I gave a letter to the Post master Pammal Post office, Chennai, 600075 on June 28th.2008, requesting the Post office to deliver all letters and other postal articles addressed to me, V.KRISHNAN, and/or my wife Mrs. CHAMPA KRISHNAN, to the address #5. VEERAMANI STREET or PLOT 30-31 BUDDHAR STREET, THIRUVALLUVAR NAGAR, PAMMAL, CHENNAI, 600075 to MEENAM CONSTRUCTIONS, 8/167 PAMMAL MAIN ROAD, PAMMAL, CHENNAI, 60075, as we are on a vacation from Chennai. Now I understand from Meenam Constructions and also from my neighbours in #5 Veeramani Street/Plot 30-31 Buddhar Street that no mail has been delivered so far. I also understand that there is no Postmaster in Pammal post office to enquire in to the complaint. I am afraid we might have lost some valuable or important mails.May I request for necessary action?

Be Careful from Indian Post Service!
I had sent a parcel by registered post by affixing tickets of Rs. 157/- on 21/08/2008 from Marol Naka post office (Pin code 400059). The parcel was addressed to Shankarpur, Taluka Chimur, Dist. Chandrapur (Maharashtra). The parcel was delivered on 26/08/2008, but the contents have changed. I had sent an expensive gift (saree) to my sister. But the packet contained 3 unknown books. the original packing was altered. Can we call the Indian Post service reliable??? Should we ever depend on such a currupt service??? I have personally decided to never ever use Indian Post service for sending any important or expensive items.

I sent a article containing documents worth Rs. 43, 787/- through Speed Post service of India Post on 7th July'2008 from Tezpur Head Post Office (PIN- 784001). The article was supposed to be delivered within 100hours but the article is still not delivered on 7thJuly'2008 and the staffs say that my article is lost. They even refuse to refund me my losses. The speed post article no. is EE[protected]IN. My mobile no. [protected]

Jharkhand Public Service Commission had posted my certificate for qualifying SET examination through speed post but I havnt recieved any and on contacting the Commission they say that it is the concern of the postal departmnet and certificate could be reissued only after the confirmation that it had been not delivered earlier. I have been caught between two government offices bearing the burnt of blame games.

The Marathahalli Post Office at Bengaluru, Karnataka (PIN 560037) has recorded apparently forged receipts for several speed post consignments addressed to me and my wife at our home in Bengaluru in recent times. One booking from Kolkata (which I personally made for delivery to my wife, on July 10, 2008, booking reference EW[protected]IN) and two bookings from Mumbai (sender not known to me) on July 13, 2008, with references EM[protected]IN and EM[protected]IN have come to our knowledge. What, if anything, can I do to remedy this and how can I ascertain the senders from Mumbai so that they can be informed of the fact of the mis-delivery? The postman apparently responsible has been identified and a complaint in writing was lodged with the postmistress yesterday by my wife but I am concerned at trying to ascertain details of our losses and finding a solution or compensation.

I would like to complain through your forum that since last one month the postman of our area Avas Vikas colony shivpuri road Jhansi has been transfered to some other place, The new postman is not delivering the postal articles and is dumping the post at a nearby sub post office which usually opens at 12 noon is closed within an our or two.The person who wants to get his dak has to go there and search his dak from bundles of dak.A number of young people could not appear for job and interview test as they did not find their call letters.Telephone bills, Dividend Warrants are not being distributed resulting in disconnection of Phones and financial loss to consumers as refund vouchers and warrants are not being delivered.On complaining to the local Postal Authority there is no positive reply .Please help us.

Please note, i have visited post office at Mahidharpura main branch, Surat for Discharge of NSC (No. 42EE852414) on 14.07.2008, it took more that 2 hours (11.00 AM to 1.00 PM) to discharge my amount becuase of following.

1. Staff is looked very lazy in work.
2. Agents are entitled in between queue, some agents found direct apporach from inside.
3. Persons at discharge counter is found with less knowldege of working and training.
4. No inquiry window or procedure to discharge the NSC displayed in post office.
5. Infrasturcture found unhealthy, it is very tedeious to spend 2 hours as suphocation. No natural ventilaion for the premises.
6. Customers are answered by staff with very crulity.
7. High Extent of mismangement found in all respect leading to post office services in down the way.
8. It also seems, from the behaviour of the staff, that in future no improvement will be made by the management as every body is found corrupted.
9. It was heard from the agent, that 1% fees are charged by the post office employee, which is kept by them as secondary income.
10. By this way routine work is being suffered and people are being harrested by the post office staff by consuming more time, unhealthy enviornement, poor work attitude.

I hope, some body will take action to improve.

This here by to inform you that i received a Speed Post on 08-07-08 at 1235Hrs.

