This is to bring to your notice, that some streets in Kalkaji locality have been brought under Mixed Land use by MCD authorities. The residents of these residential localities which have been brought under mixed land use, are facing lot of hardships. The shopkeepers are encroaching upon the MCD land to extend their shops.
For displaying their goods, they have extended the shop to the pavement. Due to encroachment of pavements by shopkeepers, there is no space for pedestrians to walk. The pedestrians are at great risk as they have to walk on the road which is constantly having fast moving traffic.
The persons visiting the shops park their vehicles haphazardly causing traffic jams and obstruction for movement and parking of vehicles of residents.
Due to commercial activities a number o[censored]nsocial elements / suspicious looking men are seen moving around who pose a serious security risk for the residents of the locality as these unsocial elements keep an eye on the movement and activities of residents and are always on the prowl of vulnerable residents/houses.
The basements are being unauthorisedly used as shops/showrooms/godowns for storing unauthorised goods, whereas to hoodwink the authorities, the signboards display professional activity.
The street has been brought under mixed land use due to vested interest of a few builders/shopkeepers causing tremendous inconvenience to peace loving residents.
MCD authorities are requested to look into the above aspects and take steps for denotification of the street from Mixed land use to a residential status. Was this information helpful? |
