Address: Karnal, Haryana

Hi,
I had taken a Matrix SIM card from Karnal Haryana for Mauritius for a week. The sales guy was very pro-active & took 6000 deposit, saying there will be no issues in this, as bill will be adjusted from this & rest of the money will be returned within a week of bill. It been 1.5 months since I returned from my trip to Mauritius. The sales guy took back the SIM just the next day & promised to refund the money within 2 days. The balance is about 4000.
I have been calling the sales guy & he does not even pick my phone. Also, Matrix costed me Rs.50 per minute!! There were other people who got sim directly from there which costed them Rs. 4 per minute!!
I want to file a consumer complaint against MATRIX & the unnecessary harasssment I am suffering.
Please NEVER USE MATRIX SIM CARDS.. They ARE CHEAT.

I took a Matrix SIM Card for Mauritius on 20th March 2012. I received the bill and when Matrix called on 18th April i authorised them to debit my Credit Card. The actual debit was higher by Rs.750/-. On enquiring i was told that the excess was for a unreturned Singapore SIM Card of year 2010 !!!!

I have no records of 2 year vintage to prove that i returned the SIM. Suddenly a claim is being made. If their claim was indeed genuine, they should have not issued a new SIM to me without me clearing purpotedly 2 year old dues. No mention was made anytime till i enquired for the excess charges.

    THIS IS BLATENT FORGERY.

I was charged for wrong usage of internet while i was using the SIM card in Germany, despite repeated request that it was wrong billing and to review the same. they charged by credit card with full bill amount. Now to top that up they have sent a new bill for April for additional amount. its sheer harrassment and poor customer service....i have written emails and tried calling the senior management number as provided but noone picks the calls or answers the emails. This is the most hopeless service I have ever expereinced and I would never recommend anyone taking MATRIX services.
Someone need to look at their practices and demand an explanation.

matrix cellular (international)services pvt ltd — wrong billing

I had taken a phone from their pune office from 24-04-08 to 26-5-08, for which i was given a tariff plan of 30dollars a month rental and asked to give my credit card xerox copy, they told me they would block Rs10, 000 FOR 21 DAYS AND THEN RELEASE THE MONEY.But after 15 days itself on 5-5-08 they have debited the amount from my credit card where as my mode of payment was through cheque.very conveniently they have ticked payment by credit card and debited thr rest of the amount also inspite of asking them not to do so.they have not informed me before debiting which amounts to fraud.they heve also carged me rental till 6-7-08.their pune office is useless, their people dont have any answers and inspite of repeated calls no one has come to collect the mobile handset.
      my bill nos are ATTG1769988 and ATTG1772999 DATED 22may 08 and 23 june 08.
i want to know what action i can take and how do i get my money back which they have charged me extra.AS IT IS THEY HAVE USED MY 10.000 RS FOR A PERIOD OF 6 WEEKS WHEN THEY WERE SOPPOSED TO REVERT IT BACK INTO MY ACCOUNT.

I have requested you to give a SIM card which may useful to talk for visiting Australia from 18 to 24 March 2012. There are discrepancies which are not satisfying me and need to revert charges at the earliest , bill is attached below.

        1. I have made call strictly with my personal clock/wrist watch of every call with duration of 1 or 2 or 3 minutes and ended 5-8 seconds before 01 or 2 minutes but tariff calling meter started when first ring start till conversation ends. i.e. Phone of called party may ring for 20-30 second after it far site person lift his phone and conversation start when call charge timer should start till conversation ends but actually matrix cellular Internation Pvt ltd not cahrges so. I requested Higher official of matrix to deduct this ringing time in all calls and revert charges accordingly or caller measuring meter is faster than actual clock.

I took three sim cards from Matrix o[censored]AE in Jan 2012. The plan i chose had CUG which means the calls between the three numbers will not be charged. But shockingly, when I got the bills, they charged my CUG calls also. I called the executives loads of time and I even filed the complaint to their support team but they didn't give me any response. As they had my credit card copy, they charged those bills automatically and now nobody is helping. Its not about the money but the fraud.
I have all the proofs with the copies of bills and the plan offered to me.