But the delivery man's behaviour is so rude, he talked in such a foul language in my office that effects my image
among my customers.

Moreover when we asked him to calm down he starts misbehaving with them also, and did not deliver the post.

Please take the needful step to atleast save the goodwill of our Indian Postal services, so that no one misbehaves with the public as Mr. Raj Kumar did.

I have sent one letter through speed post to DEUTSCHE LUFTHANSA, FRANKFURT AM MAIN GERMANY on 2 june, 2008 but i won't be able to track my letter whether it has been recived or not. This is really pathetic on part of Indian postal services.The service is really poor.As such it was a very important document that has to be reach there by 8 june, 2008 but i don't know whether it has been recieved on time on the other end or not.Please let me know as soon as possible, otherwise i will take strict action on this as will see into this matter.

I have sent two drafts (college fees and hostel fees) to my son who is studying at St. Vincent Pallotti College of Engineering and Technology, Gavsi Manapur, Wardha Road, Nagpur-441108, on 30.06.2008 by Speed Post. I have booked the speed post at Ernakulam H P O, Pin- 682011 vide SP EL[protected]IN at 1806hrs on 30/06/2008. Now it is 1703hrs on 7.7.2008. Till now the cover is not yet delivered. Today was the last date for payment of fees. Eventhough I have sent the DD one week back, it has not been delivered till now. What is mean by "SPEED" in speed post. When will it be delivered? What to be done to get the mail to be delivered? Can anyone advice.

My mother Anita Sengupta, was staying at Madhyamgram, Kolkata 700129 and was having a Monthly Income Scheme of Rs. 200000 and was getting interest every month there. Following my father's death, it was decided that she would stay with me in New Panvel, Navi Mumbai 410206. She applied for transfer of her MIS account to head post office of New Panvel on 19.04.2008. Her MIS accont number is 105313

Till today, i.e 02.07.2008, that MIS passbook and related documents have not reached New Panvel Post office. I was told that the book was sent to Barasat head post office for sending to New Panvel ut no one is giving me any date or registration number.

She needs this money but we are not getting any idea what to do. Please help.

Hi, I am Kamlesh Jaiswal, Logging a call on behalf of my Friend Neerajkumar Kashyap, He applied for PAN Card through UTISL, and UTISL delivered to Post office for delivery of PAN Card. but still my friends is not received PAN Card after 9 months is already over. I tried to call post of Dharavi Branch but they are not able to tell anything. they all are providing Poor service. If they dont know anything i think " Unlog ko muft ki rotiya nahin khani chayiye, Yeh Government Employee log ko kuch aata hi nahin hai pata nahin kaise inlog ko government job de deta hai."

Trusting Indian Postal service, I sent a parcel to my mother through speed post from Bangalore on 19th June 2008 (Thursday) to Amritsar, It normally take 3-4 days to reach its destination, but in this case it still did not reach. Bangalore post office people says they dispatched it from here on the same day. I traced it online, its even showing it reached Amritsar on the same day. It indicates the parcel sent through on 21st June itself to the recipient, where as it never reached them. Now i am totally confused which way to go. Articals in the parcel were costing around 2000/- Now I have just become a ping pong ball between two post offices. Its very difficult for me to track it from Bangalore if it reached Amritsar, my mother alone can not run around Post Offices. Please help me sort out this issue.

This is a complaint we are raising against the standard of service we received recently when a parcel (ref number above) was received on Saturday 21, June 2008.

Though the parcel was received in a state which was alright and did not cause any suspicion and we signed the postman’s receipt in good faith.

When we spoke to the sender, my mother in law in Bhopal we discovered that the parcel was to contain a birthday card, two t-shirts (one menswear and one womenswear), a CD and manual for Samsung phone and a Tanishq Gold Ring. We checked and discovered that the Gold ring and one of the t-shirts a men’s John Players T-shirt were missing. It was apparent that the items had been stolen by a POST OFFICE employee.

One may ask why the parcel was received. The answer would be, why would a common man doubt the best postal service in the country, SPEED POST. This is not the first time that we have sent or received parcels. Speed Post is a trusted brand and yet we were cheated and robbed.

We are law abiding citizens of India and we have faith in our system but such an incident ahs put us in great doubt. We had faith in the Postal Services but how were we to know that even the best in the country is so unreliable and unsafe.

No declaration was asked for by the Post Office and we just trusted that everything in the parcel will be safe. We were just left with the TANISHQ envelop and the wrapper for the T-Shirt. It would have been a great surprise but this just made us feel miserable. Thanks to the Postal services.

This is a case of theft and a mockery of the postal system and we implore your authority to look into the incident and ensure that the guilty is punished.

