[Resolved] PVR Cinemas — PVR Cinemas Gift Card SCAM | |
Hello! I have 2 PVR Gift cards worth Rs.[protected]x2). But when I try to book online ticket it not saws me payment by gift card option ! Even no option to check expiry date or balance (as per given details in your giftcard faq page!). So, I send email to PVR support team on 24th Nov.12 and I get reply from them on 26th Nov.12 (complain ID: CRM[protected]) that "online option is not available" ! So, I visited their " PVR cinema (RahulRaj Mall, Surat-Gujarat)" with my friends on 26th Nov. AND they said that this card is not active and I require to active it online OR require to contact support team! So, again I reply on 26th Evening that how I active it and know card related details ? But than still till today not a single reply!!! Is this cheating or what ? This looks like they are running SCAM Gift card offer on their site! As per their site "http://www.pvrcinemas.com/events-promos/gift-terms-conditions.aspx" they clearly said that "This gift card can be used to pay for tickets booked via www.pvrcinemas.com (including surcharge)" but its WRONG ! The same happened with me as well. I got an PVR gift card worth Rs.500/- through an promotion in my office. I am Attaching the photo of the PVR gift Card. Pls. notice few points:
1.The Card Came in a plastic shrink wrap
2.Nowhere on the card they have mentioned the expiry date of the card.
3.Their is no contact number / Call center number on the card, where a customer can go and inquire about it.
4.Nowhere it is written the procedure to Activate the card
5.If you go to the PVR website, no where they have mentioned the procedure to activate the card or find out its validity date
6. Even the contact number[protected] on the PVR website is wrong and no where there is any other contact number or call center number on their website.
I believe they actually do not care about their customer and do not want their customer to reach them any how. I am very much let down by this incident and would caution everyone to think twice before buying PVR gift cards.

Same here, my brother got two PVR Cinemas Bouquet of Smiles Gift Card worth Rs 500 each. And when we tried to book tickets online, it said the card is expired. Today is went to PVR Cinema in Forum Mall, Koramangala, Bangalore, the Manager (Mr. Manjunath) told me that the card is expired, when I told him that we never activated it, he said that the card gets activated the moment they sell it.
Now, if this is actually the case why do they write "THIS CARD IS NOT ACTIVATED UNTIL ACTIVATED" to give the false impression that it will be activated from first usage. They should simply write "THIS CARD IS ACTIVATED FROM THE DATE OF PURCHASE".

Later I tried to purchase the ticket online through www.pvrcinemas.com but as soon as I tried to validate the card, my session expired. But its OK since I just validated the card and didn't make a transaction. So I went again and tried to validate the card, it was showing zero balance. By this time I came to know that I have been cheated.
I don't have any hopes that my money will be redeemed but I was surprised that a big name Like PVR can have such a bad service and worst website. NEVER GO FOR PVR GIFT CARD...
