[Resolved]  IRCTC — SITE very slow after new railway minister

After our great Mamaata Bainarjee came to power as the Railway Minister, the irctc website is very slow, even on normal days, forget about the usual 8 to 8:30 AM booking rush time. Earlier people were unable to book over the counter whereas people could tickets on irctc, if they login at the right time. Atleast, a small percentage of the Indian Railways Passenger were happy to get tickets without going through the brokers and pay extra. One fine day, the brokers met Mamaata and told " see we are not happy, with the passengers who book tickets online, we want that money too". Mamaata calls up the Railway officials and ask them to pull the plug of all the servers except one. The result" the site is down most of the time", brokers smile all the way to bank, because now every passenger has to via the brokers. "The end" IRCTC... You guys like this story?

Truly Right...
Hey you plot not a fake story but the absolute truth, common people are on the shoes of these ministers.I am trying to book my ticket for a 2 hours and thinking my computer has the virus, but i am not worry as this virus is nothing as comparative to these ministers

Greetings Sir,

Thank you for your helps.

Upto now I have collected a part of my Oct 2009 salary, service certificate and relieving order without rubber stamp.

I had given my SBI life insurance savings of worth one lakh rupees to the management to consider it while deducting income tax.

But they have sent a Form number 16, without deducting any amount for my above said savings and HRA.

Suppose if we consider my savings for Rs 1 lakh & HRA, I need not pay income tax amount of Rs 6, 670/- for my Rs 2, 14, 757/- income.

So I request you to kindly instruct them to give new form number 16 with rectification and my remaining salary Rs 6, 670/- at the earliest.

Also I request you to advise them to give new service and relieving order with rubber stamp in perfect form in their college letter head.

With my able guidance and leadership only ACTCET got Anna University affiliation. Is it the right reward to me?

If management refuses to give my dues and certificates, I sacrifice the both and forget my ACTCET life.

I went to ariyalur from chennai on 24/04/2010 thro Guruvoiyur train. I got unreserved ticket but unable to travel due to much rush. so, I went thro reserved coach but the TTR charged extra two hundred (Receipt no935367). Can I know actual fine and kindly do the needful.

I like the story very much.
After retrying retrying & retrying I was able to book my 2 tickets in approx 2 hours which previously used to take 5-10 mins in non-peak hours.
It seems now every moment is peak!
Yeah IRCTC was really running fast when the BIHARI LALU was the Railway Minister. Good that the BIHARIS have been kicked out of Cabinet else they wud make the Railways another Cattle Farm.
Totally agree. This strangely coincides with the fact that the govt. has decided to stop payments to irctc and has taken catering in its own hands. And now even http://www.indianrail.gov.in has become painfully slow and almost impossible to use. Checking availability is taking more than 6 hours (the site apparently works only in off peak hours).
The IRCTC website is very slow from 08:00 AM to 09:00 AM ie at the time of Tatkal booking daily. Sometime we need to book Tatkal ticket from irctc sites but till the time the site opens all tatkal quota is finished.I think IRCTC trying to help the travel agents, so that pubilic visits these travel agent and pay extra for getting tatkal ticket.
Can some responsible authorities ( if there are any ) pls look in to this issue and help the public.
today, i couldn't open the irctc site.i'm planning to travel tonight, i couldn't the print the eticked due to irctc site server not available. i'm trying for the past two hours..

keep 50 rs with you ... if you don't get the ticket... TTE will charge you 50 rs and give you ticket on the spot..
Completely agree.The site is very very slow.
Public entities like the railways will also come within the purview of the Consumer Protection Act. Therefore, people who get affected because of the railway dept can file a suit for deficiency in service in a consumer court/forum near your place. I was not able to take ticket because of the slow server. I filed a case in the consumer court for deficiency of service and i claimed for damages of Rs. 1, 00, 000. The consumer cases generally get finished within 3 months period. Mine got finished in 65 days and the court granted me 80, 000 Rs as compensation. Therefore, people who get affected, pls file a suit in the consumer court for deficiency of service and get your compensations.
It is truly a frustrating experiance now a days. Forget about the morning hours, even on early afternoon the connection and speed is toooooo slow. Atleast need to have couple of attempts and should have multiple source of funds to get the ticket.

Either it neve opens OR Opens but never allow to select the options. If you are lucky there is 100% chance to get missed during Payment gatway communication...

Completely agree.The site is very very slow.
Also, the site is poorly designed. It asks for password too many times. There was no need for such a password protection. The password should be asked only one time in a session. The password should also not expire so frequently. It is not an internet banking site. What is the worst thing that can happen? The disadvantage is that sometimes (actually manytimes), after we return to irctc page from payment gateway, the irctc session has expired (because it is soo slow) and then we have to book the ticket again and also wait for the refund of earlier transaction. This site must have been made by an incompetent trainee. Highly unprofessional!
I just want say TATKAL quota ticket cannot be made through IRCTC. One question to our H'ble Rly Minister whether you made this web site for Public / Broker Convenient ?