I immediately contacted company's customer representative mr.Abhishek mobile no.[protected] who every time gave me false hopes that he will pay me cash and take the cheque back or i will correct the cheque, but till date nothing has been done. This lapse on behalf of the company is grave. As it is i had disconnected my connection in sept 2011 and i got refund order in jan 2012 after repeated followup with abhishek. Please advise me in this matter i am totally disappointed with the services the company is giving. Please arrange to look in the matter.

              tDear all,
Please be aware of this service provider who promises cheap calls and then loot the customer.
Recently I took this card based on the commitment given by their sales person that the rental will be only Rs 1500 and I will get 300 minutes free call in USA as well as for overseas call.

But to my surprise they billed me Rs. 2200 and there are lot of hidden charges like service fee 12% and line rental and over and above that call charges on the pretext that my plan was to start one day after I landed in USA when I had already told the sales guy the date I will land in USA when I need to use the phone to call my relatives.

So the benfit of 300 minutes did not happen and now they tell me that this so called free minutes does not include calls to India.

Please note all calls are charged including incoming and text messgae is very expensive in USA so do not send SMS as the operator makes a kill on this.

Bitter lesson and I hope that this helps people who are travelling to USA as I do not want them to fall victim to this operator.

              Best regards
              P.K.Gopalakrishnan
I agree. That's what they do.They are a group of frauds. I have already written to TRAI about this.

Two sim cards/data cards were hired from Matrix cellular international services P.Ltd at their CSIA international airport in Mumbai on the 26th of Jan 2012 for Germany and Switzerland. For Germany it was for one week and for Switzerland for 3 days ,with condition that i can cancel the Swiss card by 28th if i am not going to Switzerland. At the time of completing the formalities,it was observed that the cards were not getting configured on my Apple laptop, the company person Mr.Himanshu Maru tried to get the card working for more than one hour but could not succeed.I was than assured that the cards will work in the respective countries and that if they dont work,i will not be charged.
On arriving in Germany, the cards did not work. This was informed to the Company people by email. The Switzerland card was also informed to get cancelled as i was not visiting Switzerland.
On returning, many emails and telephone complaints were made as Rs,10,000 and then Rs,2,880.64 was again charged on my Visa Citibank card.
                I have sent emails to Mr.Himanshu Maru,Mr.Hemant Thakkar,Mr.Abhishek Tripathi,[protected]@matrix.in,dorwin.[protected]@matrix.in and

The company just think about there charges and not about customer satisfaction. I am also one of the victims of over charges applied by the company on my bill and suddenly charged my credit card without informing me and without providing solution to my query.

I took a sim card for singapore for 6 days, got a bill of 30,000 with 25000 DATA charges!!! asked the company to explain it .Obviously they did not. Then someone called to Negotiate and come to a common digit because they cannot furnish details regarding the charges. When I asked them to come and meet me as no negotiation on phone was possible, no one turns up. Then i get to know that the sum of money is charged to my credit card as it is AUTOMATIC and since they have my card number. As furious as i was on this I contacted customer care and ask for a confirmation of the money on their part. They sent me an email saying that automatic transaction had occured. After all this I get another email saying that i hve been charged 600 rs fine for non payment and dues of 29000 pending.!
One will get sim cards in singapore so easily and at cheaper rate why to opt for matrix ?
hi, I was also cheated in the same way when I visited Singapore for a week and I when I cam back I got a bill of 1.5 lac ..!!! and without notification I was charged 110000 from my card...:(:( Please pass the message and beware of them. We have to do something about this legally or else they are stealing money from everyone like this..!!

                  HI,

I had take 2 Sim cards from matrix for my US visit 24-march-13 to 7-Apr-13. I'd requested for Voice+Data([protected]) on one and only voice on other([protected]).I had lots of trouble for first three days as for some reason they weren't able to activate data on the first Sim, and while trying to activate data they decoupled the Sim and render it useless. So I was left with only one Sim card . So I requested them to activate data plan on the other one, now they claim that the data pack is $45 while in Bangalore airport, the salesman informed it was $40(price hiked in 3 days??? quite possible).

