[Resolved]  Meru Cabs — Not dependable

This is the second time I had bad experience with Meru cab service.


I had booked via telephone booking, yesterday a cab for Domestic airport drop for 5.30 am today. I got the sms immediately about the booking confirmation



Reference no – AL1A4166



I was told that I will receive a SMS about the driver name and contact details 30 mins prior to the schedules pick up time. Which is 5 am. Until 5.30 am no sms, so I tried calling your numbers 44224422, I was 34th in wait list, the call lasted approx 17 mins, and was adruptly disconnected when I was 2nd in wait list. Again I dialed I was 26th in wait list, again 15 mins and I was 2nd in wait list and the call dropped.



Then I had no other option but to take my own car to airport, where I will have to bear the heavy parking charges as I am going out of town for 4 days. While I was driving I received the sms at 5.55am, which gave me the name and number of driver . whom I immediately called and he said he was not aware of this pick up and he had already logged off.

Such is the pathetic service that Meru cab service is offering, this was my first attempt and is last .



I had almost missed my flight because of your service.

They are worst kind of service providers; i had my cabs cancelled twice in the last month when i had booked them for intra city drops. The worst is they dont even call you to let you know your request is cancelled; only when i called them to figure out why my cab hadnt come, they said that my request had been cancelled.
Complete agree!!! When i call to book a cab for less that 10 kms they never have cabs going in that direction!!! That is funny

Meru Cabs — pathetic customer care

Hi,
I am extremely disappointed with the customer care unit of meru cabs, bangalore. I have registered a complaint regarding the excess fare the cab driver charged but there is no follow through what soever. Every time when you called them, they will say our customer relationship manager will call you today but it never happened. I called them more than 8 to 9 times but got no response from them. I am deeply dissatisfied with their service and will never recommend the service to anyone.
A bunch of are taking care meru... all are unprofessional and under educated i think thye must be employed people who are not at all graduates also. complete crap of people
Hi, I too agree with the fact that MERU have the worst customer support I have ever experienced.

Meru Cabs — cheating

This email is with reference to Booking#3687380. the pickup time given while booking the CAB was 7PM. driver gave a missed call after 7PM from a different number asking for the address and the landmark.
he said he will take atleast 20 mins. to reach the place. he was @ Katrikupe that time and my pickup point was JP Nagar 5th phase.
Due to all this my parents missed the Rajdhani train from Blr-Delhi.
My MOM has a leg fracture and had to suffer a lot.
I want to escalate this and need a immediate call back .
Have also complained about this over the phone.

Its been more than a week since i have placed this complaint but i haven't received any call back from the Customer Relation Manager.
Till now i have called up Customer care four times asking for any update and an action on my case. everytime i get the same response that 'Today you will get a call from us customer relationship manager' .
I have also faced the same rude behaviors from Meru Cab service people.
My Guests had arrived from Mumbai and landed at Delhi T3 terminal from where they took Meru cab for going to Defence Colony. It is a direct well known ring road, about 18-20 kms. But the Meru driver took them to East of Kailash, Kalkaji, Sri Nivaspuri and after two hours of driving brought them to Defence colony charging Rs 680 ( instead of normal meru fare of Rs. 400) .

On lodging a complain with Meru, they regretted the incident and confirmed that Rs. 180 would be refunded immdly . That was nearly a month ago (early May 2011), but no refund or even apology letter.

A have now blacklisted MERU .

Meru cab service is a worst service in town
Same experience I have wheneverI am booking even for far distancer m getting the same response that slots arre full. Once I called up 24 hrs prior at morning 7:30 am for booking of next dat 7:35 am they are still saying slots are full, how is it possible, the time duration for booking was more than 24 hrs. I raised a query how can you book a cab before 24 hrs because it's into your companies policy. No one is responding on this as well,

Meru Cabs — Payment issue

I booked a meru cab on 28th Sept'11 from NOIDA to Old Delhi Railway Station. Firstly, i tried to make payment of amount INR 516/- through my HDFC credit card but due to some technical failure, it showed transaction as unsuccessful. So i had to pay INR 516/- in cash to the driver.

Later on, when I checked my HDFC bank statement, it showed that the online transaction of INR 516/- was successful.

I have called Meru team several times and its been around 45 days, i havent got any response from their end about the status of my refund. I feel cheated of my money.

Please register a complaint against Meru Cabs.
this is unprofessional attitude from Meru Cabs.

Then I had no other option but to take my own car to airport, While I was driving I received call at 5.45 P.M. from the driver. He said he was not aware of the pick up and he has received the message at 5.45 P.M. .

