I was travelling with my family on Mar 05 under PNR[protected] on Train No. 14707. Ticket was booked on line for travel from Merta Road to Vapi with boarding at Marwar Jn. Due to sudden change in our schedule, we boarded the train at Jodhpur which is in between Merata Road station and Marwar Junction. As the fare was paid by me from Merta Rd to Vapi my boarding at Jodhpur should not be treated as W/O ticket. TT Mr. Kailash Chand Nag.... forced me to pay for ticket less travel with penalty for amount 1,437.00 under N.W.Railway Excess fare Ticket B 040821.

Am I supposed to pay twice for the same journey and that too with additional penalty simply because I boarded the train at a stattion different than selected by me while booking the ticket. If some kind of rule by Railways exists it is to be rectified and the Railways to be more traveller friendly.

    I have reserved a seat in AC coach for train circar . I opted for side lower berth and the availabilty is 19 tickets.... I got UPPER BERTH...

    See when the reservation availabilty is shown in numbers.... Why dont they display the available seats location like showing a template where berths are available and we can choose the appropriate one... Similar to that of the display for bus reservation is given in redbus,kaleswari travels....


    Try to provide this feature where the passengers can select their berth without keeping their fingures crossed... untill the berth is alloted...

    its a good idea to display the reservation chart with pictures. I think the system should be implemented in the near future
    atleast the number of the berths that are free should be displayed.

      I J Dingankar had complaint several times orally & in writing to Sewri harbour line railway station (Present Complaint registered in complaint book at sewri station is No. 41) the complaint is regarding Smart Card Machines & its refilling system.

      Refilling of Smart Card is not done there past many months now, also Smart Card machines though two are kept but at only one ticket booking office, whereas at the other new office this machines are not there.

      Moreover these machines are not working & if at all one working, many times deduction of amount is there but PRINTING OF TICKET is not done, there is also no facility of issuing duplicate ticket in such a situation.

      When complained to the Dy.Station Manager he replied, that complaints are already forwarded to the higher authorities but no action is being taken from their side so they too are helpless.

      I therefore do request higher railway authorities to kindly look into the matter & do the needful to their passengers.

        Madam
        I'm a teacher of a school in Bandel, Hooghly have to a journey from Barddhaman to Bandel daily by 37828 (M218-old No). It is very sorry to day that the very train runs late for almost every day having no causes. Most of the day it departs the Barddhaman station late, and if the train left the Barddhaman station in time, it stands in Saktigarh Station Outlet for 15 to 20 minutes. We the passengers draw the attention of the station authority ( the Deputy Station Manager) but his behavior is like an antisocial, always shuts his office door and use such slang languages that is not fare from his honour. yesterday[protected], the regular late of the train (15 minute) happened, we the passengers let the information to the DSM of Barddhaman, we also said to him about the Madhyamik Pariksha, but his attitude is as rough as earlier. He also threatened us to send in prison by RPF for the violation of rules.
        Madam, what should we have to do? do we select the way of "Rail Roko" to solve our problem? or rummage the sation to have the right judgment. please do the needful otherwise a large problem waiting for for Ur railway system, unfortunately, which will call for your officer (the DSM-Burdwan)

          We the people of Sahibabad are lucky in receiving a railway Reservation Counter in Sahibabad station in Uttar Pradesh. But on the time, we have to encounter a bunch of problems and inconvenience because
          1. There are five counters out which only two are working.
          2. Sometimes they make excuses like server is not working, battery o[censored].P.S. is not charge and so on....
          3. No Enquiry Counter.
          So, kindly do see to this problem which we people of Sahibabad are facing.........

              I had booked e-ticket through irctc. PNR no.[protected], on Ispat Express (HWH to TATA) for travel on 06.1.2011 There were more than 250 seats available. I had booked for 3 persons and had given the option of at least one window seat. Our seats alloted were diagonally apart across the passage!!! I don't think this was due to lack of 3 adjacent seats. irctc does not claim responsibility for this and the no. given by irctc to contact IR (ph:139) does not have any option to lodge this complain.

                Dear Sir/mam,
                I am a student of FDDI Noida. There is a railway reservation facility near my college. I went there for reservation on counter no.- 535, the counter clerk was Mr. S. C. Verma. I was in queue and found a lots of time is taken by the counter clerk. I walk near counter to ask about the problem but I found some agent gave him a lots of reservation slip and he was busy to reserve agent's slip, when I object to do he fired on me and gave me threatening and leave the counter before 20 minutes to close. After 7-8 minute, he came to counter. May I ask railway is this the way to do a work, why railway pay for this type of employee? Is he capable to do a railway job which is for public service not for self service.