Then after I'm back to India I receive the bill which has an extra line item, a call to UK, with a charge of $21

                  28/03/2013 09:13:00 [protected] International Call United Kingdom 00:07:00 21.00 0.00 0.00 1186.08

I'm sure I dint make any call to UK, all the calls that I made were only to India or within US.
But as you would've guessed they never accepted that the record is false.

After seeing that I sent a mail to the support, and ask them for clarification, and guess what next day the whole amount is charged from my credit card, without my permission.

And then when I ask for the call details record CDR/Voice logs for that call, there is no reply, its already been more than 15 days.
I will be taking legal action against Matrix, but I would say just stay away from them.

                  Regards
                  Raj Pandian

                  Definitely Recommend Matrix

Not only amazing network coverage, but the tariff plans for Thailand are equally kickass and really easy on the pockets!! Definitely recommending Matrix International Sim cards to all

                    Dear readers,
recently while on my foriegn trip , i was carrying matrix cellular. they said roaming rate was 7.68 SGD/ minute. when i received billing statements i found they charged with more than 15 SGD per minute. when i asked them they said minimum is 7.68 SGD and maximum as per the service providers discrete. So please careful these people do not have any control over other service provider's charges. They simply charge as per CDR. You will loose your money in abnormal way. Avoid using these type of service ,other wise prepare to loose your hard earning money. If you have any discrepancy ,you cannot get solved but you will come to know their stringent or cheating rules and regulation.

Be careful ,do not waste your hard earning money to easy earning corporates. BEWARE OF MATRIX CELLULAR INTERNATIONAL SERVICES

The sales girl(Jyotsana Singh) who had called me to sell the card had not informed me that i would be charged by the local servicxe provider as well, as I am a working single parent there was not much time for me to check things out. Moreover the guy who came to hand over the SIM came at a time when I was not at home and my daughter had to sign the documents.I did not bother to read the documents, moreover the documents do not say 'local service provider charges' at all and I have repeatedly said it to them that i have not been informed by the salesgirl that the local service provider would charge me.
At that time I had asked my daughter to sign the forms as the girl had assured me again that there were no problems if my daughter just signed without checking as she had axplained everything to me. Believing her I instructed my daughter to sign the papers and handed over a security deposit of Rs.5000.
After coming back from abroad we had received a bill from matrix which is as below (bills attached)
                      Malaysia - Rs.6792+10% = Rs.7471
                      Singapore - Rs.6874+10% = Rs 7561

No where on their document do they inform the customer that the charges would be as per Stan Chart selling rates for that particular day when the bill is generated.
Does'nt the customer have a right to know all the details or are they going to fleece me of my money.
I have a lot of things to discuss which cant be written down, please let me know the correct way to conatct you as they have sent me a logal notice reagrding the same.
They did not contact me for all these months and started doing so in the month of Oct, even after that they have been calling me once in a blue moon and then suddenly stepped up their calls in Dec.
They are hounding me and are mentally torturing me into giving in to their demands, I have been repeatedly asking them to put me across to their marketing or customer service manager whom i can speak to but they refuse to do so and have started sending me all these notices.

There are a lot of descrepancies in the bills, emails and messages(sent on daughter's no). Please help me sort out this mess as I am extremely disturbed by all this.

                      Regards

Matrix are nothing but frauds never give them your credit card copy.

In Oct I took their SIM card for a week for travel to USA and when I returned to India I had to follow up with them for a week making at least 9 phone calls to collect the SIM. This is their latest strategy to collect late return fees and also charge you for another month.

In December I got a shock I had been charged again by Matrix for Rs 400. I still have not got a bill for the same inspite of sending umpteen emails to them.

Never ever take a connection from these , what money you save initially you get cheated by them eventually.

Activate roaming for emergency calls and use Skype for phone calls to India

I bought an international sim card(for my data use in I pad), I hardly used the card to check my emails in 5 days, they sent me a bill for 36000 Rs. Since they had my credit card details I could not block that payment. It is the worst company to buy sim card for international roaming.
                      Dear Sir/Madam,

Kindly let me know the status of my complaint as I am being harrased by Matrix recovery agents for payment of my pending dues.

