[Resolved]  Matrix Cellular — Fraud and misrepresentation

I was going to travel outside the country and wanted to avail of the services provided by Matrix for calling cards. A customer service executive came to my office and explained all the expenses involved to me. Thereafter my signature was taken on certain forms which had terms and conditions written insmall print. I signed the forms but was not informed that the terms and conditions were different from those represented to me by the customer service executive. Subsequently, Matrix has charged my credit card with unauthorised amounts which are contrary to the sales persons' representation. I feel cheated and wish to complain against the policies of the company.

I agreee they are doing the same to every customer

unhappy customer
Hi,
I am Rajeev and I am genuinely sick of Matrix. I think that the money they spend on advertising is made by fleecing innocent customers like us. They are a bunch of robbers. I have had a relatively better experience with Clay Telecom - http://clay.co.in/landingpage.aspx . At least their bill was fine, and the network is great. I don’t know if they are the best, but they were better than Matrix. If anyone has had a similar experience, then do contact me at wanderlust.[protected]@gmail.com

Matrix International — unauthorised credit card debits

I provided my credit card copy for blocking up to Rs.5000. for issue of International SIM to my son for travel to Paris at Chennai international Airport on 7th May,11..AS per co's web site the connection is post paid and blocking was as security. But I noticed from my card account that The Co had claimed the bill amount of Rs.3649/ directly from my card.I immediately took up the matter with the co and advised clearly that no mandate to charge my account was given by me as card holder. No response. The co continued to further bills every 15 days with last billon 16th july(my son returned to india on 4th July and cell was surrendered.

The co had claimed all bill amount from my card " WITH OUT ANY AUTHORITY"".I HAVE ALREADY PREFERRED COMPLAINTS.PLEASE RESOLVE

I am from India and recently went to Singapore for a four day trip. My plan was to take a local Singtel prepaid connection on arrival at Singapore airport.
However, at international departure terminal at Kolkatta airport, the salesmen of Matrix cellular convinced me to take TWO Singtel simcard saying it is cheaper than taking a local SIM in Singapore. He assured us saying the same Singtel card which you will take on Singapore arrival will be given to you here pre-activated without any difference in Tarrif. He did not even bother to disclose that they have given me a postpaid card instead of prepaid.
In a hurry, we took the connection. He asked us to sign a form and took Rs5000 as security deposit and assured balance amount refund after we return back.
However, post return to India, we called the matrix guy and handed him the SIM card at kolkata Airport. The matrix guy said, you will get the refund after bill is generated. But on the contrary after one month I was emailed the telephone bill of matrix, claiming Rs 18000 for both the Sim cards.
The Difference in TARIFF in Singtel Card given by Matrix compared of Singtel Prepaid Card at Singapore is as follows:
1. Matrix charges a fixed rental SGD 1 = Rs 37/- PER DAY. Singtel charges a one time sim card charges of SGD 10 with validity for 90 days. Singtel deducts SGD 0.60 per day for free incoming.
2. Matrix local call charges at Singapore = Rs 11/- . Singtel varies from Rs 3/- to Rs 6/- depending upon peak or unpeak hour usage.
3. Matrix ISD call rate from Singapore to India is Rs 33/- per min whereas Singtel call rate with 019 dialing is Rs 6/- or less.
In addtion Matrix charges are costlier as mentioned below:
1. They charge airport fee of Rs 150/- per sim if bought at airport
2. They are charging a surcharge of @10% of bill amount.
The above charges were not informed to us at the purchase point and they take signature from you in a hurried manner in a paper where these charges are mentioned. They just take security of Rs 5000 and assure refund immediately on returning back.
Singtel Prepaid from Singapore would have billed me Rs 1000 for both the cards while Singtel card given by Matrix have raised a bill of Rs 22000 just for a 4 days trip to Singapore.

Hi,
I was traveling to multiple countries (Germany, Singapore & UAE) on business trip and saw matrix counter in Bangalore International Airport. When I approached the representative, he asked about requirement like what countries being visited and if I make outgoing calls. I told clearly to him that I need to make outgoing calls in Germany but did not have need to make calls in Singapore and UAE. The guy offered me to take 2 SIM cards. One for Germany and other worldwide card, on which incoming is free. I was fine with the offer and gave credit card details and took 2 SIM cards. Later matrix had sent a mail and since I was on business trip, I did not have much time to go through the fine lines mentioned in the PDF documents attached to mail. All I knew was the representative had given the right SIM cards for the countries I was traveling to and as per the requirements discussed.

As told to rep, I did some outgoing calls on Germany card and did not make many calls on other worldwide card, but I was receiving calls on the worldwide card

When I received the bill after my return, I was shocked to see the bill for 12684.07. The reason for such huge amount was Matrix had charged for incoming calls in Singapore. When I checked with Matrix, answer I got was it was mentioned in the document attached to mail. Also, every time I call the support guy, they would say they will check and comeback. Matrix would promptly call back and say we are checking on this and will get back. Later they went ahead and charged my credit card as well. Post that I stopped getting calls from Matrix and they are not bothered to reply to my mails and calls.
If it was required to read the documents then rep at airport should have told me that. Otherwise what is the credibility the rep at airport has?
OR was it the trick of matrix to make money by giving wrong information?

With this complaint, I urge matrix to reverse the charges for incoming calls in Singapore.
