CARD STSTEMENT dated 07/03 2009.

Dear Sir,
I have not received any other consingment from you till date except the one of which details hv aleady been given to you. Also please note that I did not place two orders . I had place only one orderon 27 Feb 2009 . Initially, I was informed that the order has been placed successfully (on 27 Feb.09) but p-ayment process failed you will receive SMS or Phone call for furhter processing of the payment gate way . The same was processed after 2 days (ie. on 1 st March'09) . I would like to know that when payment processing was done sucessfully while on 27 th feb ' 09 itself than why do they needed for payment processing again second time on 1 march' 09 and treated as a new order. I hope this is part of mistake done either at your end while placement of order or at the end of payments gate ways which were processed twice without any reasons when Ist payment was processed sucessfully on 27th of Feb 2009 itself.

You are therefore requested to please go through the entire process of ordering and payment of my order and do the needful at the earliest. As suggersted, I will refuse to take the delivery of second consignment, if received, not yet received sofar .

Dear Sir,
I am in receipt of this mail (same mail) second time and I hv already replied you that I hv recd. delivery of only one order (of which scanned copy of invoice and delivary challan were also sent you for refrence). No other delivery has been received till date and the status is the same as on today ie 20/4/2009 5.51 pm . you pl. go thru' all my previous communications(mails) in this regards. you are only sending mails, doing nothing in this regards, if the second order has also been processed and dispatched long back than where it has gone. You pl. just check up wid your dispacthing agency and do the need ful in this regard. I hv already sent you copy oif teh ICICI bank Statement twice with all the deatils . I humbly requested you pl. go through all my correspondence (e-mails and your replies too) so that picture will get cleared .

Kindly do the needful and refund my additional amount debited from my Credit Card immediately.

One thing I would like to pointed out here that the desired amount ( Rs. 3198/- ) has been deducted twice from my Credit Card, copy of the statement is being attached herewith for you ready reference, You are therefore, requested to kindly look into the matter and revert the one entry from my Creadit Card Account or send me a draft of Rs. 3198/- in favour of SANJAY JOSHI, HIG-103, D.K.. ROSE APARTMENT, E/8 - TRILANGA BHOPAL - 462039, so that the additional amount deducted from my account can be adjusted. The payment of (Rs. 6397/- ) the same has already been made by me against the ICICI CREDIT CARD STSTEMENT dated 07/03 2009.

My booking ID is[protected] . Order No. is OGA[protected] . I have paid Rs.3198/- online thro' credit card thro' your telesales activity. This offer was given over phone by your representative Mr. Pankaj Kumar .

I was told over phone that against this offer, i will get 3 days, 2 nights stay at five star hotels at reputed cities in India with family ( i.e. Myself + My Wife + kid upto 5 yr old ) . Also, it was told to me that this offer will be valid for one year .

But, i have received a box in which only reading books & CD's are received and there are no papers of above said offer .

I got the invoice of the books & CD's which i have received in this week . Inv. No. ORA[protected], 31/10/09.

Awaiting your reply on above & guidance to avail the above said package offer .

It is really surprising that a reputed company like India Today is found cheating consumers by false offers.Affected people may resort to consumer court appeal for redressal of grieviances.

They never informed me that the gifts promised could only be claimed online. The gifts are not even free as there are hidden costs and their true value is less than claimed. Moreover the site they send you to for claiming the gift "www.bigcity.in/indiatodaybookclub" is a malware risk.

Not expected from a reputed group like India Today

Something must be done to make them pay up for such a fraud and prevent innocent people being taken for a ride. Why doesn't the media expose such unscrupulous schemes?