As stated by me previously too that I would readily pay them the relevant money but not something which is being fraudulently forced upon me.

Someone from the support team has posted a comment that they would solve my problems but instead me and my daughter get threatening calls at all odd hours of the day or night.

I am going through a harrowing time with these recovery agents, request you to kindly look into the matter and let me know at the earliest.

I will not pay them anything extra as they are trying to fleece customers by giving half information.

                      Regards

                        Hi,

I took an Matrix Sim for my Singapore&Malayais Travel for a period of 7 days and while taking this sim they never explained to me the billing process. I gave my credit card and they said that they have blocked the of 5000 INR and would be refunded. When asked about billing the person aid that they would notify us when the bill comes and the amount and how to make the payment.

After nearly a month suddenly one day I got alerts of 110000 transaction from my credit card from Matrix and after some time they called and saying that your bill amount is 159000 INR...!!!!! Please pay the remaining balance... !! Without any initimation they stole my money from the credit card and asking for the remaining money. I was shocked to see that that much of amount..!!! Who in the world will bill more that a lakh of bill for a period of 7 days.. Is this something the Mobile Market is new to the world...??

So I denyed paying the remaining money saying this is a cheat and fraud and I would require a orginal bill from the SingTel and would verify it. When contacted to SingTel they were not able to track the Account No which the the Matrix sent to me...!!!

Seriously they are cheating the customers like this and I'm taking this very seriously and legally I will proceed this. Anybody is met with the same incidents please notify me or file a complaint. Every single rupeee is hard earned money and simply dosent grow in trees folks..!!!

                        Thanks!

                        Hi SRakesh,

We have just been cheated too.
We took a micro sim card for iPad on our recent visit to Europe.
We were supposed to get 40 MB free and then rest at 0.19 GBP per MB
I never got an email ( they could assume I was accessing emails given I took a sim for iPad !) or an SMS to my alternate india number which was on for the duration to say that my 40 mb was over.
I have got a bill for Rs. 1.7 lacs !
That means my 40 free mb was over 8 hrs into my trip !
Had I been informed I would have taken out their card and not used it.

Their charges have been way higher than if I had taken a local card or even just stayed on roaming on my indian card.

What happened to your complaint ?
Did you get any justice ?

                        Prepaid matrix SIM card

very worst call cost and service

The Company staff or Agent cheated for call cost and with out permission my customer credit card used this person we take leagl action he is working in salem travel agent .. i think how many people suffer this type issues..

I bought Matrix sim cards for my travel to US and Europe. I wonder how these companies exist still with their way of service. The data dint worked, the outgoing calls dint worked, they said they give a waiver but that is also not happened. I couldn't believe the charges when they sent me the bill, very very highly charged. We have to follow them to handover the sim, we will get a call daily from their office if we have surrendered, but they wont come, and to the worst come worst part is that i have received their bill after due date and i have to pay late fee as well.

I used their service recently and took a sim card for switzerland and was a victim of wrong billing and when I contacted their Business Development Executive he avoided my calls and never responded. Also I gave them vouchers of Rs.1000 which I won from a Radio Channel, they took it but never deducted the amount from my final bill and neither they returned the vouchers.

I will never use their service and I would request other users to Beware of their billing system, International Roamings are much cheaper and you will get the shock of matrix only when you see their bill.

First, I must say that I had extremely bad experience with Matrix and I have no doubts saying that Matrix is FRAUD. I used Matrix SIM card for Finland and Sweden. Customer Name: Mr. Siddhartha Pratim Saikia CAF No: M 1801517 Account Code: 480305.

I have been charged FALSE for calls worth Rs 4519.28 as per the details below:

                              Roaming-Voice 00:07:17 56.40 4,519.28
                              09/10/11 11:17:33 [protected] Roaming Call Finland 00:02:39 21.15 1,694.75
                              09/10/11 12:05:31 [protected] Roaming Call Finland 00:04:38 35.25 2,824.53

I called the same number few times. When I called the above number from Sweden, I was charged Rs 156.25. HOW CAN THE SAME CALL BE CHARGED RS 4519.28 FROM FINLAND? My SIM was valid for both FINLAND and SWEDEN.

