[Resolved] Sony VAIO / Sony India — Delicate laptop/ LCD screen | |
Hi, Few months back had purchased a Vaio for home use, but the screen has now cracked. I am SONY brand loyal person, from spool tapes, to walkmans, cd player, LCD tv, home theater, cameras, mobile phone… etc I and my family are a big fan of sony, which made me buy a vaio as well. I have been using laptops for more then 9 years now (have used Dell, IBM, Compaq, Toshiba) This is the first time I have faced a problem with a laptop and a sony product. The vaio screen is VERY delicate. I have given the machine to the service center (Andheri E, Mumbai) and they say the screen is damaged so is not part of the warranty. I mean I am looking for some help, I want to fix my problem. But why should I pay Rs 13000 for a lcd screen which is very delicate, it’s a manufacturing defect. If it had been my mistake, I would have definitely got it fixed myself, but in this case I need a better solution than by just saying it damaged. Please help by replacing the screen. Point I am trying to make is, that I know how to handle laptops, but in this case the screen is very fagile. I HAVE FACED THE SAM PROBLEM TODAY AND MY MODEL IS ALSO SONY VAIO CR35G, COLOUR INDIGO BLUE AND I PURCHASED IT ON 24.03.08. IT REFLECTS THAT THERE IS DEFENITELY SOME MANUFACTURING PROBLEM IN THIS PARTICULAR MODEL. PL. HELP ME ALSO OUT. I SHALL SHORTLY SUBMIT ALL RELEVANT DETAILS ON POSITIVE CONFIRMATION FROM YOUR SIDE ON THE ISSUE. WE ARE ALSO USING SONY 40" LCD, 32" LCDS ANS MOBILE SETS APART FROM LCD CAMERAS. I ALSO FEEL THIS WILL DEFINITELY REFLECT ON THE REPUTATION OF SUCH A COMPAN LKE 'SONY VAIO'. LOOKING FOR A POSITIVE, EARLY REPLY.
Hi, I also have exactly the same problem with a newly bought Sony Vioa laptp. It's so frustrating that Sony service center in Bangalore is trying to get away with this by aking it as physical damage as if I hammered it. I feel helpless.

WELL ACCORDING TO THE OFFER PROVIDED BY THE SONY VIAO OF WARRANTY EXTENSION...PAY RS. 5OOO/- EXTRA AND GET AN EXTENSION OF 2 YRS...SO I APPLIED FOR THIS ON 4TH DEC2008, I WAS TOLD BY MY DEALER THAT I'LL RECEIVE ALL THE REALATED DOCUMENTS THAT IS WARRANTY CARD AFTER 1 WEEK...BUT AFTER 1 WEEK I WAS TOLD 20 DAYS..THEN IT WAS TOLD THAT THEY WILL BE ABLE TO PROVIDE US BY 2ND OF FEB...FINALLY WHEN I WENT ON 2ND OF FEB2009 THEY SAID THEY THEMSELVES R NOT AWARE OF WHEN WILL SONY VIAO WILL BE SENDING THE WARRANTY CARD...NOE SONY IS CLAMING TO BE SENDING THE WARRANTY CARD BY THE END OF MARCH...I CAN'T UNDERSTAND WHICH OFFER TAKES SO MUCH OF TIME..IT'S NOT THE FIRST TIME.I HAD MANY BAD EXPERIENCES WITH SONY ...I DOUBT WHETHER I'LL AGAIN BE GOING FOR ANY SONY PRODUCT IN FUTURE...PLZ HELP ME AND PROVIDE ME SOME PLACE WHERE I CAN COMMUNICATE WITH SONY MAIN OFFICE DIRECTLY...BECAUSE COMMUNICATING WITH THEIR AREA MANAGER OF COCHIN IS NOT HELPING...PLZ HELP ME OUT...
