[Resolved]  Reliance Retail Ltd. - Reliance Fresh — Beware - Be cautious while you shop at Reliance Fresh

I am a resident of Chennai and (used to) be a regular shopper at Relaince Fresh - Porur store besides in other areas. I would share my experience & would advise you to be cautious while shopping at this Stores
i) Overcharging –
a.Bill price higher than M.R.P
ii) Schemes by Manufacturer
a.Mentioned on product packaging are not offered at billing counters & communicated that scheme is not valid for Reliance Stores or sometimes you even wont be bothered to take one.
iii) Hot Offers
a.Items shown as hot offers on shelf charged at M.R.P at the billing counters
b. On enquiry, it is communicated that offers are not valid and expired. On complaint the discounted labels bar codes are immediately withdrawn from shelf but to my surprise the same come back the next day. I have specially observed this
c. While announcements are underway, the consumers are told at exit that special gift offer was valid till stock last. While actually consumers are still shopping due to high value purchase required.

iv) Multiple billing
a. Single item billed twice as the counter guy uses the gun twice very fast without consumer coming to know.

In the past, I have caught Reliance 7 times out of 11 times shopped at your stores (post I started noting these & catching Reliance store guys playing this gimmicks)

On each instance Shop supervisor or Manager advised me not to complaint at Reliance office & they would take necessary actions.

For my purchase of 2nd March 08, on insistence that I would like to make a formal complaint (as it was becoming consistent), the following was observed.
a)No customer complaint Form at any of your stores,
b)In name of customer complaint register they have a simple register which is mutilated, and kept at back room locked, which I believe no one reads
c) On insisting for where to make complaints they hand you a feedback form which has to handed back over to the same supervisor with no assurance that same would be reported.

Mr. Rajshekaran S. – Area Manger for the store was shameless and rude and kept smiling while all the discrepancies were shown to him. I challenged him that as always I can show him lots of items where shelf Hot offers or price stickers don’t match with the billing price at counter. He agreed that it is common with all Reliance Fresh stores across and is part of company Policy and he is helpless in this.
It seems that during training, they are advised to work this to increase their revenue . It is part of the training module for increasing revenues.It happens as no consumer is bothered to notice that at billing and just want to buy and leave then bother what he is paying for.
On being asked if he felt ashamed for cheating consumers, his views was he felt so working for this company. He also refused initially to give Mumbai office address but on much insistence advised one of his juniors to do so.

This note is for all who shop at Reliance Fresh stores.

While billing for apples with shelf rate of Rs.110/-per Kg., person at the counter charged @Rs.170-per Kg.saying that they belong to a lot with that rate.On taking that billing person along with his supervisor to the place where those apples were kept and marked Rs.110/-per Kg., he smiled unashamedly along with his supervisor without being sorry for such a demeaning act.
This case happened at Reliance-fresh store at Vaishali Nagar, Jaipur, Rajasthan about a month back.

i am reliance customer for 2 and half years but never faced any problem.

compaired with reriwala / nukar shops and competitore its simply BEST
I agree with the complainants as no body listens to the greivnce . We only get the steriotype reply that "we are looking into it" AND we never get the redressal.


My daughter, Sheetal Soni, has a "Reliance One " Card No. [protected]. She has been making purchases from the Reliance Outlet since 2007. Recently somebody has redeemed 128 points from the Card. WHO ?? AND WHEN ? ? NONE OF THE STORE PERSONS COULD GIVE A SATISFACTORY REPLY.. I have made a number of complaints to the "customercare Cell BUT no response. We totally do not understand as to why we should contnue our dealings with Reliance. It is not the question of a few rupees BUT it is certainly a question of the faulty or rather fraudulent attempts which must be redressed.

