[Resolved] Indian Railways — Refund against double booking of ticket | |
Dear Sir On 21-11-08, My husband had tried to book e-ticket for himself and myel[censored]nder tatkal scheme due to death in my family.Due to some technical problem in the web page of IRCT.CO.IN.It closed down and there was a message that login session expired and relogin.He logged in again to book the ticket . When he went to take the print out . He came to know that 4 tickets had been booked.When he tried to cancel the 2 tickets, he got the message thatTatkal Ticket can not be cancelled.He spoke to Customer Care person and also wrote email but so far we have not received any favourable response from them.Kindly look into the matter and provide your assisstance in getting our money refunded. Though Railway authorities says that one should verify booking before making booking again, but those who are rarely using the system, above error may occur.
In this regard my opinion is that :
Railway should reject duplicate booking at the server level itself, in case all the particulars matches. This facility is available in some of the private booking sites.
In genuine cases, the railway should consider refund of such tickets.