                  i am usual traveller of railway but on 3/02/2011 i bought a ticket of haldwani to kashipur from haldwani railway station for morning passenger train no 55315, but mistake a lady sitting in counter gave me ticket of haldwani to rampur via lalkuan of Rs 14. because i was in hurry so i didnt check my ticket. this was my fault. after crossing thr lalkuan i changed the train and a tte come to me and after checking my ticket he said that it is not a valid ticket. at that time i saw the ticket. so i accept my fault and i requested tte to make my ticket. but he sad that he is not a servent of mine, he will not make my ticket. he pulled me to end of coach near toilet and abused me badely. once he tried to push me out side of the train. but luckely i was safe. after that he tried to caought my neck and he slaped me. he was sayibg that i aterriost and i have a bomb in bay bag. he serched my bag completely and said that he will kill me. i was alone, so i got fared. and i didnt do any thing. after reaching kashipur i complaint to railway and rpf but the did not do any thing. they were sending me to each of other saying that this is not therir matter.

                    this complaint is regarding the late arrival of train no.12705 , from guntur to secunderabad.every day it has become the habit for this train to arrive lateat every station in its path.this is becoming a nucense for the daily travellers and the females travelling by this train,today it has arrived at secunderabad station at 10:45pm, 1 hour late for its standard arrival time at secunderabad.i hope u will go through this matter seriously

                      Railway Department- Harassment & Misbehavior with Female Passenger & Ask Bribe by T.T Mr. S.L Gaur, NCR-035
                      This is regarding the malpractice going on in railway department. The incident as follows:-
                      My self is Mr. Pramod Kumar Verma & my wife Dr. Pratima Verma had to travel from Aurangabad (Maharashtra to Delhi) dated on 18th Feb11 in Sachkhand Exp. The ticket reservation was done through e-thicket of both but by mistake the gender of my wife was written instead of F which we came to know at Aurangabad station when we were sitting in train. The ticket was checked by the T.T at that station & the mistake was noticed by T.T only but he checked my wife’s identity card & driving license in which the same name was mentioned & allowed us travel & didn’t objected on this.
                      In between the journey till Delhi; at the Bhopal station again the ticket was checked by another T.T & he also didn’t objected on our travelling.
                      But when we were about to reach the Nijamudin station i.e. 3.5 hours before the Nijamudin station near to Agra station the T.T came for again checking the ticket, his name was Mr. S.L Gaur, NCR-035 & asked for the ticket. He also noticed because ticket was already marked by other T.T but he made a big issue of it & stated using abusive words with me that we are travelling on false ticket. We even showed ID card of my wife but he didn’t even see it & gave us warning to either get down of train at the Agra station or else give him bribe of Rs.1200 & when we disagreed for giving him bribe then he considered my wife as travelling without ticket & asked for making new ticket with penalty of Rs 2260/-.
                      At the moment we were having only three options in front of me i.e. either to get down at Agra station. Which was not possible because my family was with me? 2nd option was to give him bribe of Rs 1200/-. Which was against our ethics & the last option was to make a new thicket. So finally haplessly we made a new ticket of Rs 2260/- and he just wrote (F) cancelling the (M) in the same ticket & Book number of that payment is B771623 & signed it.
                      The whole incidence was very embarrassing & harassing for us.
                      The railway charged Rs 2260 just changing “M” to “F”. The T.T said very harshly & shamelessly laughing at us saying that we wouldn’t have to paid Rs2260/- if we were agreed for giving bribe Rs 1200/- initially.
                      Why we were forced to make new ticket when the ticket was already checked twice at other stations without any objection (Aurangabad & Bhopal)? Were those T.T’s who checked it were uneducated or were new in the system?
                      Who will explain about the misbehavior of the T.T with the female passenger (my wife). These kinds of incident & misbehavior are the nature of railway department?

                        The online reservation system is corrupted. When railway introduced this facility, the unique ID number was required to book a ticket, now its being changed to favor the agent MAFIA. I tried booking ticket for the 89th day, its shows no availability. The entire quota is being given toi the AGENT MAFIA and ordinary public have no access to book tickets online. Please introduce the unique ID system for the booking again to avoid misuse of such services. We all know railway is getting huge black money from the AGENT MAFIA.

                        I am planning to send a copy of this complaint to the Railway minister, The prime minister and the Supreme court of India hoping some justice (also to the consumer court).