Under any circumstances, I will not pat these FALSE charges. I want Matrix to revert RS 4519.28 to my credit card immediately. Else, I WILL TAKE THE MATTER TO CHAIRMAN OF TELECOM REGULATORY AUTHORITY OF INDIA (TRAI) and TELECOM MINISTRY.

I WANT MY MONEY BACK IMMEDIATELY.

Sir, we have just received an update from our network partner for the query raised on your case. And as per the confirmation received, the calls are genuine and have been billed correctly in the invoice. Kindly refer below the statement received by them:
The first call was an outbound call the customer was roaming on the Telia network in Sweden.

The second and third calls were inbound calls from the international number while they were roaming in Finland on the Sonera network. These inbound calls have been highlighted as a Premium rated incoming call.

I am currently a student in the US and I've taken a Matrix Cellular student plan. I was shocked to see my invoice number ATTG3095923 was for Rs.50,064.34. The majority of the charges - Rs. 41,500.04 - was for other data usage. It turns out that Matrix Cellular somehow didn't update my data plan details and I've been paying GPRS download rates all along. I had taken an iPhone 4 and was told that the 2GB data plan(Costing me $25 a month) is absolutely compulsory for the iPhones. I had opted for the same, since I didn't have any choice.

I was also told that my phone would be delivered to my US address via courier. When I didn't receive my phone, I wrote to Matrix Support, and it turns out that no one at Matrix had any details about the phone that I had opted for. I later got my phone, though pretty late.

After I got the invoice, I called up Matrix Support and was told that, first, my data plan records are not updated with them, second, they have no records of an iPhone being purchased by me. They went on to ask me how I had paid for my iPhone. I want to ask them how they could deliver something to me, if I had not even paid for it.

Quite frankly, I'm appalled by how Matrix operates and I'm scared of bearing such a large credit bill for no fault of mine. I'm a student with no source of income and this is turning out to be a huge headache.

                                Dear Sir/Mam,

I travelled to Singapore from 25th nov 2012 to 02nd dec 2012. So I needed a local a SIM card and data card during my visit in order to avoid any roaming charges on Indian card. My budget was around 2000 to 2500. And I came to know about a good local deals from matrix executives. A big mistake I heard to them!! A lady called Shivani came to my place. I informed her about my budget and she suggested me about this perfect plan according to her. The total bill of these two cards should not have been more than 5000 based on our discussion. But when I received the final bills, I was shocked to see it to be 52, 000/-. Its not a joke unfortunately! This is ridiculous with the fact that the Internet and Telephone connections have become very cheap these days, this amount could give me unlimited internet/mobile service for at least a year anywhere in this world. When I called customer care, they started claiming about the itemised bill that they had. This is a perfect example of professional cheating.

The way they have created the itemized bill does not make any sense. Just like Savita has mentioned above, all that Customer Card has said that this is how it is charged and that I didn’t used budget dialing services. Why dint their exective tell me about it when I had confirmed with the executive that my budget was not more than 2500. I fail to understand their cryptic means of service. I refuse to pay for the extra charges and told them that as per my calculation I owe them not more than[protected].

When I just opened up the consumer complaint forum, I was not surprised to see so many complaints against matrix (www.matrix.in) products and their services.

This is my official consumer complaint. I am ready to share all the information with the Indian Consumer Complaint team.

Someone really needs to take some serious action again Matrix for exploiting the peope with the misuse of technology and by misleading the people with their services/plans.

I took a SIM for my short visit to USA (during 5th October to 11th October 2011). The Matrix people had taken
a cheque for Rs. 5000/- from me, which they got cleared fast on 7th October. I have repeatedly put to their notice
again and again that the sim provided to me did not work in USA. This was intimated by me through an SMS while
I was in USA and later through an email from there. I am sorry to point out that the services provided to me by Matrix
                                  were highly unsatisfactory.
This is an irony that a customer can only complain and there is no penalty for the service providers in case service is
not provided. I faced lot of difficulties when the Matrix SIM did not work in USA.

