[Resolved]  Maruti Suzuki — Worst experiences with my brand new Maruti Suzuki Ertiga

Hi Maruti, I have purchased “Maruti Suzuki Ertiga VDI BS IV” on 31st Oct 2014 (delivered date is 3rd Nov 2014). Visit1 to Sai Service center, Balanagar, Hyderabad: On 6th Dec 2014, by then I have driven the car for only 110 KM’s, Given car for first service: Having drove the car for 110 KM, I gave the following observations to the Service Engineer who came to pick up the car. 1) Car is moving bit tightly and while raising accelerator some sound is coming. 2) Immediately after releasing the lock, AIR leakage sound is coming between back two wheels After the car is picked up by the Service Engineer, I have called the Service Manager (I guess his name is Vivek Rao), and I have cross-checked with him whether the above two issues were brought to his notice by the Service Engineer or not. He acknowledged about the above two issues and gave assurance that they worked on the above. Response I got it from them is: For issue1: for new car sound and movement is like that only.. it’s going to be smooth after travelling couple of hundreds of Kilometers For issue2: is not an issue at all, that AIR leakage sound will come for all diesel cars. Visit2 to Sai Service Station, Erragada, Hyderbad: On 24th Dec 2014, by then I have driven the car for 251 KM’s: I brought car to Erragada, Sai Service Station with the same issues again (those I mentioned above) and told that I am planning for a long drive (~350 KM’s) so I am worrying with these issues. Response is same as above and they said no need to worry about the above issues and car is in good condition for long drive also. Note: this time they didn’t open any file at service station. Without any case sheet they have checked my car inside the service station and informed me the same response as above mention. So I have started travelling to Vijayawada immediately after the above assurance on 24th December 2014. After travelling for 250 KM’s (car kilometer is at 501.2 KM’s) we have heard a small crackling sound from car and engine got stopped in middle of the road. (The car is speeding at about ~90 KM/hour). By God’s grace, without any accident my driver managed the car and stopped it by the side of the road. Till that time there no warning indications shown on the car’s digital monitor. After the crackling sound, monitor started showing a red symbol of small jug with two drops. As per the service book it is “Oil pressure light warning”. From there we have followed the instructions mentioned in the service book. Instructions mentioned are – try to start the car again, i[censored]nable to start then don’t try again, Call the support engineer for further assistant. We tried to start the car but it didn’t start. Then I have called up support center and raised the compliant ( number - 845175) with them. Then I got a call from Anoop (I guess, from emergency road service support team ) and Pawan service center from Nalgonda. Pawan service center asked the condition of the car and as per their Instructions (they have not seen the car but advised by me as per the warning symbol shown in monitor) and they said, they are 50 KM’s away from my car breakdown place and if they want to come their I need to pay that charges if my willing they will come otherwise no. I am standing in the midst of road with Family looking for help and that gentle man responded to me like that! So I have call Anoop again and informed same, they helped me to get assistants from Suyrapet, Sai Global Auto Services (MASS, code 4550). They have reached me around 11:30 PM and verified car. They have informed me that car has Engine issue and they have to take the car to service center for further examination. So they towed the car to Suryapeta (25 KM’s) and we reached Suryapeta at 1 AM with family. Service engineer verified the car and informed it not possible to do anything in the middle night and tomorrow they will try fix it. Morning (25th Dec morning) they informed that car has major technical issue with engine, need to open the engine but car is under warranty so they are not right team to handle it. Then they looped me with Nagesh (I guess he is senior manager form Sai service center), So I have explained complete history to him, after hearing everything he advised me to go Pawan service center from Nalgonda but not gave any assurance as to how many days are required for fixing the problem. So I have requested him that without any assurance of how many day is required to fix the issue till that time where I and my family has to stay. After all discussion Nagesh has asked me to tow the car to Balanagar Sai service center, Hyderabad. But Sai Global Auto Services asked me towing charges to Balanagar is around Rs.9000- (including yesterday night’s towing charges), Same thing I have informed Nagesh and as per this guidance I have bargained with Sai Global Auto Services to get down to 7600- (without toll gate and driver food and other charges). So from all the above big explanation I am looking for below answers. 1) What is the SAFETY with Maruti Ertiga car? – because without any warnings, Car engine stopped in the running state. That time we are on the midst of Highway. 2) What is the Warranty and Guaranty from Maruti? –My car is driven only for 500KM’s until then! 3) What is the quality of Maruti Servicing Centers? – I have complained about the issues twice. Instead of identifying the problem, they gave wrong assurance to me to go on a long drive. My life and my entire family is put at stake by their wrong assurance. If anything happened to me and family who will be responsible? I will take this case with the higher ups of Maruti. This is indeed a very very serious issue. 4) Once car got breakdown, I have spent ~12000- who is responsible for that amount ? Detail for amount I spent: 1. Towing charges – From breakdown place to Suyrapet & Suyrapet to Balanagar Sai service center, Hyderabad - 7600- 2. Tollgate charges while towing the car - ~600- 3. Driver charges - Alting & towing car driver beta and food charges – 1500- 4. This is a very sad experience man. I have booked my card and may be delivered next week. I wish I saw this post first. A lot people of complaining about the quality of Maruthi cars and mid way breakdowns.
