Indian Railways — Senior citizens still travelling on duronto express not getting medical help

Sir,
This morning, i. E. 17th may 2017, wednesday morning, my father (Mr. Suresh chandra dash) and my mother (Mrs. Pranati dash) who are senior citizens, boarded the duronto express (Train no. 12281, h1, pnr no. - [protected], cabin-b, i. E. First class), travelling to new delhi from bhubaneswar. They had made a fatal mistake of not packing their insulin since both of them are diabetic patients (Type-2). As soon as they noticed they don't have their crucial medication, at around 10:30 am on 17th may 2017 (Wednesday), they immediately informed the concerned staff present (Still) on board the train, and had specifically asked the person in charge, mr. Bhoi, to provide them with telephone numbers of any pharmacies/medicine stores of any of the stations that they would be passing by. No such information was provided to them until 4 hours and they themselves had to find out frantically through google searches and various other medias about any pharmacies/medicine stores nearby any station that the concerned train was passing by, but to no avail, as nobody was ready to deliver to the train. Thereafter, person in-charge asked my father to take rest as he himself will take care of the needful and at a particular station. My father insisted on providing him with the station medical center's contact number so that he could explain the particular kind of insulin and medicines that my parents would require, the details of which was never provided to my father. Instead, the person in-charge assured him that they would take care of everything and when the time comes he would connect my father directly to station medical store, and asked them to take rest as clearly they weren't feeling well as long time had already passed without the proper medication needed. So, my parents went ahead and too some rest, assured by the person in-charge. When they woke up the particular station had already passed. Immediately my father went and asked anything was arranged, but the news what he got after that was rather shocking, apparently the person in-charge had forgotten to inform anyone about the situation and was personally taking rest himself. Now, my parents are still travelling trying to manage their situation.

I am writing to you to inform of this serious degrading standards of indian railways, where people even from first class cannot even get medical attention for a whole day. Can't even imagine what must be happening with lower train-class travelers?!?

Kindly take care of the situation, as besides writing to you there is simply no other help available. Please do not ignore this as this could be really crucial for somebody's life, still travelling on board of indian railways.
