Sir, I tried to book Railway Reservation Tickets Through IRCTC online e-ticketing facility on 01st Oct 2008. durng the booking process due to network failures my transaction could not succeed and reservation was not done. when i cheked my account balance on 2nd Oct 2008 balance is showing less amount by Rs 901/-. Sir,
With reference to the above refusal, we, the undersigned ticket holders would like to apprise you of the following for your perusal and necessary action.
We booked three waiting list reservation tickets in a three-tier AC coach from N.F Railway Shillong counter on 31/03/2009 in Kamrup Express for a journey to be undertaken from Bandel junction to Guwahati on 06/04/2009 in the anticipation that these tickets might be regularized before the date of journey.
We came to know through internet at 3pm on the date of journey that our tickets were still on waiting list. There on one o[censored]s hastened to Kalyani Station counter and stood in the queue at 4pm for cancellation and refund of the tickets.
But, there was link failure for more than two hours followed by recess time for the officials which caused exceptional delay for cancellation of tickets.
After resumption of work, when our turn came at around 8pm, the official at the counter refused to accept our cancellation .He informed that the refund for cancellation of tickets of the concerned train could not be accepted at 8pm after the train had already left BANDEL station at 6.30 pm on the date of journey.
In the above context, we would like to draw your special attention and express our circumstantial grievance of the case .The person had a long wait in the queue at the counter for four hours which turned out to be very disappointing to us. Moreover, it is highly rational for us to think that the responsibilities accruing from link failure and the consequent delay in dealing with the cancellation were incumbent upon the railway department and which were obviously not due to our negligence and fault.
We hope you may realize our contention that if there had been no link failure we would have received due refund for cancellation much before the departure time of the train from BANDEL station.
In perspective of this representation, we are requesting you to look into the case and consider the over all circumstances of our case so that we may have due refund benefit for cancellation of our tickets.

I would like to inform you that I reserved a ticket on 13th May. When ever the payment transaction was done immediately before getting the e-ticket the irctc sever was failure. So I didn't get my Ticket but the money deducted from my ICICI BANK account. So could u tell me how to return that money.

I can send u this details of my bank account from which money was deducted.

Dear Sir/Madam,
Its 8:10AM (my PC is synchronised with Internet time) and yet I have been unable to find the list of trains in order to book a ticket under Tatkal scheme from Nizamuddin to Jaynagar (Train #2570). Each time, the IRCTC server sends a messege 'SORRY YOU CAN BOOK eTICKET ONLY AFTER 0800 Hrs.". The situation is same for iTICET as well. I am sure you will agree that there is problem with the computer system maintained by IRCTC or with the people managing the computer system who may be in connivance with touts. I hope that this will be looked into and necessary steps will be taken.

Indian Railways — No refund of online booking when ticketing failed but payment succeeded

On attempting an online booking on June 23rd from Trivandrum to Bangalore, my account was debited but the ticket failed to be booked.I called customer service, Chennai and they confirmed that the ticketing had failed and that the money would be refunded within three working days, They advised me to rebook the same which i did, successfully. Thus two debits were made from my account.
Now, 17 days later and in spite of my repeated calls to Chennai and Delhi and repeated appeals to irctc by email, i have still not received the refund. The complaint numbers are 392905(July 5th), 504191, 504529 and 504505 (all on July 6th) and 520524 (on July 9th).
