[Resolved] Indian Railways — Refund claim for double ticketing
Dear Sir, On 4th June 2011 I was travelling from Secundrabad to Howrah. I had an waitlisted ticket from Guntur to Howrah (PNR:[protected]-I reserved my seat from Guntur since Secundrabad Waitlist queue was too long) which was not confirmed by then, when I on boarded Falaknuma Express (12704) on 4th afternoon from Secundrabad. Since I am not authorised to travel with an waitlisted ticket I bought a general ticket to Howrah. TT charged me some penalty upto Howrah since I was travelling in Sleeper class. Later my waitlisted ticket to Howrah (from Guntur) got confirmed which left me with 2 valid tickets from Guntur to Howrah. May I request some refund since a single person was charged twice for the fare. I am enclosing herewith all my original Tickets for your kind consideration. Regards, Anish Sen ([protected]/[protected] Bank Account Number for Refund:[protected] HDFC Bank Saltlake BA-3 Sector I;Kolkata - 700064 Was this information helpful?

Yes you can claim to railway. you use TDR File for the untravelled Ticket, railway will sanction 50% of the ticket amt.
