[Resolved]  Reliance Retail Ltd. - Reliance Fresh — Beware - Be cautious while you shop at Reliance Fresh

I am a resident of Chennai and (used to) be a regular shopper at Relaince Fresh - Porur store besides in other areas. I would share my experience & would advise you to be cautious while shopping at this Stores
i) Overcharging –
a.Bill price higher than M.R.P
ii) Schemes by Manufacturer
a.Mentioned on product packaging are not offered at billing counters & communicated that scheme is not valid for Reliance Stores or sometimes you even wont be bothered to take one.
iii) Hot Offers
a.Items shown as hot offers on shelf charged at M.R.P at the billing counters
b. On enquiry, it is communicated that offers are not valid and expired. On complaint the discounted labels bar codes are immediately withdrawn from shelf but to my surprise the same come back the next day. I have specially observed this
c. While announcements are underway, the consumers are told at exit that special gift offer was valid till stock last. While actually consumers are still shopping due to high value purchase required.

iv) Multiple billing
a. Single item billed twice as the counter guy uses the gun twice very fast without consumer coming to know.

In the past, I have caught Reliance 7 times out of 11 times shopped at your stores (post I started noting these & catching Reliance store guys playing this gimmicks)

On each instance Shop supervisor or Manager advised me not to complaint at Reliance office & they would take necessary actions.

For my purchase of 2nd March 08, on insistence that I would like to make a formal complaint (as it was becoming consistent), the following was observed.
a)No customer complaint Form at any of your stores,
b)In name of customer complaint register they have a simple register which is mutilated, and kept at back room locked, which I believe no one reads
c) On insisting for where to make complaints they hand you a feedback form which has to handed back over to the same supervisor with no assurance that same would be reported.

Mr. Rajshekaran S. – Area Manger for the store was shameless and rude and kept smiling while all the discrepancies were shown to him. I challenged him that as always I can show him lots of items where shelf Hot offers or price stickers don’t match with the billing price at counter. He agreed that it is common with all Reliance Fresh stores across and is part of company Policy and he is helpless in this.
It seems that during training, they are advised to work this to increase their revenue . It is part of the training module for increasing revenues.It happens as no consumer is bothered to notice that at billing and just want to buy and leave then bother what he is paying for.
On being asked if he felt ashamed for cheating consumers, his views was he felt so working for this company. He also refused initially to give Mumbai office address but on much insistence advised one of his juniors to do so.

This note is for all who shop at Reliance Fresh stores.

I have visited Reliance super at Flamz Mall and they were announcing that on purchase of garments worth Rs500/- reliance will give redeem voucher of Rs250/- and the amount will be adjusted against their purchase of garments between 12th May to 22nd May, 2008. When I visited to redeem my two vouchers they start saying that these voucher will be adjusted only when I will purchase garments worth Rs=1000/- to adjust the above two vouchers. Whereas they was never announced at the time of offer. So please be careful before being cheated with these kind of tectics.
We want to inform you that we went to reliance fresh in amritsar(ranjit avenue branch) and shocked to see the behaviour of Branch head- Mr. Sharma. We have bought the order of Rs 374/- and by mistake we want to change one item and shocked to see the behaviour of mr. sharma(branch head). he said you cannot change the item and nor we give you the goods now... and they have taken the money for the bill. and we have given all the purchased items for our respect.
i am the man never of two minds.
I agree the same happen with me as overcharging on MRP and no stoxk for replacement even packed the product with the scheme and hot Offer thery are offering

I have made a purchase of about 1400 at Reliance Fresh, Vanasthalipuram, Hyderabad, AP.two days back.
One of the items purchased is Jersey Vest with sleeves-Three Pkts.I saw 95 size on the top pack and expecting that the other two packs below it are also 95 size picked them without ferifying.I used reliance one card no.[protected].
On opening the pack today I found that one pack is of 95 size
and the other two of size 85.
I went to the store for exchange.Unfortunately the receipt is misplaced and the shopkeeper refused the exchange.Though it is important to have the receipt, it is requested that thje shopkeeper may be permitted to do exchange.In future we shall take proper care of the receipt
I also recomend buyers to be cautious while Shopping at Reliance Fresh Stores.All sort of Malpractices like Charging More than MRP of the Product, Billing Item Twice by Gun scanning, Selling Goods after expiary Date are quite common on all stores.Once I was Charged Rs.101/- each for Two packs of Sweekar Sunflower Oil against the shelf price of Rs.82/- & MRP of same rate of rs.82/-at Jalandhar Store.Money was refunded on my Insistence & threating to take the Matter to Press & before District Authorities.Again I have been chrged today Rs.22/- against MRP of Rs.20/- & no refund has been offered except the verbal apology on Telephone after Registering my Complaint in the Complaint register.One store even refused to give the complaint register & their manager mentioned that such things are bound to happen,
I am surprised at the apathetic attitude of the staff of Reliance Fresh store CHEMBUR MUMBAI and their uncaring attitude towards custemer by 13.00pm to 15.00pm there is no one on the counter just we have wait for them & wast our time.if i go to big bazar they gives me best service

i am not quite agree with all of you ...ok some time you find this type of mistake but you cannot conclude the overall tactics..yes its occurred some time because reliance fresh give the product at reasonable price so they manage beautifully ...I have seen that when if there are shortage of fruits and vegetable then customer then customer became very panic because of they are addicted to buy all at price cheaper rate ...and also reliance employees are always helps to customer with a polite manner ...