Meru cab service is the worst I have ever seen. They do not really know the meaning of cab service.
If you book a cab for Airport or Railway station for midnight they will call you 15 minutes prior to the booked timing and tell you that they dont have a cab. This happens even if you have booked the cab 2 or 3 days before. Then midnight you will be searching for alternative options to reach your destination, .
If they cannot provide service and if they are not sure if they can provide the service as promised they should not take the booking
First time in my life I have heard this desclaimer from a cab company that the booking confirmation will be done only 30 minutes before your journey even if you are doing the booking before 2 days
So if you are planning for a cab please aviod "Meru" as they are one ridiculous cab service with not much cabs and outspoken drivers
I have tried to use Meru cab twice with booking and both times the experience has been horrible. Once, I booked cab for airport for 6am. The cab did not arrive and when I called they told that there server is down and so bookings are being catered. I missed my flight on that day but fortunately as the flight was delayed I used another local cab to catch the flight.

Another time, I specifically asked that I will like to pay by credit card. I was told that their all cabs are equipped with caredit card machines and I can pay by any card. To my horror driver told that most of the time the card machine is inoperational and he cannot take money by credit card. I was in shock as I even did not have the cash to pay.

HORRIBLE SERVICES .. NEVER TO USE MERU CAB

Meru Cabs — Fake Promise

I have harsh feelings for meru cabs as they had made fake promise with me. I made a call and ask weither I can pre book a cab 10-15 days before or not, the executive replied in a yes and when I called actually to pre book a cab they refused to do so. If you people don't provide this service than such false yes?
Pathetic service from meru. I had booked cab from ghatkhopar to Chembur for 5.10 am 15th May. I had done the booking well in advance through their app that is 14 hours prior. While i was waiting for the driver details suddenly the booking disappeared from the app. I did not get any msg from merubon driver details till 5, 05 am. Then i cald the call center asking confirmation. Exec on call told the cab is delayed by 10 mins and you will recieve the msg shortly. After 10.mins i get msg we do not have cabs available sorry for the inconvinience. Early mor at this hour how to look for transport i cld the call center again got the same answer andthe exec was not able to answer why i was not intimated earlier and got details only after i called the call center. Being new to the city was mentally harrased with such service . If they can deliver why they use tag "Rely on us". Customer should.be informed atleast 20.mins prior to.booking time cab is not available but they did not borther and conviniently erased the booking from the app as well.

Would.not recomend meru. To.any one... pathetic service
I am using Meru cab regularly. Last time I had a big jolt when meru cab didn't arrive on time. I was suppose to reach the station and finally I made a call. Answer was that there are not enough cab available to send to you. Can you imagine a passenger who had catch a train and comes to know at the dead end that there's no cab!!! I request people to check your cab and call them before 2 hours or you miss the flight!!!.Ny meru Ref. No. 26649160 this was booked from Bangalore for 20th May 2014 for 17:45.
We will never ever in our life travel by Meru cab and will never recommend to anybody.I with my family took Meru cab for Bangalore airport. cab No. KA03D5681, Chaufer: krishna murthy s, Cell no.[protected]. It was the most horrifying experience of our life. The cab was so very dirty and stinking. And after we called and complained to Meru cab call center the chaufer misbehaved with us so much. It seemed he was least bothered of his complaint at Meru cab call center. He even had the guts to say that keep complaining to my company and you can complain even to police nothing will happen. Such dirty cars and such ill mannered drivers with a company like Meru!
hh...Meru the feel good company. The best cab service in the whole country. I will share my pleasant experience with this wonderful cab company.

So, my pleasant trip began. The drive told me on the middle of the highway that his meter is broke. So, I will have to pay by his vehicle's trip meter. I resisted so he stopped the cab on the middle of the highway and very politely asked me to get out.
In the middle of the highway, I was not gonna find any other vehicle so I had no other option than to agree to the gentlemen.
That is not enough. During 7th class we were taught that displacement is the shortest distance between two points. But of course this driver never took those lessons during his school. He took left//right turns in such a way that the distance which appeared on google maps as 21.6 KMS turned out to be 37 Kms. As per him, this was the shortest possible route at 1 am at night. It took me 1 and half hour to cover the distance on completely vacant roads. Wehevener I advised him for a straight line route, he politely told me to get out of the cab.
Unfortunate part is these companies still claim of customer delight. I am so disappointed with the service that I am writing this at 3 am in the morning.
Never in my life I will use Meru again. Nor I would recommend to anyone. I would rather use a local cab service with cab drivers who have at least some conscience or moral values to not loot the customer