                          TDR was filed for refund o[censored]nsued e-ticket for journey Raipur to Bilaspur in South Bihar Express Train No. 3287 for date 5/9/10. Scheduled departure of train was 8.00 AM but it was late about 10-12 hours that day. Hence passengers did not make journey in that train . Instead they had to travel on unreserved tickets in another train available in morning that day. However TDR filing was tried same day in mornning 9.00 AM to 10AM but System however did not respond for same. Ultimately on second day it could be done .
                          Status remained unrefunded for a long period of 3 months. On 8th of December2010 IRCTC sent mail informing that refund not approved for the reason passenger have travelled on the said ticket. This is totally false . The claim was genuinely made . Cost of ticket too was only Rs. 240/- How a passenger can make false claim. No alternative has been mentioned in Rules by railway so that passenger can get refund after departure of train for cancellation of e-tickets.The only way is to file TDR and wait for refund . Possiblilty of allowing unauthorised passengers on the said ticket reservations by train ticket examiners and thereby showing " Passenger travelled " in record might be the reason behind that. Then how true passenger should keep his refund claim tenable with Railways. In present case what further remedy is available to a genuine claimant.Text Message of IRCTC's mail is given below

                          I booked my journey ticket from Indore to Bhopal in First Class and date of journey was 31/12/2010. When I reached at Indore railway station and searched out the First Class Coach, it was not there. Then I asked to TC, Guard, and some Policemen for the same, all of them replied the same answer that today First Class coach has not been attached. Then I traveled by bus from Indore to Bhopal. When I came back after my tour I registered TDR for refund on 13/01/2011. But so far I haven't got my money back. My complaint reason For TDR is Difference Of Fare In Case proper Coach Not Attached and Reference No is ekt[protected]. Please give a glimpse to my complaint.

                              I regret to inform you that i have received my BIKE through railway parcel
                              on[protected].but the bike has booked at *BHOPAL (MP) on[protected]*.at that
                              time the parcel office people told that bike will reach in 7 days.so i went
                              to samalkota station *(E.G.DIST,)on[protected]*. here the parcel office
                              people told that bike has come on[protected]. so they collected too much of
                              demurage charges ( 137 hours * 10 = 1370-00 ) collected . i felf so much sad
                              about this demurage charge.i request you to reduce the demurage charge and
                              refund the same.i have paid freight charges nearly 1400-00 and demurage
                              charge is 1370-00. total is 2770-00. it is very high.

                              please find the attachement of demurage charges and take necessary action.
                              i wish you will do positive inthis regard.

                                Sir, I have booked two 2nd A/c tickets(PNR No.[protected]Ticket No.[protected] for travel from Trivandrum to Guruvayoor on[protected] in Train No.16127. Wait list No. is 3 & 4. On15th nnight at 11p.m. I and my wife reached at Trivandrum Railway station but came to know that waitlist not cleared. TTR not permitted us to enter in train which started on 11.15p.m. We backed to a rented hotel room and
                                reached next morning at railway station at 5.50.am.for refund o[censored]ntravelled ticket value and leaving the place by parasuram at 6.15 am. But the counterman rejected my claim by saying that 6 hrs elapsed and now there is no rule for refund. Is it a common justice? I hav booked the the ticket by paying Rs.1132/- in advance on 11-01.2011. And reached at station for travel at late night with my wife.The uncleared wait list is not a fault from my side. I am not demanding to cancell a sure ticket after departure of train . Then there is a loss to Railway. I am demanding to refund an uncleared waitlist ticket in which berth another persons travelled .There is no loss to Railway. Here what is the justice of applying a time lag rule of 6 hrs for refund? Railway can refund this ticket as per the wish of the holder within 2 or 3 weeks.
                                See my side Sir. I and my wife suffered much physically and mentally by denying the travel to Guruvayoor in that late night. In that Sabarimala Makaravilak day crowd in the Railway station we cannot do anything to claim refund in late night.
                                A general time lag rule is not applicable in the case of refund of untravelled waitlist ticket value as there is no loss to Railway here.                                   Dear all,

                                  The complaint is about the waiting hall.this was happened when i was travelling from erode to chennai in yercaud express.Depature time for the train is 21:00, but we reached the station in advance.we have to wait for one & half hr in the station. so we went to the waiting hall there it states that THE PERSONS WILL BE ALLOWED FOR TWO HOURS ONLY FOR RESERVED PASSENGERS
                                  .My question is,

                                  1)If the train gets late where we 've to wait since it is not our problem.It is problem of Indian railway.

                                  2)I want the charges quoted in the ticket (i.e) in air tickets they have breakups.

                                  3)Where the Open ticket passengers can wait if the train gets late?. Because they are not allowed inside the waiting hall.


                                  I can't have enough time to complaint with station master so i am raising my questions through this board

                                      I am Sameera Kumar from Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh. Today i.e. 15/02/2011 I was booking tickets using irctc online from Anantapur to Mumbai by Lokamanya Tilak Express.
                                      I used SBI-ATM-CUM-Debit card for payment. The web page said processing and waiting for www.irctc.co.in for a long time, but finally this page expired. I did not get ticket or any useful information. It didn't generate a PNR number. The amount of 2398 has been deducted from my account. I request you to arrange for a refund to my account.
                                      Please let me know what all the information you need to provide a refund.
