[Resolved] PVR Cinemas, Inox And Other Multiplexes — Overcharging

Dear Sir/Madam, PVR, Inox and other multiplexes grossly overcharge for refreshments. For example a 500 ml softdrink at PVR costs Rs 60 (almost 3 times the market rate) whereas a 300 ml cup costs Rs. 50 (5 times the market rate). There is no justification for such gross overcharging. In addition, by keeping the price of the 300 ml and 500 ml almost the same, they are indirectly forcing consumers to purchase 500 ml cups. PVR also charges a Rs. 30 "convenience fee" for online bookings. Am not aware of any other company charging a 'convenience fee'. As a consumer I would be grateful if you could look into these issues. multiplexes — over rate in cinema/multiplexes

melti/cine plexes sell coldrinks for 25 rs,when the rate is 10 rs.no bill is provided ana beverages from outside are not allowed.

The highly overpriced tickets from PVR are not even justified by quality of service as the theaters are in an appalling state. The whole theater reeks of odor like in a morgue and all the seats are filthy. Added to that the quality of sound is also extremely poor. One does not pay two hundred rupees to have such a pathetic experience. The 30 rupee convenience fee looks like something of a joke to me. Must the consumer pay for reducing the organization's overheads? The online booking system greatly simplifies the booking process as well as reduces staff requirement and yet the consumer must face the brunt. In my opinion the corporation behind PVR cinemas must be sued for wrong business practices. I've boycotted those screens and I hope everybody else too does the same. India doesn't need more greedy corporations. Our government is enough for that.
