[Resolved]  Vodafone Service — Pathetic service quality at Vodafone store

I'm writing to bring to your notice that there are major problems that I have faced while dealing with Vodafone service store- Manpada, thane. So called Happy to help is just a farse and they are not at all cooperative and Happy to help.

I have gone thru a major rig-m-roll for a small thing like changing my vodafone connection from my name to my wife. As the billing cycle is from 18 to 17 of every month, i had made a call on February 17, 2009 at the vodafone care and found out details of documents which are required for the transfer process where i understood that i need to carry a letter addressing vodafone for transfer, photograph, address proof and photo identity card of my wife.
To reconfirm the same i had visited vodafone store at Manpada, Thane where i met up with agent RITESH and even he asked me to get similar documents and did not specify on getting any particular documents.
My wife visited the store with documents and where she was told that he (ritesh) will not accept any bank letter as address proof and also will not accept Photo debit card of my wife.( this was not infromed to us that HDFC bank documents are not acccepted, do you also not accept HDFC bank cheques as payments?)
My wife is not form Bombay and the best documents that we could produce were bank details, even the pan card was of her maiden name.
Alas we were asked to get marriage certificate.Service was not at all professional nor did he (ritesh) tried to help and even denied that he can not get a photocopy and we will have to get our own photocopy. There was not attempt of helping us.
Store timings are till 7 PM and it becomes difficult for us to reach store as we are working couple.
Though 3rd time when wife and myself visited the store we met up with JAVED who was very rude and unfriendly least bothered to help, in spite of we producing marriage certificate which has due photograph and signatures he insisted on either a PAN card or passport, now both the said documents of my wife are on her maiden name and will not be of any help as transfer had to be done on new name.
JAVED made us go back home and get pan card, this was getting irritated and i would better cancel my vodafone no and go to other service provider who can assist and give me better services.
This was the 4th time my wife had to come to store with all documents and not he fills the form takes photocopies and takes our signatures, i'd also made all payments of my number for smooth transfer.
After waiting for nearly 1 hour we were asked to pay Rs 500 as deposit, this is when i lost my cool and demanded an explanation as why was i not given complete information on the same, they can not take customers time for granted. I walked out of the store.

Now it was already 24th February my wife managed to reach early to store yesterday (Feb 25) now expecting that every document was verified and ready, she just have to pay Rs 500 in order to get the process complete, to her surprise ARCHANA new agent ( now same person did not make and effort to take it a nd my wife had to explain entire thing to ARCHANA and when she checks the documents she points out that my signature do not match wiht the dirving lisence provided.
When JAVED had checked all the documents and also written on the same that " checked by JAVED" she did not accept the same and asked my wife to get my PAN or passport copy.Why was the verification not done by JAVED?

We feel that those guys are just not helping people but troubling them and when my wife asked Javed to look into the same he denied the same and asked her to talk to ARCHANA only and told that he will not be able to help.

I would have appreciated if some responsible person who understands gravity of situation and acts with giving solutions and not pointing out problems.
I'd to talk to some authority at Vodafone Andheri office who in turn spoke to store and got it sorted ( simple solution - pl mail a scanned copy of pan card)

I would like to register this serious complain as the unprofessional and unfriendly approach by your 3 customer agents have costed vodafone and I've decided to move out (vodafone customer for nearly 7-8 years) and also have requested my relatives nad friends to change to other service providers.
Mobility is on its way and customer will be able to choose service providers.


I would want you to look and take serious action on this matter as the experience has been very very painful

Handset purchased dated 06.06.07(with warranty of 2 years for ereplacement) found faulty. visted twicw at Mira Bhayandar Road store and reply received that set is not in stock.
Complaint no.[protected] dated 27.06.09 and it was told that set will be replaced in 3-4 days time.
I have again visited the Mira Bhayandar Road Branch vide complaint no.[protected] dated 04.07.09 and mesage was repeated and it was told that set will be replaced in 3-4 days time.
