[Resolved] NIIT — Refund of Fees

My name is Alok Bharat Dand. I enrolled for Oracle DBA course in NIIT Matunga in June 2008. The counseller Ms. Maya told me that the course is of 10 months and its divided into four modules. Each module would be costing me around Rs. 7, 303 (including taxes). I paid the fees for all the four modules and my course started in July 2008. The first two modules got completed smoothly by December 2008. But after that still today the rest of the modules had not started. Now today I came to know that my course has been shifted to NIIT Bandra center due to shortage of students and Bandra Center has good infrastructure to support the course. I spoke to Mr. Prashant (Center Head, Matunga) on this and he told me that for one module I will need to go to another center. As I am a working professional, I am not able to take out time on weekends also for this course. When requested for refund, he cleanly said that the fees won't be refunded as its already submitted to Oracle Corporation and we cannot ask the money back. My point is why didn't they told me about this switch before I enrolled for the course and on top of it when I don't want to go ahead with the course, they are even not ready to refund me the amount. I strongly agree with Alok and the situation shouldn't have arise if Ms Maya could have discuss with the higher authority in NIIT before saying no as this invites bad reputation to the Organisation.

Few of my colleagues have said many things about the NIIT, but after going through Alok's problem I am confused whether or not should pursue course from NIIT.

Just an update to the above complaint which I have posted, I was promised by Mr. Prashant that I would be getting the refund cheque on 06-Apr-2009 but till today i.e. 11-Apr-2009, I haven't received the cheque. When I went to the center to ask about it, I was told by Mr. Prashant that the cheque has not yet came. Its been around a month now since I was told that I will receive my cheque. I would like Ms. Shalu Bhatia also to read this comment and suggest me when will I receive my cheque ?

its really disappointing that the institution is so irresponsible... and inefficient.. Shalu Bhatia i[censored] r reading this... should be ashamed this man Alok has been cheated... and have given him false hope

I had registered for GNIIT course offered by NIIT Nashik city center. But they are unable to start my batch even after 9 months.Initially they stated the reason o[censored]navailablity of staff. Now I am doing my engineering,so I can't start the classes anyways.So please ,give me justice. I want refunds only.

I had registered for GNIIT course offered by NIIT Coimbatore(R.S puram) city center. But they are unable to start my batch even after 4 months.Initially they stated the reason o[censored]navailablity of students to start the batch even though we are seven people together.I had paid Rs. 5000 of initial amount, Before paying the amount they told they were providing SCJP for they intimated amount(8383) but after the booking of course they said they will provide only participation certificate from NIIT. Now I am doing my final year of engineering, so I can't start the classes anyway.So please, give me justice. I want refund only.