Very true. They are taking people for a ride. I had a similar experience at Geddanhalli, Bangalore outlet on 20.6.08. The items veg/detergents were packed in two packets, which as usual they kept on the floor. I forgot one packet which contained the detergent & took the bigger pkt containing veg. I realised on 25.6.08 that 1 pkt was missing. I searched for the bill, the lower portion of the bill containing the date, time & cashier details was missing. I got the date & time from the credit card chargeslip. The Cust Care (??) at the outlet refused to even entertain the same sating that they require the complete bill to find out the billing cashier. When asked to locate the bill in the system with the amount, date & time they refused & gave the office no. of Mr Vijay Shetty. A company which uses their systems to cheat on the people is very dangerous. One can shop at Reliance outlets at their own risk. Beware all !
i have the same experience. the store manager sold items at MRP while it was advertised to be less, and on complaining he was very rude to me. someone needs to do somehting about this. i just dont know where to complain.
I was told that there is a free gift on every purchase of Rs 599 and above. I purchased for Rs. 1200 at Reliance Fresh, Hastinapuram, Hyderabad. The system advised the Biller to give me the gift(It came in the invoice). Now behold, the biller says gifts are out of stock and asked me to leave my details with them and they would call back. One week elapsed, no call. So, today I decided to visit the store and enquire about it in person. The store person says "We are saying the same thing to all customers, no stock of gifts, we will call you again". I asked if they had my contact details still, no response. I then asked for a Feedback form, they gave me a white paper to fill up my complaint. I am sure of some fraud going on at this location. I experienced the same thing at More supermarket (Birla owned), so suspect nothing new. Just plain fraud by employees.
I agree totally with you, my experience at Delhi is exactly the same and it seems to be their countrywide cheating policy. They have no proper website. Only a site www.reliancefresh.info which has the email only for franchise enquiry and nothing for customer care or customer complaints/ feedback. more then that they lauch some free scheme. but the truth is something else. i wasted 2-3 hours in reliance super. They promise to give 1000 rupees worth apperals with the purchase of 1947rs. but i was told that i have to purchase again more then items 1000 rupees to get that scheme. Anyway i felt that they cheat me and others,
I had purchased 2nos (Buy one get one free) double jaipuri bedsheets from your Reliancefresh outlet at BOMIKHAL, BHUBANESWAR, ORISSA on 17/8/08 at around 11.30am. Inspite of my repeated insistance the salse man refused to either show me or check it by opening the pack. So I was compelled to buy the pack as such. While using one of them 18/08/08 I discovered that a hole was there on the bedsheet with rough patches around . I immediately rushed to the said outlet to get it replaced but they blatantly refused to do so and tried to harassed me . The concerned Supervisor was Mr. Nalini Kishore shukla.If my grievance is noy addressed to suitably I will lodge a complain in dist. cunsumer forum Khurda and shall also flash the same in media.Since this is highly indecent and uncalled for in a reputed bussiness house of your stature I sincerely hope yhe said bedsheety shall be replaced immediately and a word of apology forthcoming from you.

Yes, i must say that in currently market standards where the market is customer driven but in Reliance it is soully for customer cheating, i dont know where to complain as i had similar experianced in Reliance Super in Navsari where i purchased arround amount 4000/- in some sale but the billing was done i found nothing was in sale and i had to repurchase of amount 2000/- i do the same and i reached at counter at 20:00 i waited 2 hours on billing counter and when i complaent to their store manager he simpley said "AAP KO YEAH KHARID NA HAIN TO LO OR CHALTE BANO" i was really shocked listining this i thourhg every thing there and walked out of the store but i still believe that i must hited couple of punches on his face before leaving. can anyone give me coustomer care help line of Reliance super??
I have observed that the staff in general is untrained, not customer friendly and talk to each other in very loudly and in filthy language before the customer.
I am a regular visitor to Reliance store at Subhash Nagar, Delhi, but mostly I come without any purchase as the vegetables are of very poor quality( not fresh), highly priced, provisons at MRP, and the staff is rude, not customer friendly and they talk loudly in filthy language with each other before the customers.
I am a regular Buyer of Products from Rellaince Fresh, at Vrindavan Society, Thane-(West). At times When Shopping for the Week, Most of of the items listed are not avaiable, or there are no Less Quantity packing available. Off-Late Vegetables available are of the Lowest Quality in terms of Freshness and hence Shelf life is not exsisting. Milk sold gets spoiled. Complaints go unheard and not attended too. The attriation rate of Employees working also are too high and you find new faces all the time you visit the store. One is forced to Buy 1 Kg or Half Kg Packs. Most of the Important Daily necessities are Priced at MRP and do not attract Discounts. Even the Quality of Pulses are Bad.

Difficult to understand What Relliance is Upto and What Freshenss does the Name suggest.