I hope somebody from the Management will have the matter looked into.
Hi I would like to add a incident which happened to me on 28Feb10 . I had visited the reliance fresh near IRC village Bhubaneshwar. After paying all my bills the security asked me for a physical check up of my nephew.Though I co-operated with him . After his checking over I inquired him that what prompt him to do it. He said that he got the alert from inside. I was astonished and thru out my life span no body has questioned on my integrety these chaps sitting at a shop with in few min thought that we are the shop lifter???.I was speech less. My advice to all the fellow customers that if it happens with you do not surprise the guys are poorly trained how to handle the customers they least bother about it.
We all know Reliance is a Big corporate giant, they are good in Manufacturing & maintaining the Corporate status.
they are too new & young to be in the Retail field, they need to get trained from well establised Retail Gaints such as Carrefour, Geant, METRO etc.,

environment effects toward reliance fresh
i am mehul arora from sec 22 chandigarh.yesterday i bought some goods from your store(reliance fresh sec 22b)in the morning 10.30 am.but i noticed 1 thing that store manager's very rude behaviour against his staff he always using abusing language for his staff on front of people.this is very ridiculous ..he dont have manners that how to talk with people..vn i askd 1 question from the staff member he was cried...my point is that anybody can died there if always going such things ...and i'll see u all..
I was a regular customer of Reliance fresh (CIDCO Branch). But now a days i m facing lot of problems in ur store things r not arranged properly, working staff is very rude with the customer no proper services is given to the customer. at the time of billing if they dont have change cashier dont give their money back(even if the amount is small it should be given back after all money is money). I have many things to tell u I m giving u my phone no. [protected] i[censored] have time u can call me

AirTel — Cheating with software gimmicks by Airtel

I have taken an Airtel connection on behalf of our company vide connection No [protected]. Once the call is over, it never get disconnected. When I have contacted Airtel, after blaming my handset and my compliant in writing, they have given me new sim card. After few days the same problem is recurring and we are getting high bills as airtel manage their software to charge higheir bills to the consumers by cheating with their softwatre gimmics. I understand this problem is natural with Airtel specially with their 64K sims.

Airtel......! Please rectify and solve the problem permanantly or else face consumer case. I am giving you one week time to you.

recharge cell phone vouchers — price more than mrp

there are some retailers who are charging 1 rs/- more on all type of recharges of prepaid ouchers.and if the customer refuses to pay then the retailer also refuses to give him the recharge. pls take some action against it .or else publish the contact no. of that govet. authority whhich can take the complaints of customers and can soon take action against those retailers.
this is just because of monopoly of those retailers in that local areas and there is no goverment intervention in this sector. it also may b bcoz of company may not be in a possition to open its own retail outlets in a local area...
As already there are so many problems mentioned in the above examples.I also want to bring few following points about the another Reliance fresh store at sector 15 of Gurgaon.

1. Although there are number of counters in the store but staff is present at only 1 or 2 counters and people have to wait in a long queue.And if they asked to start billing at the new counter everytime they have excuse and ask to wait for 2 min by saying that they will be back.But then they dissappeared somewhere.The same has been communicated to the manager of this store but nothing happens.

2.There is some problem with the loyality bonus also.I mean it automatically gets decreamented although nothing is redeemed against these points.

3. As I have lost my temporary card (Reliance membership card) as I did not recieve the permanent card.And when I asked them to give me the new card, they asked me to make the new one.And when talked about the bonus points, nobody is giving the proper answer.I think as I have the address and card number, they can reissue the card with my existing points.But as even the manger is also worthless nothing is happening.

And there are lots of other many many problems which people are facing.But the staff and manager of the stores are shameless as it seems from the all the complaints that people have registered.Now I have stopped going to Reliance stores as instead of getting frustration and where nobody listen to the complaints of the people.I think the store is from us and if we stop going to these store then only something can happen.So lets stop going to these stores which at least we can do from our end.

we are a consumer of your store...this is very dissapionment to say...we have consume a cfl [of relince company] but they disscolate and got fused...and the storeman are not repalcing the CFL. we have gone many times to replace it but they not responds it...kindly make sure this complian of my be success...and theproblem of mine be solved...
i am regular customer/consumer of various products & fruits & vegetables at navsari, gujarat, ahmadabad & bangluru.on[protected], monday i visited reliance super for purchase of bannana& apple.but i found that the crrate of bannana was filled with less no.of bannanas of rotten condition not healthy for consumtion.i did away purchasing bannanas & the same cases with the apples there.at the billing counter i saw a trolly containing 10/12 bags full of bannanas which appeared to be purchased by single person happened to be a vendor.i put my complaint in the book for necessary action.i till awaiting reply.
the reliance super is meant to cater to the needs of retail purchaser & not to bulk purchaser/venders.this is also found by me at bangluru & ahemadabad.can you not stop bulk sales to unscruplus vender/purchaser.can i accept reply?d.p.agnihotri [protected]
