Sony Ericsson X10 I — cheating

respected sir/madam
my name is satish chandran ([protected]) working in kaya limited. recently purchased a sony ericsson x10i phone from the mobile store in frazer town in bangalore. within the 2 days of purchase i faced a quite issues with phone like ear volume was less, got hanged everytime, homescreen get jamed and most importently the battery hardly remains for 4 hrs, even if you dont use the phone the battery was going down. i was really dissapointed and went to the store and asked for a new set but they refused it and put me in phone with there sales officer mr. shiv , i spoke to him and made him understand that there lots of issue with phone but he spoke to me very badly, insulted me and also told you do what ever you want to ...

then i went all the way from my home which is k.r.puram to cunnigham road where they have the srvice centre which was really hopeless....

they told me this just an s/w issue we will rectify and give you, they did something with phone and promised it will not happen again but just after 3 days it started agian then again i went to them told them its the same then they took the set and told me we will check and give it to you in 2 days but no one turned up after 2 days i myself called but noone responed ...

after a week i called them and told that when are you going to give my phone they said its still getting rectified i shouted at them saying you guys told me it will take 2 days now wats the problem then they just asked me to come and pick up the set i went again but the give me the phone saying they need the receipt i told i have already spoken to your person and told him i have submitted the reciept some where and he just asked me to get the ref no which i have but they dint give me..... again i went home and got the reciept got my phone but beleive me its the same .... i feel totally cheated by sony ericsson ... spent 24600 rs for no reason and spent almost 3000 rs for just givng it service centre ,,, IS ANY ONE THERE TO HELP .. I HAVE ALREADY SENT A LEGAL NOTICE TO THE MOBILE STORE ..BUT NO RESPONSE YET ...PLEASE SOME ONE HELP .....CONTACT ME AT [protected]

On 7th of march 2011 I came to your outlet to buy the product NOKIA N8 but store person asked me to buy sony ericsson x10 as the store person told that it is better then nokia n8, it has got 12hr battery back up and never hangs as it’s a android phone etc and the nokia n8 is having some hanging problem and even the store manager mr. syed said the same and after the conversation I made my mind to buy sony ericsson x10.I paid the total amount of Rs.23700/- by debit card on the same day.

But after 2 days i.e on 09th march 2011, I faced some problem with the cell like
- touch screen was not working
- phone got hanged
- battery consumptions was very poor (hardly remains for 4hrs )

Therefore I went to the store saying that there is some issue with phone and I need a new peace as this phone is not as per the standard as you claimed, and also it has been just 2 days from the date of purchase. Mr syed and his team refused and said it got some software problem and I need to go to the service centre as we cant do anything. And they put me in phone with mr shiv (sales officer) and I told him again that there is some problem with the phone I need to replace but he spoke to me very rudely, insulted me and said, you do what ever you want to but I will not replace. Which made me feel very insulted?
Finally came to know that they were just trying to push the sony ericsson x10 to me as they have to achieve there store target. Felt they were more into selling than customer satisfaction.

I was really disappointed, cheated by them finally I need to go by my own to service centre in cunnighum road and I told them the problem but they said it’s a software problem we will install and give it to you then you will not face the same problem but I told him that software is nothing to do with the poor battery so please check the battery but he said these phones battery is less only, but the Sony Ericsson claim its 12hrs and my phone hardly stay for 4 hrs and even if I don’t use the charge goes down but he was not ready to listen and he did something with phone and assured there wont be any problem .

I totally lost the faith on phone and every time I use I feel it’s a defected peace which they have rectified and given me.

The phone was fine for 3 days but after that again it started giving me the same problem but I was not in a position to take off from my office then finally some how on 23rd march 2011, I took off, went to the service centre saying I am facing the same problem so please do something, they collected the phone and said some issue is with phone will rectify and give you after 2 days I told them I stay very far I cant come every time you call me, but no one helped me I deposited my phone to them and they promise me that within 2 days the will be rectified.

I was waiting for there call but no one called I have to call my self but no one responded, I was still calling for 3 days but still no one answered, at last on Monday 28 march I called them, said that my phone is with you and still I dint get reply the person told me there is some problem we have to check, I told them its already a week and you said 2 days it will be fine but still you say you dint work on it, after he spoke to someone he told me to come and collect the phone but I asked him that just now you told me you need to check again then how come you are asking me to come but he said it is fine sir you can come and collect.

Now I got my phone but still not satisfied, I feel that as if it’s a second hand phone as they have repaired and given that also not sure whether they have done it or not . I can’t keep going to centre asking to repair again and again. I stay really far and got office too and no one respond to it properly


I have all the documents which has been given by your respective service centre saying that the phone has got some problems


On the above mentioned matter I am filling a case in the consumer court against Sony Ericsson for manufacturing defected mobile, The mobile store for not helping and selling defected products even after telling the phone has problem by the customer, The service centre for not responding and asking me to come again and again but still the phone had problem and most important MR.SHIV {sales officer} for taking to me very badly and insulting me