We will alternatively approach the media and the consumer forum to seek help in this matter and save many like us from facing such trauma and stress.

Please refer to my Postal Registration No- O960629 it hasbeen delivered on 18.06.08 by Passport Office Lucknow. and today on 21.06.08 postman was bring that post at my resident, 23 New Ismail Ganj Near Ourland School Lucnow and he was demanding of Rs 200/- to handover the passport. i was agreed to pay 50/- for that but he did'nt give and abused us. more over he said that I will return this if you will not give me same amount.
so please look into the matter as I need of that post urgently as I have to take addmission but my passport is awaited.

I was sent 2 parcels from Noida postoffice, counter 1(Sector 37, Pin code:201303) dated 14/03/08.the vide no. given to me are FGN-SEA-RP A128 & FGN-SEA-RP A129.No other no.ie any tracking no was given to me which i feel is ridiculous.how can a person track his/her parcel if the tracking no for the parcel is not given.
Anyways till today ie 19/06/08 i have not received my parcels.i was told by the post office that it will take max 1 month for my parcel to reach UK as it is send by ship.when enquired, the dept never gave a proper justified answer, instead was asked to call at some no to ask about the parcel.when i called there they told me that they need a tracking no. if its not there then its impossible to track the parcel & that i should forget about it totally.this came as a shock.how come they can tell me to just forget about my stuff when they are precious to me plus i have paid for it good Rs 4000.have lodged 2 complaints, last complaint no being [protected].i am totally disgusted with the post office attitude, no doubt people say its Govt office full of corruption, delays.
The female at the counter needs to be given training of how to deal with the customer
Planning to file case against the post office in the consumer court, if my case is not solved asap.
I really want my stuff and would not let the post dept just go away like that.
If nothing else, please let me know by when i can get a response from the postal dept.

I am sorry to inform you that a packet containing some documents was posted by my daughter & son-in -law residing at PHILADELPHIA, U.S.A. from the post office there to my below-mentioned address on 29th. APril, 2008 vide no.LC[protected], transaction no.470, approval no.455041 which was confirmed to be despatched from there on the date i.e. 29th. April, 2008 itself has not reached me as yet;though their postal expense was to the tune of 11 dollars. My repeated enquiry for the packet has yielded no result & they have expressed their inability & helpnessness to extend me any help.

In view of above, i would request you to please look into it & sort out the problem so that your customers are not harrassed unnecessarily for pilferage/negligence of a blacksheep of your department.

I have not recived speed post letter EE[protected]IN
which was sent through Roorkee(247667) post office on 04.06.08(Wednesday)
Where as courriour reaches next day or second next day

I would like to highlight the following postal related problems posted at Kharghar :
1. There is no delivery date stamp on all the letters/ documents that we receive in Kharghar
2. Letters are delivered in a lot once in 3/4 weeks

There have been instances which are consistent in nature with regards to delayed delivery as follows:
1. One of our relatives posted letter at Belgaum on 22-February 2008 which was delivered to me on 19-Mar-2008.
2. The other one posted from Gadhinglaj in District Kolhapur on 22-February is yet to be delivered.
3. I had subscribed to Businessworld which is a weekly magazine. You would appreciate that since this is a weekly magazine receiving these magazines on proper time is crucial. Otherwise if one receives magazines after 2-3 weeks, there is no relevance. You can see from the following instances the irregularities:
a. The first two Business world magazines were delivered in December 07 after a delay of 8 days
b. In January/ February, I received the magazines in a lot of 3. Unfortunately, I don’t have the evidences for the same.
c. The magazine posted on 05th March was delivered on 19thMar. Magazines posted on 08-Mar, 15-mar & 24 Mar were delivered in one lot on 01st April. The proofs of the same have been delivered to Mumbai GPO.
d. Magazine posted on 31-Mar was delivered on 30-April-08

I would like to highlight that the magazines posted on Monday in Mumbai gets delivered to my native place Gadhinglaj ( Dist kolhapur ) which is at a distance of > 400 kms from Mumbai in less than 2 days.

Now Businessworld has stopped sending me magazines by post & instead they have started by sending through local courier

I received three documents on 08-May-2008 as follows:

• Posted at Hyderabad on 20-MAr-08
• Posted at Chennai on 22-Mar-08
• Posted at Mumbai on 20-Apr-08

The first one was related to Reliance Power Limited shares & I was supposed to revert back to them by 20th April whereas I received the document on 08-May.

I had earlier also mentioned in various telephonic conversations with the concerned ones that documents posted at Mumbai reach my native place in Kolhapur ( PIN 416502) within 2 days whereas it takes more than 3-4 weeks for Kharghar post office to deliver in Kharghar Navi Mumbai

This is ridiculous & at times frustrating.
