Tata Docomo — Extremely SLOW GPRS Speed | |
Tata Docomo is cheating their customers.. They Give Higher amount of data but at such slow speed that we can not consume it, though we do continuous downloading for a month. Lets see.. Rs. 149/- Pack = 8GB = 8388608 MegaBytes = [protected] KiloBytes for a month, and now we want to consume it.. to consume it in one month - we need to consume 8196MB/30days = 273.[protected] MB per 24 hours. We assume that we put our mobile daily 12 hours for continuous download for a month [which is also unbearable thing..] So we need 273 MB downloaded in 12 hours. = 22MB per hour. To do this we need 22MB / 60 minutes = 7KBytes per Second [which is I'm considering CONTINUOUS 7KB.] But what we get now? .. 2.5 -- 4.0 -- 1.1 -- 1.2 -- 3.4 KB -- different speed at different time intervral.. With this speed, I DOCOMO itself --> Connect your Network to laptop and Consume whole 8GB in month.. YOU FRUSTRATE YOURSELF..!! So, DOCOMO is just cheating their customers by providing High Amount of data at low prices.. We will be happy if they give 2GB of data at 100 rupees but with GOOD speed [at least 15 Kbytes per Second..] Here is the petition I've filed in public against DOCOMO - http://www.change.org/petitions/tata-docomo-india-provide-internet-service-as-per-their-specification I need more users to sign this and we should get, what we paid.. Tata Docomo — GPRS low speed
Respected sir/madam,I am using TATA DOCOMO GPRS service. I have many works to do trough it.
I can't complete some daily becouse of low speed service , I advise to provide high speed service for GPRS.

I am totally agree with Mr. [censored]al. coz docomo sold sim cards at low rate and with high speed GPRS in last year. So many user bought docomo cards. and after getting lots of customer, they started showing their true colors.
I am also facing same problem and if it is continue then i am going to switch another network soon.

I've already registered complaint with My DOCOMO number.
They contacted me too..
And your "Customer Care executive" said, "our official speed is 3.2Kbytes/sec and you are getting 4Kbytes then it's more than enough. I hope your query is resolved. Thank you for calling Tata docomo." DISCONNECTED!!!

EDGE, or the Enhanced Data Rate for Global Evolution, is the new mantra in the Global Internet Connectivity scene. EDGE is the new name for GSM 384.
The technology was named GSM 384 because of the fact that it provided Data Transmission at a rate of 384 Kbps.
It consists of the 8 pattern time slot, and the speed could be achieved when all the 8 time slots were used. The idea behind EDGE is to obtain even higher data rates on the current 200 KHz GSM carrier, by changing the type of the modulation used.
Based on an 8 PSK modulation, it allows higher bit rate accross the air Interface.
One Symbol for every 3 bits. Thus, EDGE Rate = 3x GPRS Rate.

me too agree. the official speed in 2g network is 32-48 kbps but we are getting just 7-8 kbps. mob. no [protected]
