1)the message you received on your cell phone is generated from India, because it has Indian service centre.

2)the email id is not that of the company website. (in all the cases it is ...[protected]@live.com or ...[protected]@gmail.com or ...[protected]@hotmail.com etc...)

3)the prize administrator is a different name everytime (i have read more than 20+ complaints on this site and the name of the prize administrator is different in all the e-mails. what a joke? one company and 20+ prize administrators.)

4)try calling the numbers they give you with the e-mail. its fake!

5)the account number given to me for fund transfer is of axis bank with a forigners name. can u beat this?

i urge everyone to be extremly cautious. do not reply to these e-mails.

if you try to check for genuinity of the sms and e-mails, you will find a n number of reasons not to believe them. check for yourself.

i had accidently recieved a spam e-mail. and on seeing various forum i saw the ticket lotto no and all other nos match with the one with aruna kaul..i think its fake. i recieved it on 24 th april 2009.

I RECD SMS ON 27/05/09 FROM TM TREASURY OF WINNING 250, 000GBP AND WAS ASKED TO MAIL TO shell.[protected]@live.com, how ever i mailed them on 03/06/09 not to get the prize but to keep continuing the response from them, later i recd a congrats letter from them asking me to fill some details and i was given two options viz 1.wireless banktransfer by giving the bank details or 2. the address where the draft should be delivered, anyway i didn't give the bank details and gave them the office address.
Next i recd the mail from Barclays Bank Plc.London that the entire amt has been deposited with them and asked me to contact OMNI FREIGHT COURIER London.I also recd a mail with scanned copy of the draft which showed my name and draft # and also the logo of barclays bank.I recd a mail from Omni freight asking for the address proof, which i mailed them back as i will produce the same when the person delivers the draft. three days passed i again mailed all the three (i.e) shell, barclays, and also omni freight, to day i have recd a mail that the person will leave arrive to India on 9th of june and his scanned copy of passport has also been mailed to me for identification. I have been asked to clear the customs and make arrangements of his stay in my country. All these up and down mails from my side to the shell, barclays and omni were to reach the root of the above case, as i do understand nobody will be interested in giving one penny free, these mails were sent to keep them continuing the response from there end. I would like to know what should be my next step to help others getting into these false & fake draws.
I also would like to ask why the govt is yet to take any step to avoid fraud after so many of them have mailed to you, where you can easily trace out from where we receive these mails and also the sms.