                                    Hi,

i had recently traveled to Singapore. For this purpose i contacted Matrix Cellular International Services in order to a get a sim card for using in Singapore. When the executive came to deliver the same and the product information was given to me, i was told that GPRS services are not available on the SIM & cannot be activated, only plans for Blackberry users were there.

i am working in a MNC and use a Nokia E-7 phone, which downloads my mails for office & personal accounts directly. When i came back from Singapore i was billed for Rs. 7,500 for "data charges". On complainnig to the Matrix Customer support i was told that GPRS services were pre-activated on the sim, hence the charges for downloads. Since i was not aware that GPRS services are pre-activated i did not deactivate the automatic download of mails on my phone, hence when i put the sim card in my phone in singapore, it downloaded all the pending mails. This resulted in the excess charges of Rs. 7,500, my telephone budget for the trip was only Rs. 800, my calls were well withing the budget, but this "data surges" is definitely uncalled for. i want compensation against this fraudulent company who do not give complete product information before sale.

                                    Please help !!!

I am from India and recently went to Singapore for a four day trip. My plan was to take a local Singtel prepaid connection on arrival at Singapore airport.
However, at international departure terminal at Kolkatta airport, the salesmen of Matrix cellular convinced me to take TWO Singtel simcard saying it is cheaper than taking a local SIM in Singapore. He assured us saying the same Singtel card which you will take on Singapore arrival will be given to you here pre-activated without any difference in Tarrif. He did not even bother to disclose that they have given me a postpaid card instead of prepaid.
In a hurry, we took the connection. He asked us to sign a form and took Rs5000 as security deposit and assured balance amount refund after we return back.
However, post return to India, we called the matrix guy and handed him the SIM card at kolkata Airport. The matrix guy said, you will get the refund after bill is generated. But on the contrary after one month I was emailed the telephone bill of matrix, claiming Rs 18000 for both the Sim cards.
The Difference in TARIFF in Singtel Card given by Matrix compared of Singtel Prepaid Card at Singapore is as follows:
                                    1. Matrix charges a fixed rental SGD 1 = Rs 37/- PER DAY. Singtel charges a one time sim card charges of SGD 10 with validity for 90 days. Singtel deducts SGD 0.60 per day for free incoming.
                                    2. Matrix local call charges at Singapore = Rs 11/- . Singtel varies from Rs 3/- to Rs 6/- depending upon peak or unpeak hour usage.
                                    3. Matrix ISD call rate from Singapore to India is Rs 33/- per min whereas Singtel call rate with 019 dialing is Rs 6/- or less.
In addtion Matrix charges are costlier as mentioned below:
                                    1. They charge airport fee of Rs 150/- per sim if bought at airport
                                    2. They are charging a surcharge of @10% of bill amount.
The above charges were not informed to us at the purchase point and they take signature from you in a hurried manner in a paper where these charges are mentioned. They just take security of Rs 5000 and assure refund immediately on returning back.
Singtel Prepaid from Singapore would have billed me Rs 1000 for both the cards while Singtel card given by Matrix have raised a bill of Rs 22000 just for a 4 days trip to Singapore.

While using the Dongul it showed the usage made of AT&T and it was approx 60 MB total. Where as the Itemized bill sent by email shows a very heavy usage.

Mr.Rahul Aggarwal (Sr.Business Development Executive) from Matrix Mandi Road, Mehrauli - sold us a plan were we were allowed 200 MB free.

On good faith we returned the Dongul or else if we were aware that such wrong billing would be created we would have kept the dongul until the Original bill was generated to us.

We are shocked to see that a reputed company as Matrix can cheat there consumers so openly.

Till date we have not received the ORIGINAL BILL. It has been 4 months.

We have sent mails to Matrix but nobody has taken any action. We had given a security of Rs.10,000 and Matrix made sure they made a fabricated bill and took all the money.

Kindly look into the matter immediately and resolve this issue. We have been totally cheated.

Further, added to the harrassement we keep getting messages and calls that our bills are pending whereas those numbers do not even belong to us they are issued to some other parties.
