[Resolved] Indian Railways — Overcrowded Reserved Slipper Compartments
I was travelling with my family from Burhanpur to Mumbai on Dadar Amritsar Express, DN 1508 train. I was in S-5 Reserved Slipper Compartment. date 25/12/2007 time 5.45 from Burhanpur Station. Unfortunately, passengers without tickets and proper reservation were also travelling on this train. The compartment was overcrowded, Toilets were also crowded with the goods luggage of the unauthorised passengers. I and few co-passengers tried to complaint to TTC, but with no avail. Railway police were not to be seen and we had a very bad journey inspite of paying for sleeper reservations. Was this information helpful?

I am writing this for my fellow passengers who suffered due to attitude of Railway Authorities (TTE & RPF concerned). The train was running around two hours late and reached around 23.15 hrs (original schedule was around 21.30 hrs) at Palghat station & on boarding we found the S10 Compartment is filled with passengers without reservation. It was very difficult for vacating those unauthorised occupants of our seats & berths as most of them was reluctant to vacate the seats. We saw people quarreling with these culprits to get the seat. The scean become more worst by the train reached Coimbatore Junction. around 00.30 hrs midnight. As the train was around two hours late by then most of the passengers waiting there for it was tired and restless. After seeing that their seats are occupied by somebody they become really disturbed and it was very noisy situation in the S10 compartment.
The most disappointing thing was that there was not TTE or RPF personnel there to help us. Those who (railway authorities) came escaped simply. I am a usual passenger of this train and this type of experience is the first from Railway Staff for me in the above train.
Railway authorities are requested to take more strict action on bulk quantities of non-reservation passengers entering into reservation compartments.
